<div>Brent Parent Carers Forum CIC are launching a JustGiving page to support the creation of a sensory toy library. This initiative aims to provide children and families with access to a wide range of sensory toys, helping to promote inclusion and enhance their wellbeing. If you would like to contribute or learn more about how you can help, please visit our JustGiving page or get in touch for further details. Your support can make a real difference to families in our community.
</div>
<div>We are excited to announce our plans to establish a Sensory Toy Library for families in our community, an initiative designed to offer vital support for children’s learning and development. At Brent Parent Carers forum CIC, we understand that every child learns differently, and many children benefit greatly from sensory toys that stimulate their senses, encourage exploration, and support their ability to achieve and thrive both at home and in school.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Our vision for the Sensory Toy Library is to create a welcoming, inclusive resource where families can borrow a variety of sensory toys tailored to meet different needs and preferences. These toys can make a real difference for children who learn best through touch, sound, movement, or visual stimulation, providing opportunities for play that also help build essential skills. By making these resources more accessible, we aim to break down barriers to learning and ensure all children have the tools they need to succeed.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The Sensory Toy Library will be open to our member families, especially those who may find it challenging to purchase specialised toys due to cost or limited availability. We know that having access to the right toys can boost confidence, enhance wellbeing, and encourage children to reach their full potential. Whether it’s to support learning, help with relaxation, or simply to enjoy play, our library will offer something for everyone.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>To turn this vision into reality, we are launching a JustGiving page to raise the funds needed to purchase a wide selection of sensory toys and to cover running costs. We warmly invite you to support this project—whether by making a donation, spreading the word, or volunteering your time. Every contribution, big or small, will help us create a valuable resource for our community and make a real, lasting difference to families and children.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If you’d like to find out more about the Sensory Toy Library or how you can get involved, please visit our JustGiving page or contact us directly. Together, we can support every child’s journey to learn, grow, and achieve.

<div>✨ "Spread Joy this Christmas - Support Children and Families in Need!" ✨
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This Christmas, let's come together to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate. As seen on the BBC News and in local newspapers, our Christmas Campaign, "Joy this Christmas," is all about bringing happiness to children and families who need it the most.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Joy this Christmas was set up in 2018, to support local schools bring some happiness to children whose families are struggling financially. With your generous donations, we can provide them with the gift of joy and self worth by ensuring they have presents too, on Christmas morning.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Each child will receive a large gift bag each, which would normally include the following: a selection of books, selection of small toys or something the child would like (football and goalie gloves, doll and pram, ride on bike, board games, creative sets, building bricks / Lego, action figures etc), pyjama’s, hat and scarf sets and goodies such as selection boxes and hot chocolate.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>At Joy this Christmas, we aim to build each bag of gifts around the child's needs, likes and wishes. We ask the families as many questions as possible, to make sure that every child knows that we see them and value their individuality - this means if a child loves to read a certain book - we will do all we can to gift the collection to them or maybe they love sport and a particular team, or arts and crafts, science or music. Everyone is different and we want to celebrate that by doing all we can to match your donations to the right child. At Joy this Christmas, we also ensure that all children in the household will receive a gift bag whether they are babies or teenagers. No one is forgotten about.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thanks to the overwhelming amount of support received last year, we managed to raise over £2000, alongside receiving gifts from our Amazon wish list and donations of new and pre loved toys and clothing. The Go Fund Me donations were used to help us buy coats, a huge selection of games and toys, books, batteries, selection boxes, slippers, hats, gloves, and jumpers.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Each year we reach out to additional schools to add them to the list. Last year, this meant we were able to support 261 children and their families to have a brighter Christmas. Thank you!

Joy This Christmas 2024

<div>Jim (James) Foyle had a five-decade long career as a Clinical Psychologist, and was Head of Psychology Services, allied to medicine, at Haringey Council.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>He was husband to Carol, father to four children, Emma, Alison, Lizzie and Jon and a doting grandfather (GOG) to Anna, Joe, Max and Jessica.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>He was diagnosed with bladder cancer early in 2022 and died peacefully at home on Thursday 13th July 2023.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We are asking for people to kindly donate in his memory and have chosen two charitable causes who Carol not only works with but meant a great deal to Jim, too. These are <a href="https://greenwichpcpf.org" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Greenwich PCPF</a> (Parent Carer Participation Forum) and <a href="https://brentpcf.org" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Brent PCF</a> (Parent Carer Forum). These groups are run by volunteer parents all with a child/young person with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) from 0-25 years.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>With these donations, we hope to establish a small grants fund for families with children and young people with SEND. All of the money will go towards helping them access leisure activities and support their health and happiness.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We would like this to be an on-going grant for the children, and hope to run fundraising events on his birthday and throughout the year. The donations will be shared 50/50 with both forums.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We feel that this grant reflects Jim's lifelong commitment to helping others in need and the perfect way of keeping his memory alive.

<font color="#333333"><br /></font><br />This Christmas, let's come together to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate. With your generous donations, we can provide them with the gift of joy by ensuring they have presents to unwrap on Christmas morning.

