<div>We never thought we would find ourselves here. Our Delta Dog, as our little one calls her, escaped our fenced in backyard and was hit by a car in Lakeville. We are so grateful for the responder who found her and others that stopped to assist and bring her immediately to the emergency vet in Bridgewater. However, she has a long road of recovery ahead.

<div>Delta is currently relying on oxygen support. She has wounds on 3 of her legs which need treatment, along with neurological deficits on her fourth leg.

Help Delta’s Road to Recovery

Hello everyone. This is the story of our beautiful little girl Gabriella. October 1st 2017. It was the day that changed our lives forever. It was a beautiful fall Sunday morning and there she was: running around and playing as all three year olds do. We had to calm her down to get her dressed and ready for the day, when we felt a concrete like lump on her abdomen. We didn’t really know what to make of it since she showed no sign of discomfort or pain. We thought it would be best to take her down to urgent care to get checked out as it was Sunday and her pediatrician was closed. We took her there thinking they would just tell us it’s a milk allergy or a bad case of constipation. An X-ray of her stomach showed a large mass but they couldn’t really tell what it was for sure. They wanted to do a CT scan on her stomach to further tell what it could possibly be. After we took her in for the scan, we went back to the room and waited for the results. What seemed like hours had passed when the doctor working that day came in and told us what she believed it was. She told us it looks like a massive tumor and we needed to go to Boston Childrens Hospital IMMEDIATELY. Our hearts sank. We were overcome with confusion and fear. Without hesitation, we rushed her to the emergency room at Children’s and they took her back right away. What came next was a barrage of testing and scans. They needed to draw blood. They needed urine samples. They needed to an MRI and another CT scan. By this time it was close to 10 pm when the doctor  came in and told us they sent all of the images and blood work over to Dana Farber and a couple of oncologists were on their way to speak with us. They sat down with us and confirmed every parents worst fear. It was a 3 pound tumor growing off her adrenal gland. Neuroblastoma. Cancer. They would be scheduling surgery immediately.To say that Gabriella has been through a tough time is an understatement. At a time when most young kids are enjoying school, playing outside, spending time with family, Gabriella has spent the better part of a year in the hospital for a major surgery, two bone marrow aspirations, and countless doctors visits for checkups, blood tests and urine tests. She also has an MIBG bone scan and injection every 3-6 weeks. We thought she was in the clear as we approached the one year mark of her diagnosis, the doctors noticed a small mass on a routine ultrasound. Her catacholmine levels have started rising above the normal levels. She has her next MIBG scan and bone marrow aspiration in a few weeks, and we are praying that our worst fears won’t be confirmed again. Gabriella will need follow up medical care for the foreseeable future. We already have mounting medical bills from the life saving treatment she has received and continues to receive from Children’s and the Jimmy Fund Clinic at Dana Farber. No child should have to endure what Gabby has. She has shown us what true strength is. She in the fight for her life and continues to amaze us with her sense of humor and her ability to laugh and smile during every one of her pokes and procedures.Any money raised from this Gofundme will be used to pay for further treatment and ongoing expenses related to Gabriella’s fight against this horrible disease. The best way I could find to put it in words is through their own thoughts. I adapted the following from Facebook/Instagram posts she has shared...<br />"August 9th we had a routine 11 minute “rule out” MRI for headaches for our 3 year old, Teddie, to show “it’s probably just allergies”....that lasted 2 1/2 hours.  Fast forward to a neurosurgeon coming in telling us our perfectly healthy baby has a brain tumor..(at that moment everything went white and slow motion and I felt like I was not in my own reality—how was this my life, her life?!)<br />After several opinions &amp; second opinions our perfect girl had to have an extensive brain tumor biopsy and spinal surgery. She was a warrior. Braver than I was. Braver than her dad was. Braver than any of us could ever be. Minus a big scare in the recovery, the surgery went perfectly. To include removing her top spinal vertebrae to relieve pressure from the tumor.<br />She recovered beyond amazingly... bounced back to her sassy, stubborn, sweet self in no time.  A warrior.<br />A week later, the results...<br />The plan...<br />Chemo.<br />12-15 months.<br />Again, my vision went white &amp; everyone sounded like they were talking in slow motion &amp; I couldn’t understand a word they were saying. <br />First day of chemo/surgery: We had to be at the hospital for 5am.  We had to wake her out of bed, and put her in the car for an hour ride in. All before her 2 hour surgery to put her port in ((successfully!!!!)), then right to her first chemo treatment for 5 hours in the oncology department.  She was tired, grouchy, uncomfortable, sore, mad. It was a long day, but music therapy and playdoh got us through.  The car ride home took over 2 hours. Her nausea set in and it was awful for our girl. <br />We are now at week 5 of treatment.  We have had ups &amp; downs.  A middle of the night speed to the emergency room for a scare. And an even scarier allergic reaction to one of her chemo treatments. But SHE has continued to be a warrior.  Shown us strength. Given us strength.  Been our strength. <br />The past few weeks have not been easy.  But they’ve shown us what we already knew.  She is a warrior.  The strongest girl.  And we have the support of THE most amazing support system we could ask for. #teddiestribe #thepupspack"<br />Throughout all of this they have had to maintain normalcy for Teddie's 8 &amp; 6 year old sisters at home. Not an easy task on a good day, let alone a day where you end up in the hospital. Genevieve was not able to go back to work (Kindergarden Teacher), Brett has had to miss days of work (Insurance Broker &amp; Real Estate Agent) &amp; through it all they've had to deal with spending more money getting in and out of the city as well as the medical bills beginning to come in. Friends &amp; family have already stepped up big and taken the girls, made countless meals, dropped off toys/giftcards and sent many a bottle of wine to their door.<br />At this point it only seems natural to begin to solicit monetary donations in a large way to help relieve the mental burden medical bills can bring. They are prideful people and were uncomfortable with the thought of fundraising for their family, but if you know anything about the two of them, they would be the first standing up and doing the same for anyone they know and even people they don't. Please do what you can and say a prayer for Teddie even if you can't. The more the merrier in #teddiestribe
