Hey there,
I am Shawn Nyatanga, a 26 year old IT professional from Zimbabwe. I received an unconditional offer to study MSc Cyber Security at De Montfort University Leicester UK, a programme accredited by GCHQ, the UK's national cybersecurity intelligence agency. This is a life changing opportunity for me and for my country.
I applied to study in the UK because I had a relative who had promised to fund my studies. He passed away last month. I am now left with an acceptance letter, a dream, and no funding.
I have since written to organisations and foundations asking for financial assistance. Any amount genuinely helps as I am piecing together funding from multiple sources.
Zimbabwe desperately needs skilled cybersecurity professionals. This degree would allow me to return home and build something meaningful, protecting businesses, NGOs and communities that currently have no access to professional cybersecurity expertise. This is not just about me. It is about what I can give back.
If you know of any organisations, individuals, or funding opportunities that could help, or if you are in a position to contribute anything at all, please reach out. I am grateful for every lead, every share, and every kind word.
Thank you for reading.
