<div>Our dear friends, Leah and Ramiro Rodriguez, need our support. For those who don't know, Eliana will undergo surgery tomorrow, Dec. 5, to remove a mass in her salivary gland. She is in good hands at Dell Children’s Medical Center, but the procedure will cost around 7,000 dollars.

<div>Unfortunately, federal law enforcement has detained her father and Leah's husband, Ramiro, after state troopers pulled him over for a burnt-out taillight. He won't be able to go to the hospital, and that means for at least some time, he will not be able to work.

<div>Hope is not lost. He can finally fight his case to stay, after a decade of marriage to a U.S. citizen (Leah). He has been paying taxes, running a business, owning a home, contributing to our community, and raising a family.
</div>

<div>The emotional cost of Ramiro's detention is huge, but so is the financial cost, and especially at a time when they are facing medical expenses, they need your assistance. They still need to pay their mortgage, buy food, they will have doctor visits, and they've lost his income.

<div>On July 2nd, my younger brother John died by suicide. He was 20 years old.

<div>He left me a note telling me he knew I would be successful and that I should continue to work hard.

<div>I’ve decided that <strong><em>the best way to honor his life</em></strong> is to follow my dream of becoming an author.

<div>I’m going to write a book called "How to Live." <strong>The goal of this book is to create something that can help young men who are struggling with the same darkness John faced</strong>. To do this, I plan to interview people from all walks of life, including pastors, addicts, students, athletes, and others with powerful stories to share. I don’t know how long this project will take, but I do know that nothing feels more important to me than seeing it through.

<div><strong>I’m asking for donations so I can take time off work and fully dedicate myself to starting this project.</strong> I’ll be documenting the entire process on my Instagram and YouTube in hopes that people around the world can see that there is light, even in the darkest times. I’ve already connected with thousands of people going through similar struggles. Although I can no longer be a role model for John, I want to be a role model for them.

<div>Lynda continues to wage her brave fight against cancer.  She had surgery and completed radiation.  Unfortunately, the cancer isn’t gone quite yet.  Last week, she started the first of 14 additional rounds of chemotherapy.  This time, she will receive two medicines instead of four, so she hopes to return to work at least part-time by May.  Until then, she could really use some additional financial help.  We are so grateful for the incredibly generous support our colleagues have already shared, and would appreciate any additional gifts you may choose to contribute at this time.

Fun fact: she has not only been nominated for a staff award, but also the Austin Office Bravery Award, for her humane rescue and release of the birds who find themselves inside the Austin office.

At the UMLAUF Sculpture Garden + Museum, we are honored to safeguard the incredible works of Charles Umlauf, an artist who believed in the tactile, interactive nature of art. He wanted everyone—young or old—to not only view but also touch and experience his sculptures up close.

<div>Recently, the granite pedestal supporting one of our beloved sculptures, Entrance to Jerusalem, collapsed, causing damage to the piece. This alarming event prompted us to assess the structural integrity of the bases of all our sculptures. The findings were sobering: sixteen sculptures were identified with potential issues, and four are in critical condition, requiring immediate base replacements. Without this urgent intervention, we risk not only losing these precious works of art but also jeopardizing the safety of our visitors.

Support Estella's Fight Against Breast Cancer

<div>Paloma was one of a few students from Hidalgo County invited to attend the <a href="https://www.envisionexperience.com/explore-our-programs/junior-national-young-leaders-conference-56" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Junior National Young Leaders Conference</a> from June 18th to the 23rd. The conference will include developing leadership skills through hands-on experience including public speaking exercises, visiting historical sites, and touring Capitol Hill. She will also be grouped with other attendees and tasked with working on solutions to problems in today's society.

<div>Paloma intends to bring back the skills she learns and apply them locally throughout her years in middle school and high school. Once she's off to college only the sky will be the limit and you can say that you were there when we saw her take off.

<div><strong>Logan, at just 23 years of age,</strong> has been given a diagnosis that no parent ever wants to hear - cancer. Specifically, <strong>Hodgkin’s Lymphoma mixed cellularity type stage 2 a</strong>.

<div>Due to Logan’s warrior fitness level they recommend a treatment called <em><a href="https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMoa2405888" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">nivolumab</a></em> <em>+ AVD</em>. This treatment specifically protects her lungs. This is compromised of:
