 Hello, my lovely colleague's son and family have lost everything in a devastating house fire yesterday morning (19.08.2026), they escaped with only the clothes that they were sleeping in. As a family of 3 preparing to become a family of 4 this is one of the worst things that could possibly happen, they come from a family who give their all to everyone around them and never ask for anything in return.

 This young, growing family have lost their beloved fur baby (Marshal) as well as all their belongings leaving them lost &amp; heartbroken. We can't bring everything back to them but we are hoping to raise some money so they can slowly rebuild their lives and move out of the motel room they are currently staying in. So if you are able to donate even a small amount or share this story we would be eternally grateful.

 Donations will go towards funding for a new rental property, a new car, new appliances, clothing &amp; furniture just to name a few. We thank Tom &amp; all emergency service crews who were at the scene for all their hard work and to Tom, we cannot thank you enough from the bottom of our hearts for saving them; without you this would have been catastrophic.

Rebuilding after devastating house fire

<div>I am raising funds on behalf of Firefighter Neil Fisher and his family, who are long-standing and highly respected members of our local community. Neil has proudly served with the Balaklava Country Fire Service for 53 years and remains an active and dedicated firefighter. Over more than five decades, Neil has responded to hundreds of incidents, consistently putting his own safety on the line to protect others across our region and the wider South Australian community.

<div>On 24 January 2026 at 4:33 pm, Neil and his family lost everything when a fire completely destroyed their home. This devastating loss has left them without their house, personal belongings, and essential household items.
</div>

<div>The funds raised through this appeal will go directly to supporting the Fisher family as they begin the long process of rebuilding. Donations will be used to assist with immediate living expenses, including temporary accommodation, clothing, food, and essential household items. Funds will also help cover rebuilding and recovery costs, such as replacing furniture, appliances, personal possessions, and contributing toward construction and associated expenses not covered by insurance.

<div>I am trying to help a dear friend of 38 years, Teresa, raise funds to take Wendy to Wales. Teresa is 100% aware of this as I asked her permission to do this. All funds raised will go directly to her.
</div>
<div>We are trying to raise funds to get Teresa on a plane to take back Wendy's ashes to her only remaining relatives in Wales.
</div>

<div>We all met in High School in 1985. And became friends. There were a big group of us.
</div>
<div>Over the years and life, we all kept in contact, Wendy and Teresa were best buddies. Unfortunately as Wendy aged, her health started declining. So for the past 20 years Teresa selflessly put her own life on hold to become Wendy's full time carer. She needed a wheelchair on bad days. And could make do with her cane or walker on the better ones. Unfortunately in September of 2022 Wendy's health took a bad turn and she ended up have her left leg amputated 12cm above her left knee, and from there her heart, kidneys and liver started to fail. She started on dialysis for her kidneys, and Teresa has been there for it all. Including having 3 babies of her who are now all grown, but came to be Wendy's niece and nephews. She is one of the most kindest and amazing people I've had the privilege to call my friend. Wendy's dying wish was to have her ashes taken back to Wales, to her remaining blood relatives whom she had kept in close contact with since leaving Wales with her Mam at a young age.

<div>Even $1 will help. Funeral expenses have wiped out bereavement payment and anything will help.
</div>
