<div> Life, as we know, has been lifing. As many know, <strong>Charles had a heart transplant almost 6 years ago</strong>. Last year, he had rejection of his heart that landed him in the hospital for almost 3 weeks. Fast forward to several weeks ago, he was admitted to Mayo because of severe swelling of his feet and legs. It had gotten so bad that he was exhibiting symptoms of congestive heart failure. The doctors had to “dry” him out and get as much fluid off his body but also try not to damage his kidneys any further. This was a challenge, and needless to say, the diuretics caused more damage to his kidneys. He is now on dialysis three times a week and is on the transplant list once again. If that wasn’t enough, his heart team did a biopsy on his heart, and it was discovered that he had rejection once again at the cellular level, and he had to be treated for that as well.

<div>So far, he is doing well and has been home for several days now.

<div>I previously (via Facebook) requested prayers and positive vibes for not only Charles but for our daughter Vivi as well. She has been hospitalized since the day after her father was released from Mayo. Weeks prior to her hospitalization, she started losing her eyesight and suffering from migraines.

<div>Her blood pressure was through the roof. When she was admitted, her blood pressure was 240 over 100 something. After extensive tests, her kidney function is at 15%. At this point, she qualifies to be on the transplant list. There’s a 3-4 year wait for a kidney. According to her kidney doctor, she doesn’t need dialysis yet. Hopefully, she will be released by tomorrow. I’m not sure if or when her eyesight will improve or return. Until then, she will not be able to drive or return to work.

<div>Now, early Monday morning, I received an emergency text from my oldest daughter Mia. She was involved in a car crash. <strong>My heart dropped to my feet as I tried to call her and got no answer.</strong> I immediately called my mom because I know she doesn’t live far from where the accident happened. My mom called my brother, and he and my dad showed up on the scene. Her husband Nick also showed up, and I was thankful she was okay and not alone. My daughter’s car was totaled, and she just paid it off. All that matters is that she walked away shaken and a bit bruised.

<div>Despite all of this, I know God is in control. The outcome may not be what we want, but it could absolutely be worse. For that, I’m grateful. Also, I’m making it a priority to take care of me during these difficult times. Being a caregiver isn’t for the weak. There’s a core group of people that has been a rock. They know who they are, and I am forever grateful for them. THANK YOU!!!

<font color="#333333">Hey everyone! <br /><br />As I’m sure most of you know, our dear friend (and to most, family) has recently had an extended and unexpected stay at the hospital. This has led to missed work, lots of medical bills, and no return date as of yet to go back to work. I was hoping we could all try and pull something together to help our lovely Linder out.<br /><br />Personally, I met Linda through European Street and not only became a close friend but consider her and her family my own family. I’ve always known Linda to be caring, hilarious, willing to help anyone out who needed it, and the first to offer her kindness if anyone no matter what. <br /><br />I know times can be hard lately but honestly, we all love Linda so much I really couldn’t think of a better person to help! If there’s anything you can spare to help get Linda back on her feet &amp; stay there please do so. It will be greatly appreciated! </font>
