En noviembre pasado, Leo fue diagnosticado con un schwannoma, un tumor en su nervio auditivo que tuvo que ser extraído lo antes posible para evitar daños en su cerebelo, lo que comprometería varias funciones vitales, como la respiración, la deglución y la función muscular. El sábado 26 de julio, Leo se sometió a una compleja cirugía de 8 horas que logró extirpar por completo el tumor, que había invadido el canal auditivo y parte del nervio facial. Todo parecía ir bien, no mostró complicaciones y fue enviado a su habitación.

<div>Sin embargo, nunca despertó completamente de los anestésicos, y su nariz comenzó a sangrar durante la noche. Una tomografía mostró que había un edema cerebral, una inflamación en el cerebro debido a la acumulación de líquido. Después de esto, su condición se deterioró rápidamente, lo que obligó a los médicos a trasladarlo a la unidad de cuidados intensivos. De camino a la UCI, Leo sufrió un paro cardiorrespiratorio, que cambió drásticamente los prospectos para su recuperación.

<div>Leo está siendo tratado en un hospital privado en la Ciudad de Guatemala. A diferencia de los hospitales en los Estados Unidos, recibimos una factura diaria y nos vemos obligados a pagar alrededor de 3,500 dólares todos los días para mantenerlo en la UCI. Aunque logramos recaudar una cantidad significativa para la cirugía, los costos de la UCI se han disparado mucho más allá de nuestro presupuesto inicial. Hemos acumulado un total de 15,000 dólares en costos hospitalarios en solo unos días, lo que nos ha llevado a reiniciar nuestra campaña de recaudación de fondos con la esperanza de mantenerlo estable.

<div>Hi, this is Leonardo Rodriguez’s family. Last November Leo was diagnosed with a schwannoma, a tumor that had to be removed as soon as possible in order to avoid damage to his cerebellum, which would compromise several vital functions, such as breathing, swallowing and muscle function. On Saturday July 26, Leo underwent a complex 8-hour surgery which managed to completely remove the tumor, which had invaded the ear canal and part of the facial nerve. Everything seemed to go as planned, he showed no complications and was sent to his room.

<div>However, he did not fully wake up from the anesthetics, and his nose started to bleed during the night. A CT scan showed that there was a cerebral edema, which is swelling in the brain due to fluid accumulation. After this, his condition rapidly deteriorated, which forced the doctors to move him to the intensive care unit. On the way to the ICU, Leo suffered cardiorespiratory arrest, which drastically changed the stakes for his recovery.

<div>Leo is being treated at a private hospital in Guatemala City. Unlike hospitals in the United States, we receive a bill daily and are forced to pay around $3,500 every day in order to keep him in the ICU. Although we managed to raise a significant amount towards the surgery, the costs of the ICU have skyrocketed far beyond our initial budget. We have accrued a total of $15,000 in hospital costs in only a few days, which has led us to restart our fundraising campaign in the hopes to keep him stable.

Salvemos a Leo: Pelea por su vida en cuidados intensivos

<div>Somos Eduardo, Gustavo, Diego y Adriana y queremos contarles que desde hace dos años nuestra abue Miriam entro en una depresión profunda debido al suicidio de su hija, nuestra tía Francis. Una situación muy difícil para toda la familia de la cual aun sentimos las repercusiones. Esta depresión desencadenó en nuestra abuela una serie de problemas de salud graves, incluyendo complicaciones cardiovasculares y gastrointestinales.

<div>Nuestra abuela vive en Bogotá, Colombia, y debido a restricciones migratorias, no habíamos podido verla en más de dos años. A finales de Junio por fin tuvimos la suerte de reunirnos con ella para celebrar la boda de Edu. Lamentablemente, durante su estancia aquí, abue contrajo COVID-19 y ahora se encuentra hospitalizada e intubada en el Hospital Escandón desde el 12 de julio 2024. Su estado es crítico, enfrenta una situación complicada con intubación necesaria debido a una arritmia cardiaca e hipertensión.

