Coming Together for Stacey After the Fire

<div>Khimberly was only 12 years old.
</div>
<div>A metal bottle thrown during a school bullying incident struck her in the head. Days later, her brain Hemorrhaged. She never came home

<div>As the baby of our family, she brought a special light and joy into our lives. She loved her family, music, volleyball, walks with her two beloved dogs, and had many dreams for the future.
</div>

</div>
<div>Tragically, Khimberly’s life was cut short following a bullying incident at school, whereby another student threw a metal water bottle that struck her in the head.
</div>
<div>Days later, she suffered a catastrophic medical emergency. Major blood vessels in her brain ruptured, and she was rushed to UCLA Children's hospital, placed in an induced coma, and underwent complex emergency brain surgery.
</div>
<div>Her family remained by her side, praying and hoping she would come home, but at 3:30AM, her heart gave out. She was only twelve.

<div>Her passing has left our family in unimaginable pain. No parents should ever have to endure the loss of their youngest child.

Help Khimberly's Family After Deadly School Bullying

<div>Por este medio, la familia Velez y este servidor le pedimos de su ayuda para nuestro ser querido Luis "Tibu" Caballery Velez. Tibu, como le decimos de cariño fue gravemente herido de un impacto vehicular mientras ejercía sus labores rutinarias como empleado municipal del pueblo de Cabo Rojo. En estos momentos Luis se encuentra en el Centro Medico de Río Piedras, en donde será sometido a varías intervenciones  quirúrgicas debido a la gravedad de sus lesiones. En este momento tan doloroso y complicado para la familia inmediata de Luis es de suma importancia su ayuda ya que ambos padres de Luis tuvieron que trasladarse a Rio Piedras desde Cabo Rojo para poder estar con él. Es una situación en la cual no sabemos cuanto durará , pero lo que si estamos conscientes es de que será una carga económica e inesperada para la familia de Luis. Así que de todo corazón,  no importa cuan pequeña sea su ayuda, será grandemente agradecida. Mantengamos a Luis en sus oraciones.

<div>Yesterday I was in Walmart and asked a stranger if they’d help buy me food because I hadn’t eaten all day. I met an amazing lady, named Sandra and she helped me without hesitation. I then revealed it was for her. When she looked into the cereal box and saw it had $1,000 in it, she immediately burst into tears.

<div>Sandra told me that she recently went into remission with leukemia and is waiting for a bone marrow transplant. Her husband drives her to USC for chemotherapy often and their savings have all been used for hospital costs. She said every day, she wakes up and all she wants is to live one more day for her two daughters.

<div>Today I was went to a taco truck when I asked a stranger if they’d help buy me a taco. I met an amazing man named Miguel. Miguel immediately bought me a taco and even asked if I wanted two instead. I then blessed him with $1,000 for his kindness. Miguel was shocked at the gift and said he could really use it because he's been out of work for 2 months. Miguel shared with me that his ice cream truck caught fire in October and he hasn't been able to restart his business selling ice cream in his neighborhood.

<div>There are so many words that can describe Geo, but one thing that stands out is that he loved his family. He loved to joke around and be around his family. If you were fortunate enough to be blessed with his presence, you might even have witnessed one of his Geo freestyle raps. Always quick to say "I love you" and give you a hug. That was Giovani.

<div>Unfortunately, underneath all that love were other struggles that took him away from his loved ones. We lost him unexpectedly and now are left with great memories. His sudden loss has left his family with the challenging time to build funds for a service that he deserves.
