<div>Hi, my name is Lauren &amp; I am running my first Half Marathon at the AJ Bell Great Manchester Run on 31st May 2026. I am not a typical or fast runner and have previously run in only 3 official 10k races so this is a massive personal challenge for me. I'd like to raise some funds to help Kirsty in her fight against breast cancer. I don't know Kirsty personally but her sister, Kerry, is a friend of mine and I found Kirsty's story so moving that I wanted to help.

<div>Kirsty is 42—and she is fighting to stay alive for her three young children.
</div>

<div>In June 2023, at 25 weeks pregnant, she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
</div>
<div>She went through chemotherapy while carrying her baby, delivered safely at 36 weeks, and kept going through surgery and treatment with incredible strength and a sense of humour and personality that lights up every room.

<div>But now, things have changed.

<div>The cancer has progressed
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Kirsty is living with secondary breast cancer.
</div>

</div>
<div>It has spread to her bones, and there is now a new tumour in her supraclavicular lymph node.
</div>
<div>Her cancer has also mutated—changing to HER2-positive, a more aggressive form that requires new treatment.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>HER2-positive cancer also carries a higher risk of spreading to the brain—where treatment becomes even more complex.
</div>

<div>Kirsty is still well.
</div>
<div>Still active. Still being mum.
</div>

<div>But, she has had to quit work and move out of the family home, to help pay for future treatments not available on the NHS.

<div>A brain scan to rule out further progression