<div>El cuadro médico actual de mi abuela es estable, pero su pronóstico sigue siendo reservado. Se estima que necesitará al menos 7 días más de intubación.
</div>
<div>Desafortunadamente, el seguro médico de Colombia no cubre los gastos en México, y nos enfrentamos a una cuenta hospitalaria que por ahora supera los 500,000 pesos mexicanos (28,000 USD). Para nuestra familia es muy abrumador ver como esta suma sigue incrementando y la salud de nuestra abuela sigue incierta.

Hip replacement for my Mom

<div>Hello my name is Maria and I’m hoping to raise funds for my mother MORELLA DE OSILIA.

<div>Unfortunately, last June, a week after her 87th birthday, my mom suffered a fall that caused her to break her hip, for which surgery was necessary to place a prosthesis.

<div>It was expected that the day after the surgery, she would begin to take the first steps, however, this did not happen.
</div>
<div>From that same week the complications began and we noticed a significant physical and emotional deterioration.
</div>
<div>Her pain became unbearable for her, adding other complications such as a rise in sugar (650), the appearance of a bacterium, as well as mental confusion.
</div>
<div>The most difficult part of this situation has been listening to mom crying out for mercy from God, saying “I can’t handle this anymore”, calling her mom and her dad.
</div>
<div>She is receiving insulin to lower her blood sugar levels, morphine to ease her pain and distress, antibiotics to fight the bacteria, and home care from a nurse for administration of treatments and proper handling of the wound.

<div>Today, my mom is more relieved but she is still in bed and under the influence of morphine, but with all the care, affection and attention from ANA (the nurse who is an angel of God), from my dad (who is without doubt one of the most affected) and my brother Juan Carlo, who has had the hardest part of being involved every day in the complicated search for medicines, daily meals, looking for and taking medical personnel, etc, for when I have left Venezuela for 8 years and my legal status still does not allow me to leave the country where I am.

<div>I can not count the amount of times that she has gone out of his way to help others. 
</div>
<div>The DAILY expenses have been between $200 and $400 without counting the fees of the medical staff.

<div>Ella está recibiendo insulina para bajar los niveles de azúcar, morfina para aliviar su dolor y angustia, antibióticos para combatir la bacteria, y la atención en casa de una enfermera para la administración de los tratamientos y la manipulación adecuada de la herida.

<div>Hoy, mi Mami está más aliviada pero sigue en cama y bajo los efectos de la morfina, pero con todos los cuidados, cariños y atenciones por parte de ANA (la enfermera que es un ángel de Dios), de mi papá (que es sin duda uno de los más afectados) y de mi hermano Juan Carlo a quien le ha tocado la parte más dura que implica estar todos los días en la complicada búsqueda de las medicinas, las comidas diarias, buscar y llevar al personal médico, etc, por cuanto yo tengo 8 años que salí de Venezuela y mi estatus legal no me permite aún salir del país donde me encuentro.

<div>No puedo contar la cantidad de veces que mi mamá se ha esforzado por ayudar a los demás. 
</div>
<div>Los gastos DIARIOS han estado entre los $200 y $400 sin contar los honorarios del personal médico.

Los doctores en panamá confirmaron que algunos de los implantes habían perdido agarre a los huesos, y que se requería un nuevo procedimiento quirúrgico. Tiene riesgo de que se fracture la mandíbula por la debilitación de los huesos alrededor de los implantes existentes.

Mi Padre: <strong>Carlos Honorio Arocha, </strong>Odontólogo retirado luego de 50 de ejercicio profesional, ayudando de forma solidaria a innumerables personas, musico de corazon,divertido y optimista,querido y respetado por todos los que le conocen, se encuentra con un cuadro clínico complicado actualmente en Caracas/Venezuela (donde los costos de la salud y las condiciones de los hospitales hacen sumamente difícil sufragar los gastos necesarios para recuperar su salud). En la madrugada del día 23 de Enero, sufrió una caída por debilidad y deshidratación sin posibilidad de levantarse por sus propios medios durante muchas horas (se trata de un nonagenario). Please help our Mom beat cancer!

<p>A pesar de que una artritis reumatoidea la afecta desde los 50 años, Carmen Pilar Guanipa de Dagnino jamás se ha dejado abatir. Pero hoy, a sus 88 años, atraviesa las dolorosas consecuencias de una caída aparatosa con politraumatismos: fracturas del cuello del húmero y de la cadera izquierda. Por esta razón, debe someterse de forma inmediata a una cirugía para colocación de prótesis en ambos miembros.
</p>

<p>Por su edad avanzada y por la severidad de las lesiones, se estima que requerirá terapia intensiva y cuidados posteriores de enfermería y rehabilitación. Debido a lo oneroso que resulta todo este procedimiento, sus hijos, Francisco y Maruja Dagnino, nos vemos en la necesidad de pedirles ayuda para que nuestra madre pueda salir airosa de este trance y vuelva a ser la que siempre ha sido.  Lamentablemente, por patologías y edad, Carmen no fue aceptada en ninguna empresa de seguros previamente. Finalmente, Carmen será intervenida en la fundación Hospital Ortopédico Infantil de Caracas.<br /><br />Estamos seguros de que la vejez es una de las más bellas etapas de la vida y merece ser vivida con plenitud.

<p>La foto de Vianney que encabeza esta petición es de hace 21 años. La tomó Luis MIguel Molina cuando fuimos a Buenos Aires en una aventura pionera de Internet, el comercio electrónico y los medio en línea de América Latina. Tucarro.com no tuvo éxito en ese intento de expansión como si lo logró en otros cuantos lugares. Pero, ¡cuánto nos divertimos, cuánta vida y entusiasmo compartimos! Fue una experiencia vital que cimentó una amistad que perdura, basada en compartir éxitos y fracasos, alegrías y tristezas, con amor por la vida y un cariño entrañable.

<p>El paso del tiempo, y ahora la muerte de Vianney, fortalece aún más nuestros vínculos.

<p>Vianney llegó a España hace varios años, buscando las raíces de sus abuelos y una vida mejor que nuestra querida Venezuela no ha logrado dar a sus habitantes. Cuando llegó por primera vez a Almería, fue amor a primera vista. Sintió que esa era su casa. Junto con su esposa Adriana, decidió hacer allí su hogar.

<p>Vianney fue una persona muy creativa, Vivió intensamente. Quienes lo conocimos recordaremos siempre su energía y vitalidad, su inteligencia y buen humor, su picardía. Fue notable su espíritu explorador y emprendedor que dejó huella en personas y organizaciones. En memoria de Vianney Agustín Sánchez García

El Maestro  Alfredo Rugeles atraviesa una situación de salud delicada, acaba de ser diagnosticado de Covid-19 y fue hospitalizado por deficiencias respiratorias.  Como tantos venezolanos, artistas, profesores universitarios, una menguada póliza de seguro nos deja desamparados en unas pocas horas. Está hospitalizado en el Instituto Clínico La Florida.<br /><br />Alfredo es una de nuestros más queridos directores de orquesta venezolanos, cuarenta años de carrera en pro de la música en Venezuela al frente de la Orquesta Municipal de Caracas y por 25 años de la Sinfónica Simón Bolívar. Paralela a su incansable labor pedagógica en importantes  universidades (IUDEM, USB) donde ha formado muchos y muy importantes jóvenes directores. Compositor de talento, Director del Festival Latinoamericano de Música al que ha dedicado 30 años de su vida  por la música de los compositores latinoamericanos y venezolanos. Pero sobre todo un ser humano generoso, sensible, desinteresado, amante de su familia  que hoy necesita de ustedes, de todos sus amigos para afrontar esta crisis, que con fe y cuidados médicos superará.<br /><br />Necesitamos de su ayuda para recuperar la salud de nuestro querido Maestro Rugeles, un venezolano excepcional. <br /><br />Maestro Alfredo Rugeles is going through a delicate health situation, he has just been diagnosed with Covid-19 and was hospitalized for respiratory deficiencies. Ayuda al Mtro. Rugeles para superar COVID

