 Jessica is raising funds for her friend, <strong>Dawn Marie</strong>, who has been hit with several overwhelming challenges all at once. Black mold was discovered in Dawn Marie’s home, forcing her to pack up and urgently search for a new place to live. In the middle of that stress, while trying to manage packing and finding housing, Dawn Marie accidentally injured an old hernia. Now, while waiting for surgery, Dawn Marie has been put on bed rest and is facing the impossible task of recovering, moving, and securing safe housing with very little money to fall back on.

 These funds will help Dawn Marie hire help for the move, be ready with a deposit when she finds a new home, and hopefully cover about a month in an Airbnb so she can stay somewhere safer and healthier while recovering. Dawn Marie has spent so much of her life showing up for others, including Jessica, with nonstop love, positivity, and genuine emotional support. She has also supported small businesses, helped with giveaways for a pain support group, and remained a dedicated admin for a chronic pain community she helped build so others would not feel alone. Dawn Marie is always the one giving to others. <strong>Now it is her turn</strong> to feel that love returned. Help Dawn Marie Recover and Relocate

<div>Hello, my name is Chris and I’m a tattoo artist. During my whole life I’ve always made sure the people around me were taken care of. I’ve joined the Red Cross and flew out to Louisiana during the massive flood to help out, I’ve volunteered to for projects, and have also participated and made charity events with tattooing. The one thing I’ve found to be very hard in life is to ask for help, but here I am. I’m even embarrassed as I write this. About six months ago I leaned over to grab something and let out a little cough. Pop. I herniated a disk in my neck. After a few days it got so bad I had to stop tattooing, eventually leading to me being bed ridden. I have been out of work this whole time and unfortunately as a tattoo artist we don’t get unemployment or workers compensation. I have kept on by the generosity of my family which didn’t have much to give from the start. My surgery is coming up in a week, then I have a few months of recovery. I’m tapped. The bills, my medicine for being a diabetic, taking care of my son, all goes on whether you can handle it or not. I was suggested to make one of these months ago, but my pride prevented me from doing so. I hate to be a burden. I have to ask though, to anyone I’ve helped, anyone I hooked up with a tattoo, anyone I went a little extra with, if you may kindly return the favor with as little as a dollar, it all adds up. The money will go towards bills and meds so it won’t be as long to financial get out of this hole when I return to work as soon as possible. I don’t have any expectations, but I do have a positive outlook and that will carry you far. Thank you.

<div>In June 2021 Becky went to the hospital with stomach pain and a fever, among other things. After a weeklong stay, she was diagnosed with BV. She was given an antibiotic and sent home, with no further treatment. 

</div>

<div>In October 2022 Becky was experiencing menstrual-related issues and went to the hospital. She was told she had multiple growths in her uterus and was eventually diagnosed with cancer of an unknown origin.

<div>After having multiple tests done and finally getting approval from all of her specialists, in December she had a full hysterectomy and two orange-sized masses removed. While the surgery was a success, her doctor said she had abnormal-looking lymph nodes and that she would need further treatment.

<div>Eventually, Beck was diagnosed with a rare cancer called squamous cell carcinoma. Since then, has been through six rounds of chemotherapy, causing her to feel sick often, and lose all her hair. Following chemo, blood tests revealed low levels of hemoglobin, so she needed to get a blood transfusion. A CT scan determined she had pneumonia and new growths in her lungs that were not there two weeks prior. She was hospitalized for a short period and then sent back home.

<div>The doctors have not been able to give her many answers, which has been extremely frustrating. Her suggested treatment plan is radiation, although it cannot be done in all the areas she needs because it is too dangerous. After some deliberation, her doctors came to the consensus that radiation is her best option, despite the risks. Becky will complete 25 radiation treatments over the next five weeks at RWJ.

<div>She is currently in the process of trying to get into Memorial Sloan Kettering, but her insurance is not accepted there.

Supporting Becky

<div>Have you ever heard the term when life gives you lemons, make lemonade? Well as it turns out, life has a lot of lemons to give, but it also gives sugar sometimes to make things a little sweeter. Even though it feels like it's out to get us and only us sometimes, that is not the case. The human experience is a giant roller coaster, and if I've learned anything from my time here on this earth it is about how you respond to the ups and downs that dictate your experience. Franco and I have had our share of ups and downs, together and apart. We have blended our families, added a little girl of our own, and bought a house in just these past 5 years. This part of our adventure has brought us to another person on their path of ups and downs. Unfortunately, B has had more downs than ups. More lemons, less sugar if you will. We have had the privilege of getting to know B and he has shown us what he is truly about and who he would like to be in this world. He is an extremely smart, determined, and kind 16-year-old. Our kids have created such a bond with him and so have we. Turns out that even though everything is falling into place, these things still require quite a bit of funding. Franco and I live modestly and do the best we can to provide for our already large family. So with that said we come to you, our friends, family, and acquaintances to ask for your help. We will do whatever it takes to turn B's lemons into lemonade! Everything raised here will be applied to lawyer fees and processing fees, and anything left over will go to getting him settled in our home. We can not wait to add him to our Christmas Card!
