I recently graduated from Ivy Tech and earned my license to be a counselor, which was a huge milestone for me and my son. I was so excited to start my new job in Henryville, Indiana, but getting there has become almost impossible. Within the past eight months, I bought two Dodge Nitro cars, hoping for reliability, but both had their motors lock up despite me keeping up with oil changes and maintenance. I later found out there was a recall on those models, but by then, it was too late. Not having a car has made every part of our lives harder. My son’s dad has been helping as much as he can, but his car is barely running and we’re worried it could break down at any moment. Getting my son to school and myself to work has become a daily struggle, and simple things like grocery shopping or making it to doctor’s appointments feel overwhelming. On top of that, I was in a bad car accident this year that left me with a broken collarbone and fractured sternum, making everything even more challenging. We don’t have much family support, and I know everyone has their own responsibilities and struggles. That’s why reaching out to our community is so hard, but we truly need help. If you’re able to support us, even a small amount would make a huge difference. Thank you for reading our story and for any kindness you can share. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you from me and my son.