(English version below)<br /><br />Mi nombre es Miguel Rivas, soy el tercero de cuatro hijos de un padre ejemplar, honesto, respetuoso, buen esposo y sobre todo apasionado por la investigación literaria de mi país, Venezuela. Me encuentro en la necesidad de recolectar fondos para cubrir los gastos de una urgente intervención cardiológica y posterior tratamiento para mi padre Rafael Ángel Rivas Dugarte. <br /><br />Los últimos días de diciembre del 2020, mi padre comenzó a sentirse mal, y sin querer molestar a nadie, se lo reservó, debido a que un mes antes habían intervenido a mi madre, su esposa, de un tumor en la amígdala y los gastos de su operación nos dejaron sin fondos. Sin embargo, los síntomas se fueron agravando y es por eso que el día 2 de enero decide decirnos que sentía dolor en el pecho y fatiga al caminar. Inmediatamente llamamos a su médico cardiólogo, quien lo ingresó con carácter de urgencia en una clínica en la ciudad de Caracas, para realizarle exámenes, los cuales indicaron que mi padre había sufrido un infarto días atrás y que se encontraba con una <strong>obstrucción arterial coronaria en dos vasos principales</strong>, motivo por el cual el 3 de enero requirió una intervención de urgencia para realizar un cateterismo y una angioplastia. En este procedimiento se colocó un stent coronario y se nos hizo saber que por escasez de material no se pudo colocar un segundo stent, razón por la cual es imprescindible llevar a cabo en las semanas subsiguientes un estricto seguimiento médico para determinar si la condición se puede controlar con medicación o si va a requerir de una nueva intervención. <br /><br />En Venezuela, al igual que muchos otros servicios, el sistema de salud pública está completamente colapsado, por lo tanto la urgente intervención debió realizarse en un establecimiento privado. El costo total de operación y tratamiento se estimó en un monto aproximado de <strong>13 MIL DÓLARES</strong>, suma con la que no contábamos. Sin embargo, la clínica aceptó un convenio para realizar el pago en cuotas, el cual deberá estar saldado para continuar con los estudios y tratamientos que se requieren.<br /><br />Mi país se encuentra sumergido en la peor crisis del siglo, en él cohabitan el hambre, la inseguridad y la escasez de alimentos e insumos médicos, lo que ha causado la migración de miles y miles de venezolanos, incluyéndome a mí y a mis hermanos. En Venezuela cosas tan básicas y elementales como tener suministro estable y seguro de servicios como agua, electricidad, internet o combustible, no es posible. Adicionalmente, el país se encuentra desde hace años en hiperinflación, teniendo así un salario promedio de 2 dólares mensuales, mientras los alimentos e insumos se comercializan a precio internacional y en moneda extranjera. <br /><br />Mi padre ha dedicado su vida a la educación y formación de nuevos profesionales para el país, en simultáneo con tareas de investigación orientadas principalmente a documentar la vida y obra de autores venezolanos. Además de su destacada trayectoria académica, ha sido un excelente padre, por lo cual humildemente hoy recurro a este medio para solicitar una colaboración que le permita disfrutar más años de vida, en los cuales nos reencontremos y él pueda seguir haciendo lo que más ama y lo que nos llena de tanto orgullo: Escribir.<br /><br />Cualquier colaboración, sin importar el monto, sino la generosidad y solidaridad, será bienvenida y les estaremos eternamente agradecidos. For this reason, on January 3rd an urgent intervention was performed, which consisted of catheterization and angioplasty. The placing of two coronary stents was necessary, but only the most urgent was placed, given the shortage of supplies. Consequently, an strict medical supervision will be carried out in order to evaluate if the condition can be controlled with only medication, or if an additional intervention will be needed. <br /><br />In Venezuela, the public health system as well as many other services have collapsed, for this reason the procedure was carried out in a private health establishment. The costs of the surgical intervention and the treatment is estimated in 13 thousand dollars, an amount of money we did not possess. Nevertheless, the clinic accepted a fractional payment agreement, that must be given in order to continue with the studies and the required treatment.<br /><br />My country is currently immersed in the worst crisis of the century, where hunger, insecurity and shortages of food and supplies coexist, causing the migration of thousands, including me and my brothers. In Venezuela basic things such as stable and secure supplies of water, electricity, internet connection and fuel are not guaranteed. Moreover, the economy has been going through an hyperinflationary process over the last years, reducing the mean salary to two dollars a month, while food and supplies are commercialized at international prices and in foreign currency.