<div>Right now, we cover our everyday living costs from our salaries. Ross has already reduced his working hours, and Matt is still working full time. But this is an unpredictable illness. If Ross's health deteriorates, or Matt needs to step back from work to care for him full time, we may need to use some of these funds to keep our lives stable through treatment.

<div>Hi, my name is Matt and I am fundraising for my husband Ross.

<div>Just two months ago, Ross was a fit, healthy 43 year old, living life to the full. Nothing could have prepared Ross, or his friends and family, for how suddenly and devastatingly our lives were about to change.
</div>

<div>After finding a lump on his neck and experiencing stomach pain, Ross was suddenly diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer. By the time it was discovered, the cancer had already spread from his bowel to his liver, lymph nodes, lung and spleen. Since then, everything has happened at such speed that we are still struggling to comprehend it.
</div>
<div>After going in for his stoma operation, a huge, life changing procedure, Ross was hoping to be home within a few days to recover and prepare to start chemotherapy. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. Due to the size of Ross's tumour in his bowel, the strain it had placed on his liver caused his bilirubin and liver function to become dangerously abnormal. At that point, Ross was told that chemotherapy was no longer possible and was told to consider end of life care.

<div>However, thanks to Ross's incredible strength, the outstanding surgical team at the hospital, and two more major procedures, Ross's bilirubin levels began to fall. After his bilirubin dropped from 290 to 130, his wonderful oncology team said it might be possible to attempt chemotherapy at 60% of the normal dose, but at great risk.
</div>
<div>Regardless of the honest warning that the chemotherapy itself could potentially kill him, Ross made the incredibly brave decision to go ahead and begin treatment. We are so incredibly grateful that he did.
</div>

</div>
<div>Ross made it through his first round of chemotherapy. His bilirubin continued to fall and his determination to keep fighting never changed. After four procedures, two blood infections, sepsis, and four long weeks in hospital, Ross started his second round of chemotherapy with his bilirubin levels almost back within the normal range, and he is still smiling.
</div>
<div>After further genetic testing, we found out that Ross's cancer carries a mutation called BRAF V600E that causes bowel cancer to behave particularly aggressively. But discovering this also opened the door to a new targeted treatment designed specifically for cancers with this mutation.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>A clinical trial called BREAKWATER examined the addition of two targeted cancer medicines, encorafenib and cetuximab, alongside chemotherapy for people with Ross's specific type of cancer. The results have given us genuine hope that combining these medicines with his chemotherapy could significantly improve how well his cancer responds, potentially increasing the odds from 40% to 70%.

<div>Ross, and all of us who love him, understand that no treatment can make promises. But we now have a treatment option that gives us hope. Our aim is that this combination can shrink Ross's tumours enough to make further treatment, and potentially surgery, possible, giving Ross the best opportunity for an extension of life. For the first time since his diagnosis, we have a glimmer of hope for a future beyond stage 4 cancer.

<div>Ross's additional treatment is only available privately at this time, and could cost up to £9,000 a month. We do not have the time or resources to raise these funds alone, so we are asking for your help to give Ross the strongest possible chance: to access every available treatment, create new possibilities, and keep fighting for the future he deserves.

<div>In August 2022, our awesome friend Steve, aged 46, was diagnosed with a stage 4 Glioblastoma brain tumour.
</div>

<div>After enduring 27 rounds of radiotherapy, multiple cycles of chemo, so many complications and hospital stays, a pulmonary embolism and losing the use of his left leg from a 4-hour seizure, poor Steve got the news that the treatment wasn’t working and the tumour was growing.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As much as the NHS, UCLH and Queens Square Hospital have been amazing, Steve’s family hit a dead end. They needed to do more. They couldn’t access all the treatments they needed in the UK or on the NHS.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Fran, Steve's incredible wife tirelessly researched alternative treatment options and they have been travelling every 6 weeks to the IOZK clinic in Germany for immunotherapy treatment. The treatment includes Keytruda, hypothermia, onocolytic virus therapy and ultimately a customised vaccine. The treatment IS making a difference, his seizures have reduced, and his mobility has improved. Steve's latest scan finally showed stability, some tumour reduction and his medical team believe it's all going in the right direction. It’s the first positive news that Steve and Fran have received since this hideous nightmare began. The challenge is that this treatment is extremely expensive.

<div>Steve requires a variety of treatments. The aim being to prolong Steve’s life and, potentially, stop the tumour in its tracks. We want to give Steve as much additional time with his family and daughter Autumn as possible.

<div>Fran has been caring for Steve and raising funds for his treatment. She never thought that Steve would have Brain cancer or that they’d need to go outside the UK to get treatment and that the treatment would cost hundreds of thousands of pounds.
</div>
<div>What this family has had to experience over the past year and a half has been incredibly sad to see and therefore we want to support them in any way we can.
</div>

<div>We've come together and devised a plan for a sponsored walk on February 24th, 2024, this will help keep Steve’s treatment going and also raise awareness for much-needed brain cancer research. It was devastating to find out that brain tumours kill more people under 40 than any other cancer. Yet just 1% of the national spending on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease since 2002.

<div>For those of you who don’t know, Steve edited Netflix’s Sex Education. Therefore, we thought an 80/90’s Sex Ed dress-up style would be fitting! When Steve was diagnosed, he was editing the final series and reluctantly had to stop working when the treatment and seizures got too much.

HELP STEVE! - Brain Cancer Treatment Fund

<div>They told me I had three months to live back in January 2022. I’m now well past my expiration date — coming up on 4 years quickly. It’s been a journey of trial and error, setbacks and progress. That’s become the rhythm of this life, and through it all, I’ve always given it everything I have.

<div>My diagnosis, glioblastoma, one of the most aggressive brain cancers, has completely changed the course of my life. Over the years, I’ve exhausted every resource trying to beat it. My most recent scan showed 5 tumors. I don’t know what’s causing them to grow but the doctors say my time is very limited: I refuse to accept this.

Help The Chisleys After Eaton Canyon Fire

Hello friends, family, and others willing to help,

I know I’m not the best at keeping contact and I’m always up and about. But I would love to ask you humbly for a helping hand.

My fur baby Sir Thomas (Russian Blue Cat 5years old will be 6 in a few months) is in need of a major surgery. I’ve done about 4/5 trips to the vet and each one has been over $400.  The first veterinarian kept charging me and he kept getting a UTI’s. He then went on a special diet for his kidney stones but his bladder got yet again infected hes been on meds, food etc. these temporary relieves aren’t helping him and he needs to be put under Anesthesia and they need to put a catheter in him for a few days so that he can flush any mucus, debris , stones etc he may still have that’s causing him to flare up. Unfortunately I’m not in a place yet to be able to pay for this fully myself. I’m hoping and praying that with enough people I may be able to gather the needed funds and get him in ASAP. Any amount will be so very appreciated, I feel such a disappointment feeling within myself that I cant provide for my little man. I’ve said this before, my pets are like my kids and the fact that I can provide him with a solution right away makes me feel like a failure. And I’m so sorry to him for being in the place that I am. If you or anyone you know would be willing to help, please understand I would be forever thankful, from the bottom of my heart. And if you can’t during these hard times, please just a simple prayer and positivity sent this way is always welcomed. 

I have an invoice for the operation and they also gave me an invoice for euthanizing him just in case, which broke my heart, but I’m willing to keep the faith that I can get this for him. Thank you guys for even reading my post I appreciate all of you.