Your contribution will help us create smiles, laughter, and unforgettable moments during this special time of year. <br /><br />Joy this Christmas was set up in 2018 to bring some joy to children whose families are struggling financially. <div><strong>Empowering Children with Special Needs and Disabilities</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>THE HISTORY :</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Over two years on from when it was first set up, the Bridge SEND active play club has continued to welcome families with children with special needs and disabilities to our unique and inclusive setting. To date, we have over 100 families registered with us and with the support of Access Sport we regularly publicise upcoming sessions and specific events at the club.
</div>
<div>It was established in May 2021 with a mission to empower children with special needs and disabilities by creating a supportive environment that fosters inclusivity, understanding, and personal development. This mission remains the same today and our club sessions have continued to take place on Saturdays during term time, allowing children to participate in various activities, games, and sensory-based imaginative themes tailored to their unique needs. Through these engagements, we strive to enhance their cognitive, emotional, and physical abilities, enabling them to embrace life's challenges with confidence.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>SUMMARY OF NEED:</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>At the Bridge, we provide a safe, nurturing, and fun environment where children with special needs can attend without pre-booking, be themselves, and feel empowered through inclusive and specialist sports and dance activities. Our club is one of the few places where families can gather regularly, share experiences, and form strong connections with others in similar situations.
</div>
<div>Our SEND active play club seeks financial support to continue providing a much-needed haven for families and children with special needs and disabilities in our community. With your generous assistance, we aim to sustain and expand our services to offer more opportunities for growth, learning, and social interaction for these deserving children and their siblings.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>WHAT THE CLUB PROVIDES:</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>1.	Inclusivity:</strong> We believe in creating an atmosphere where every child feels valued and accepted. Our sessions are designed by trained staff who know how to accommodate individual needs, ensuring each child can participate and contribute to activities to the best of their ability.
</div>
<div><strong>2.	Family Bonding</strong>: Families with children who have special needs often face unique challenges. Our club acts as a support network, facilitating connections among parents, caregivers, and siblings. These interactions provide emotional and practical support, fostering a sense of community and understanding.
</div>
<div><strong>3.	Skill Development</strong>: Our team of dedicated professionals (Tiptoes and Tappers and Access Sport) work closely with individual children, tailoring activities to promote cognitive, social, and motor skill development. Through play-based learning, children can enhance their communication, problem-solving, and self-expression abilities.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>WHY IT IS IMPORTANT TO KEEP IT GOING:</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Sport and physical activity bring people together and no-one should be excluded from taking part. Disabled people are half as likely to participate in sport and physical activity compared to their non-disabled peers, primarily due to a lack of opportunity, inclusivity and accessibility. Covid-19 meant many of these families needed to shield and had little or no space or equipment to be physically active. This drastically affected many disabled children's physical and emotional wellbeing and further isolated them and their families from opportunities that previously existed.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>FUNDRAISING GOALS:</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>To continue and expand the impact of the SEND active play club we seek to raise £10,000. This will enable us to:
</div>
<div>1.	Sustain the existing club sessions and cover operational costs.
</div>
<div>2.	Expand our program offerings to include additional therapeutic and educational resources.
</div>
<div>3.	Enhance staff training to provide the highest level of support and care.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Please help us by making a financial contribution that will directly impact the lives of these children with special needs and disabilities, creating a lasting positive change for them and their families.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you for your support.
</div>

Mycenae Reach Out Project

The world is experiencing an unprecedented challenge.  It is more important than ever that we work together to support one another.  The Greenwich Food Bank Fund has launched to provide support to those most at need in our community.

The Greenwich Food Bank Fund

Right now many of us are understandably feeling anxious and vulnerable, but there are many among us that need immediate support in order to ensure that they can have access to food.

Greenwich residents have a proud history of looking after one another - and never has this been more important than now.

So I have been working with Greenwich Food Bank to create the Greenwich Food Bank Fund.  As the borough faces one of its most important challenges in living memory, the Fund has been set up to ensure that those in need across the borough have access to the help they need.

Please, even during this most difficult of times, we ask that - if possible - you donate and contribute to the common good of Greenwich.  Please be assured that even the smallest contribution can make the biggest difference.

Thank you for your generosity.

FAQs

Where will the funds go?

The funds will go directly to the most vulnerable people during this crisis.  They will be administered by the Greenwich Food Bank and delivered to food banks across the borough, from Blackheath to Eltham, Kidbrooke, Thamesmead and beyond.  A full list of food bank locations is available at <a href="https://greenwich.foodbank.org.uk/locations/." target="_blank" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://greenwich.foodbank.org.uk/locations/.</a>

If I donate will it go directly to those who need it?

Yes, your donation will go directly to Greenwich Food Bank.  Unlike some other platforms, GoFundMe does not charge a fundraising fee although it takes a small transaction fee.  See <a href="https://www.gofundme.com/c/free-fundraising" target="_blank" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://www.gofundme.com/c/free-fundraising</a> for more details.  You do not need to leave a 'tip' if you don't want to.

Will the money be spent in Greenwich?

Yes.

Is there anything else I can do?

The most immediate need is to raise finance, so that purchasing can continue.  However there is also a need to: (1) donate food where possible; and (2) create a team of delivery drivers as the Food Bank moves to a delivery model.  If you are able to help with either of these, please email [email redacted].uk.

Where can I find more information about Covid-19?

For general information on CV-19, please visit the Government website: <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/topical-events/coronavirus-covid-19-uk-government-response" target="_blank" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://www.gov.uk/government/topical-events/coronavirus-covid-19-uk-government-response</a> or the NHS at <a href="https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/." target="_blank" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/.</a>