<br /><br />My father has devoted his life to the education and professional formation of venezuelans, carrying out simultaneously an intense research activity mainly concerning the documentation of the life and work of venezuelan writers. It is with great sadness to announce that one of our big "Littles" has died. Mario Davila and Yoly Davila Ripepi's son, Santiago, was found yesterday. Carlos Alfredo was like a brother to me. We knew each other since high school and last week he passed away after contracting COVID-19. He was 51 years old and everything happened so quickly that we are still in shock. He was such a nice human being, always caring for others and bringing us closer to one and other. He was in Caracas, Venezuela where his family lives, which given the situation in the country adds another layer of stress for all. We are heartbroken and worried about his family as he was living with his mother Miriam (70), his 96-year old aunt and his 2 nephews (7 and 10 years old). <br /><br />I would like to raise money in September to help Carlos’s family and bring them some relief from the emotional pain and financial difficulties they are dealing with. Nos conocíamos desde el colegio y la semana pasada falleció tras contratar a COVID-19. Tenía 51 años y todo sucedió tan rápido que aún estamos en shock. Era un ser humano tan hermoso, siempre se preocupaba por los demás y siempre creando unión y comunidad. Vivía en Caracas, Venezuela, donde vive su familia, lo cual, dada la situación del país, añade otra capa de estrés para todos. <strong>For English version below of Spanish version</strong><br /><br /><strong>Per la versione italiana leggi sotto, dopo la versione inglese</strong> <br /><br /><br />Mi hermano Marco tiene 48 años, en enero de este año fue diagnosticado de Insuficiencia Renal Cronica, a partir de este diagnostico comenzó su tratamiento de diálisis 3 veces por semana. Estas diálisis se están realizando a través de un catéter provisional mientras que se coloca una fistula. Esto ha traido como problemas infecciones recurrentes a nivel de catéter  que han requerido varias hospitalizaciones en corto tiempo. <br /><br />Marco necesita tu ayuda para poder realizarse un transplante de riñon. <br /><br />Los riñones regulan la tensión, ayudan en la creación de glóbulos rojos y otras funciones importantes, cosas que la diálisis no hace. Y cada vez que lo dializan, a pesar de que su sangre es filtrada y limpiada, su función renal empeora y su oportunidad para un trasplante exitoso disminuye. <br /><br />Marco es abogado, casado y con una hija de 9 años. Vive en Venezuela. Venezuela está atravesando una crisis económica, social y política que se ve reflejada en su sistema de salud. La unica oportunidad que tiene es que este transplante se realice en una clinica privada. El sector de salud publico no presta este servicio. <br /><br />Por esta razón, hemos decidido abrir esta cuenta. <br /><br />Mi hermano es un hombre, increíble, trabajador, generoso y con mucho sentido del humor. Quien lo conoce puede dar fe de ello. As a result of this diagnosis he has begun blood dialysis treatments 3-times per week. These dialysis treatments are being done through a temporary catheter while a fistula is placed. This temporary catheter has brought on reoccurring infections requiring several hospitalizations. <br /><br />Marco needs your help to get a kidney transplant.<br /><br />The kidneys are a critical bodily organ that not only filter the blood to remove waste and excess water, but they help in the creation of new red blood cells and other important functions. While the dialysis treatment are able to filter the blood, these other critical functions are falling further and further behind. Each time he receives a dialysis treatment his kidney functions actually worsen and his chances for a successful transplant decrease.<br /><br />Marco is a husband, and a father of a 9-year old daughter. He lives in his home country of Venezuela, which many of you may know is going through one of the worst economic, social, and political crises of the 21st century. These crises unfortunately are very apparent in the health system in Venezuela today which struggles to provide care for those in need. The only chance of getting a kidney transplant in Venezuela right now is for it to be done in a private clinic, which will add considerably to an already expense procedure.<br /><br />To help give Marco a chance to live to be a husband and father to his family, we are opening this account and asking for your help!<br /><br />My brother is an incredible, hard-working, and generous man with a great sense of humor. Dopo questa diagnosi ha iniziato la dialisi 3 volte a settimana. Il trattamento viene eseguito attraverso un catetere temporaneo inserito su una fistola artero-venosa. Ciò, purtroppo,  ha causato ricorrenti infezioni che lo hanno costretto a numerosi ricoveri ospedalieri.<br /><br /> Marco ha bisogno del tuo aiuto per ottenere un trapianto di rene.<br /><br />I reni regolano la pressione, aiutano nella creazione di globuli rossi e sovrintendono ad altre funzioni importanti, cose che la dialisi non è in grado di fare. Inoltre ogni volta che si sottopone a dialisi, anche se il suo sangue viene filtrato e pulito, le sue funzioni renali peggiorano facendo così diminuire le chance di riuscita di un intervento di trapianto.<br /><br />Marco è un avvocato, sposato con una figlia di 9 anni e vive in Venezuela.   <br /><br />Il paese, purtroppo, sta attraversando una crisi economica, sociale e politica che si riflette inevitabilmente sul suo sistema sanitario.<br /><br />L’unica possibilità per potersi sottoporsi a trapianto è in una clinica privata perché la sanità pubblico non fornisce questo servizio.<br /><br />Per questo motivo, abbiamo deciso di avviare questa raccolta fondi.<br /><br />Mio fratello è un uomo incredibile, laborioso, generoso con un grande senso dell'umorismo. Marco needs a Kidney transplant

