What Denise cares about

Mom and caregiver advocating for my daughter’s medical care and accessibility needs. Grateful for support and community.

Hi, my name is Denise D., and I’m raising funds for my daughter Jaila. Jaila was born a micro preemie at just 23 weeks, and from the very beginning she has been a fighter. She has been through more in her life than most adults, and she continues to fight every single day. Jaila is medically fragile and has multiple disabilities, and she requires ongoing care, therapies, and frequent medical appointments. Recently, we were hit with something that has honestly been heartbreaking for our family. Jaila lost her vision. She has retinal detachment and cataracts. Her cataracts were removed and her retina was reattached, but she has only gained light perception. Right now, light and shadows are the only expectations the doctors have given us. As her mother, I’m doing everything I can to stay strong for her. I also truly believe God has the final say. His hand has been on Jaila’s life since the beginning, and I’m trusting Him completely with her future. No matter what the doctors say, God is the one who gets to write her story. I am a single mom of three, and caring for Jaila is a full time responsibility. The cost of her care, transportation to appointments, therapies, and the supplies she needs continues to grow, and it has become too much to manage alone. Donations will help with Jaila’s medical-related needs, travel to appointments, therapy support, supplies/equipment, and also help keep our household stable while I’m home caring for her, including aide hours and necessary training. I’m asking for help to support Jaila and our family during this time. If you’re able to donate, thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. And if you can’t donate, please share this and keep Jaila in your prayers. Even if you can’t give, sharing this means everything. Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for showing love to Jaila.
