<div>In February 2021, I had the pandemic blues, and all of a sudden a bunch of happy <em>roots-rock-reggae</em> songs started pouring out of me, saving me from a dark spiritual oblivion. Throughout this period I also began writing and recording songs that were a return to my <em>rock and roll roots</em>. All of these songs began to slowly take shape during the long, cold, Canadian winters. One day, I realized that some or all of these songs could fit together on a new album. Three of the early songs I decided to put out as singles -<em>‘Lonely Days’ (2020) ’Summer’ (2022) &amp; ‘Pull It Together’ (2023) </em>

<div>What started as a solo album eventually expanded to include long time friends <em>Russ Goozee </em>as Recording Engineer, <em>Great Bob Scott </em>on Drums, <em>Richard Underhill</em> and <em>Perry White </em>on Sax, Steve Donald on Trombone (Leroy Sibbles) <em>Bryden Baird </em>(Cirque de Soleil, Feist) on Trumpet, Malagasy maestro <em>Donne Roberts</em> on Guitar, <em>Russ Goozee</em> on Keys, and <em>Russ, Kathryn Rose and Safoura Safavi</em> (Abjeez - Sweden) on Backing Vocals.

<div>Now, with 27 songs that I've almost finished mixing, it has morphed into A DOUBLE ALBUM! I can't wait to share them all with you!

<div>I’m working (slowly) on a doc about my dad.

<div>Terry Doyle was the kind of man who got dealt a rough hand and decided the joke was on whoever dealt it. That’s the whole movie, really. Not adversity overcome, but adversity outlasted, with a punchline ready the entire time.
</div>
<div>He was a Mountie once. Then he sold menswear. Then real estate. Somewhere in there he took the stage as an amateur performer, because why not, the man clearly liked an audience. It’s the resume of someone who never confused a job with an identity, who understood that you could be many things across one life and none of them had to be the “real” you, because they all were.
</div>
<div>He loved Jane, his wife, for as long as he had her. He loved his three kids the way fathers do when they’re paying attention, which is to say imperfectly and completely. And he loved golf, which tells you something too, a game built entirely on bad bounces and how you respond to them.
</div>
<div>Dear Ol’ Dad isn’t interested in turning Terry into a saint or a symbol. It just wants you to sit with a man who laughed until the end, because laughing was simply what he did with the time he had. No moral, no lesson, just a life lived loud and lopsided and entirely on his own terms.

<div>It’s a celebration, not an elegy. Terry would have insisted on that distinction.
</div>

<div>My father, who lived to be 87, hasn’t eaten or drunk anything for 20 years. He’s been fed through a stomach drip after surviving cancer. Despite this, his positive outlook and incredible sense of humor have always been contagious. I truly believe this documentary will uplift people. It’s filled with archival footage, hilarious photos, and even insights from his book Where Was I?, which raises a lot of fascinating questions.

<div>He was a born-again atheist, a gentleman, and a gentle man, with a sharp, wicked sense of humor. It's not a time sensitive project, so I work on it as money comes in...I aim to complete the project by the end of this year.

<div>From the time he began sharing his music with the world, Mark Kieswetter has given so much to so many - whether to those musicians with whom he's collaborated over the years or to those music lovers who have enjoyed what Mark has brought to the stage and recordings throughout his decades-long career.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In December of 2016, Mark was diagnosed with a terminal condition: stage 4 neuroendocrine cancer. Although the diagnosis was stage 4, the tumours were very slow growing - a small bit of light within some devastating news. Sadly, the cancer also brought with it a very rare side effect called Cerebellar Ataxia, which severely affected his cerebellum – the part of the brain which controls balance, motor control, coordination and sensory systems. This damage is irreversible. Along with this, Mark has also recently developed Type 1 diabetes as a result of the tumours beginning to shut down the pancreas.
</div>

</div>
<div>As a result, Mark could no longer play the piano, nor walk or stand unaided. Though cognitively completely functional, his condition makes even simple everyday tasks we all take for granted incredibly challenging. For several years, he was able to continue to share his musical gifts through teaching, composing and arranging, but now, as the tumours are growing and things progress, the physical obstacles are almost insurmountable.
</div>