Queridos amigos..<br /><br />En esta oportunidad, les pido su atención, necesitamos de ustedes. A principios de diciembre de 2019, le fue diagnosticado a Tania, mi tia (y mama de Alirio y Claudia), un <strong>Adenocarcinoma acinar en el pulmón derecho, con metástasis a nivel del sistema nervioso central que la dejó impedida poder caminar y hacer su vida normal</strong>. La noticia del diagnóstico, fue devastadora para toda la familia, pues Tania, siempre ha sido una mujer independiente y muy activa en su casa, con los suyos y en la vida. <br /><br />Los primeros gastos, los hemos podido sufragar entre toda la familia; sin embargo, hay que afrontar nuevos gastos en medicinas, quimioterapia y otros tratamientos.  En vista de la crisis económica que todos conocemos en Venezuela, se nos está haciendo muy difícil contar con los fondos necesarios para sufragarlos.<br /><br />El costo de todo el tratamiento, es de aproximadamente 15.000$ que esperamos recaudar con el apoyo de muchos de ustedes, para pagar todo lo que falta, por eso acudimos a su generosidad y buena voluntad para que nos ayudes con los que quieras y puedas.  Infinitas gracias y que Dios les pague grandemente

Hi, my name is Elena and I wanted to share with you that a couple of months ago I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Since then, I assume the challenge to overcome this terrible disease with the help of my family and friends. However, the treatment is very expensive and really difficult to find in Venezuela. We are forced to buy it outside of Venezuela using US dollars, but the cost is too high and we cannot afford it.<br /><br />I tell you all of this, to ask for your support to complete my treatment and defeat this obstacle that life has placed in my path, so I can continue to enjoy my life with my husband, sons, and grandchildren whom I wish to see grow.<br /><br />I am already thankful for all the support that you can give me and God bless you.<br /><br />Hola soy Elena. quería contarles que hace un par de meses fui diagnosticada con linfoma no hodgkin.  Desde entonces, asumí el reto de superar esta terrible enfermedad con la ayuda de mi familia y amigos.  Sin embargo, por los altos costos de los medicamentos y la imposibilidad de conseguirlos en Venezuela, nos obliga a conseguirlos en otros mercados donde la moneda es el dólar, algo que nos representa un costo demasiado alto para cubrirlo con los ahorros que se poseen y que ya  han ayudado a cubrir 2 de las 6 tomas.<br /><br />Es por esto que hoy llego a ustedes, para pedirles su apoyo económico para completar mi tratamiento, y vencer el reto que me a puesto la vida ( como sé que voy a hacer) y seguir disfrutando con mi esposo, hijos y mis dos nietecitos a quienes quiero ver crecer.<br /><br />Desde ya les agradezco todo el apoyo que me puedan brinda y que dios los bendiga.

