 Hi I’m Genesis lopez today im here making this GoFundMe to help my family after my uncle passed away yesterday morning. This has been a really hard and painful time for all of us, and we’re trying our best to get through it together. We’re raising money to help with the expenses and everything our family needs during this difficult time. Anything helps, even just sharing this or keeping my family in your thoughts.

In Memory of Our Beloved Tio punga

<div>Our minds will still talk to you, our hearts will still look for you, but our souls know you are at peace.
</div>

</div>
<div>On October 16, 2023, we all lost a beautiful, brave, and benevolent woman. After a week in the ICU with unmatched family/friends and honorable doctors/nurses by her side, God relieved her of her suffering.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Melanie was a fierce, strong, and kind-hearted woman. Everyone who knows her would describe her as a “fighter,” and in the last two years, she showed us what that meant.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Starting in October of 2021, she began having unexplainable symptoms that were only later connected to a diagnosis of Stage 4 colon cancer. After her surgery in December of 2021 to remove the mass found, she immediately began chemotherapy and did so for 6 months. We celebrated her remission in July 2022 and have been by her side for an entire year as she continued to go through numerous exams and tests to continue to rule out signs of recurrence. On September 11, 2023, Melanie had another major surgery, which included a complete hysterectomy. Only a month later, Melanie heroically fought to get herself and her youngest daughter out of the car after hitting a tree and plummeting into the San Joaquin River. What we know at this time about the incident is a testimony to her determination, resilience, and love for her family.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Melanie leaves behind her Husband of 15 years and three beautiful kids: her youngest daughter (5), who she heroically saved, her only son (23), and her oldest daughter (27). Melanie also left behind a bonus child whom she raised, her little sister (30). Melanie’s love was unconditional, and her family is vast. Her unwavering love, kindness, and compassion for everyone she interacted with was special and something you don’t see often.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We are so grateful that in her time of need, there were good samaritans with hearts of gold to selflessly jump into action. At this time, we have become informed of three individuals who were at the scene of the incident that made the ultimate and unparalleled decision to sacrifice themselves to rescue Melanie and her 5-year-old daughter. Eddie Gerardo "Topollo" Cervantes Lora lost his life in a true act of heroism that helped bring a little girl home. Individuals like Topollo, with such empathy and compassion, are sent from heaven. We are thankful for the three individuals' strength, courage, and dedication to the welfare of others.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Words are not enough to thank all those involved in bringing our sweet baby girl to shore. Although we have lost Melanie since the incident, we will always be thankful that she was given an opportunity to fight one last time for a chance at living a full life.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We want to fulfill her wishes as we lay her to rest and kiss her goodbye one last time.
</div>
<div>Our family is currently asking for donations to help cover the cost of medical expenses and funeral/memorial costs.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you, and we would appreciate any form of support, including sharing this link with anyone you know.

<div>In a world where acts of kindness and selflessness can sometimes feel rare, we were blessed to know a remarkable soul who embodied these qualities — Topollo, Eddie Gerardo Cervantes Lora. He was 41 years old.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Our beloved Topollo, touched the lives of many with his compassion and unwavering love for others.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>On Tuesday, October 10, 2023, we tragically lost Topollo, a real-life hero who selflessly sacrificed his life to save a woman and her 5-year-old daughter from a harrowing car accident. Their vehicle ended up submerged in the San Joaquin River near his home. After successfully rescuing the young girl, Topollo heroically re-entered the water in search of the woman, making the ultimate sacrifice in his act of valor. We seek your support to honor his memory and assist his family during this difficult time.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Topollo's love for family was unwavering. "Family first" was not just a motto but a way of life for him. Hanging out with family was of utmost importance, and he cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. He adored his three wonderful children, Michelle (17), Gerardo (16), and Addie (4). Topollo also cherished his beloved wife, Norma and the many years they have spent together as a family. To them, Topollo is not just a hero to strangers but a superhero within the family.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Topollo's spirit shined brightly in his everyday actions. He was a happy person, and his happiness was contagious. He had a knack for making those around him smile, and his laughter was a gift to all who spent even a few minutes with him. He was also the kind of person who put others before himself, a true embodiment of a Good Soul. His compassion knew no bounds, and he radiated love, warmth, and kindness to everyone he encountered.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Topollo had a special place in his heart for horses and spending time outdoors. As his family’s only source of income and a true breadwinner, his hardworking spirit was an inspiration to all who knew him, and a testament to the dedication and love he poured into every aspect of his life. Today, we ask everyone not to dwell on the tragic incident that took him from us but to celebrate his life because he made the world a better place.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As his Family makes plans to celebrate Topollo's life, we aim to support his family in providing him with a farewell that befits the hero he was. This GoFundMe campaign asks for your generous support to help create a fund that can provide for his three young children, Michelle, Gerardo, and Addie; and to help pay for his funeral and memorial services. Your contributions will help ensure that Topollo receives the heartfelt tribute he deserves, and to ensure his legacy lives on.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Topollo leaves behind his wife and kids, his Mother Gloria, his siblings Brenda, Orlando, Emilio, and the rest of our family who can now truly attest that not all heroes wear capes – Topollo wore a cowboy hat.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If you would like to attend Topollo's Memorial Services, visitation will take place on 10/19 from 10.30a - 4p, with a Rosary Prayer at 2p, at Park View Cemetery and Funeral Home in Manteca, Ca.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Funeral Service is on 10/20, 11.30a, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Lathrop, CA.

<div><strong>En Memoria de Eddie Gerardo "Topollo" Cervantes Lora</strong>.
</div>
<div><strong>Introducción:</strong>
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>El Hermoso Recuerdo:</strong>
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Celebrando su Legado:</strong>
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Un Tributo con Amor:</strong>
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