</div>
<div>Not long after receiving his diagnosis, several of Mark’s friends joined forces in a concert that brought together most of the Toronto jazz community as well as Mark’s church family in a wonderful show of love and support for our friend as he transitioned to this new reality. Never one to complain or rely too heavily on others, Mark was humbled and touched by this endeavour, and he used the funds raised back in 2017 to supplement the work he was still able to do despite his health struggles.
</div>

</div>
<div>Mark is currently under hospice care, but his ability to take care of his living expenses is being more and more compromised by his worsening condition. The stress of this financial pressure exacerbates the ataxia.
</div>

<div>So, this is why we’ve created this GoFundMe page: as an opportunity to help a dear friend who has given us so much. <div>Hi, My name is Maryem Tollar.  My husband, Ernie Tollar, was diagnosed with primary progressive multiple sclerosis (PPMS) in September 2022. The therapies he was offered in Canada were limited and do not have a very good success rate for slowing down the progression.  He found out about the Hematapoeitic Stem Cell Transplant treatment which has a 71% success rate in stopping multiple sclerosis in people with PPMS. The sooner the treatment is done, the better because it can stop further damage from occurring.

<div>This treatment has been done for decades in select major cities around the world. We have chosen Clinica Ruiz in Puebla Mexico because it is the largest patient volume autoimmune disease HSCT private treatment center in the world.  Dr. Ruiz Argüelles and Dr. Gómez-Almaguer have performed more than 3,000 HSCT procedures during more than 20 years for hematological and autoimmune diseases, out of which over 900 have been for MS. Their transplant related mortality is less than 0.26%, among the safest treatment records in the world. Positive results have been achieved in over 78% of patients transplanted at Clinica Ruiz, which includes both relapsing and progressive patients.

<div>I am setting up this fundraiser to help my amazing friend Terra with her upcoming shoulder surgery costs. She is a self-employed artist and suffered a severe shoulder injury last winter. She has been waiting months to have this surgery. These past few weeks have been extremely stressful for her as she lives alone and will need to hire help to shovel (damn Alberta winters!!), she will go without an income for at least six weeks, and she will need to pay for her medications to help with recovery along with regular monthly expenses. In part of the exchange for composing music to her piece, Alyssa will be choreographing the video. Telehorn's First Music Video

I am a 68 year old paraplegic who was born with a congenital spinal defect or Spina Bifida.  I have no use of my legs and have used wheelchairs to get around all my life.  I was on ODSP and they used to buy power wheelchairs every 5 years.  Well not to sound ungrateful but I hated them.  I had more mobility with a standard push chair.  These are some of the problems with a power chair.  they are big and heavy weighing about 400 lbs.  This makes them almost impossible to transport.  You need a van with a ramp or lift.  They are slow and you feel every bump in the road.  They are not designed for outdoor use and break down frequently.  They are expensive to repair and sometimes you are waiting months for parts.  Replacement parts such as tires wheels bearings and motors are prone to wearing out faster with outside use and are expensive to replace.  I have had top of the line power chairs and they are all junk.  None of them are weather proof.  So when I turned 65 I was cut off from assistance and had to pay my own medical costs for wheelchairs.  ADP or the Assistive Devices  Program will only pay a portion of the cost for wheelchairs and assists power chairs.  I switched to the BATEC system which clips onto my regular wheelchair in a second and transforms it into a three wheeled e bike which increases my mobility and is the best system I have found.  I am able to exercise my two dogs go shopping pursue my hobby photography visit friends and family and live a productive life.  The system is easy to clean and can be transported easily.  It has a greater range and faster charging time and is half the cost of a power chair.  The one shown in the picture is worn out and needs to be replaced.  It has around 6000 miles on it.  I don't want to be on it when it finally dies so I am asking for a little help to replace it and pay the balance on my new chair.  If you can help I and my dogs will be so grateful Cheers.