Hi, I'm Antonio Suárez and I live in Venezuela.<br />In September of 2015 I suffered a pathological hip fracture, which resulted in having to put in a surgical pin on my hip. In November of 2016, the fracture apparently consolidated and the doctors proceeded to remove part of the material placed initially, which had loosened and was hurting me, leaving the rest of it.<br />Later in April of 2017 I had to remove the remaining material and perform a surgical cleaning because of osteomyelitis, and I was prescribed antibiotic treatment for a period of 5 months.<br />From this point on, I could no longer walk and I was forced to leave work and stay at home. In November of 2017 I underwent a new surgical intervention in which I was placed a temporary spacer along with antibiotics.<br />The fact is that I still can not work, my movements are very limited due to the uncertainty about the resistance of the material that the doctors put in me.<br />The next step which would allow me to walk again and use my own means, would be to get a revision prosthetic that is not available in my country and has a cost of US$ 3,000.00.<br />I have tried to get help in several institutions, but are only able to make contributions in the local currency, so I have not managed to collect the amount necessary to procure this prosthetic. This tagged along with the medical expenses and hospitalization adds up to around US$2,000.00.<br />In no way possible I am able to afford this, the income from my wife's work is barely enough to cover our basic needs.<br />For all this I see myself in the need to ask for your help to be able to complete this operation, recover my normal life and use my own means and go back to work. I deeply appreciate anything you can do for me and my family.<br /><br />My cousin's wife lives in Canada and has offered to help me to collect the donations received.<br /><br />Thank you very much for your cooperation and hope life pays you back your generosity.<br /><br />God bless you.

Please help me to walk again

I am heartbroken to be writing that my uncle, Will Marquez, has passed away on August 28th, due to Chronic Pneumonia. He fought as hard as he could for 3 weeks in a Venezuelan intensive care unit but unfortunately, he lost his battle and we, as a family, are heartbroken.  It is hard for me to express the loss and devastation that our family feels right now, but we would like to remember all of the amazing memories that we shared with him.<br /><br /><br />My uncle was loved by everyone he encountered. He was a funny, enthusiastic, outgoing and all around an amazing human being. He shared his good humor, joy of life, and passion for music with every person he met. His energy was infectious and will far outlive his short time with all of us.<br /><br /><br />Aside from a few of us in the US who are left to mourn, Will left behind his beautiful family, mom, brothers, sister, wife and children.  Due to the volatile economic, political, and social climate in Venezuela right now, these heartbroken family members are not only left without their wonderful father and husband, but they are left in dire straits financially. They need our help now more than ever. We hope to raise enough money to cover his medical bills, funeral costs, and his family’s current expenses.
