- Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh, Ramadan is approaching, and Masjid As-Sunnah in Grand Rapids, Michigan is calling on the community to help us provide daily Iftar meals for fasting Muslims and their families throughout this blessed month. Every evening during Ramadan, brothers, sisters, children, and families gather at the masjid to break their fast together. These meals are more than just food—they are a lifeline for our community. They bring people together, strengthen bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood, and ensure that no one breaks their fast alone or hungry. Our goal is $4,500 to cover the cost of providing nutritious, home-style Iftar meals every day for the entire month of Ramadan. This breaks down to approximately $150 per night to feed our community. The Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever provides food for a fasting person to break his fast with, then he will have the same reward as the fasting person, without anything being diminished from the reward of the fasting person.” — Sahih, related by al-Tirmidhi (no. 807), authenticated by al-Albānī in Sahīh al-Targhīb (no. 1087) How Your Donation Helps: • $50 sponsors a portion of one night’s Iftar • $100 sponsors an entire weekday evening’s Iftar meal • $250 sponsors an entire weekend evening’s Iftar meal • $4,500 covers the full month of Ramadan No amount is too small. Whether you can give $5 or $500, every dollar goes directly toward feeding those who are fasting. And if you are unable to donate, please share this campaign with your family, friends, and networks. Sharing is sadaqah.

59% complete - Assalamu Alaikum and greetings to all, My name is Salahuddin Ali, and I'm the co-founder of Masjid Sunnah in Grand Rapids, Michigan. For over a decade, our community has been working to transform a building at 2312 S. Division Ave into a fully functioning mosque — a place of worship, peace, and community for Muslims in Grand Rapids. We incorporated Masjid Sunnah in 2014, purchased the property, and have been renovating it step by step ever since — largely through small donations and volunteer labor. We've made incredible progress. The structure is sound, the rough-in plumbing is done, and we just completed our first-floor lighting installation. Now we're in the final stretch, and we need your help to cross the finish line. What's left: the bathrooms. Our first-floor bathroom renovation is the last major phase before we can open our doors. This isn't just about sinks and pipes — Islamic worship requires a specific ritual cleansing called wudu (ablution) before every prayer. Our bathrooms need to include specialized ablution fixtures called WuduMates, ADA-compliant installations, a drinking fountain, and all of the permitting and inspections required to meet commercial building codes and Michigan's barrier-free accessibility standards. This work requires licensed commercial plumbing contractors, city permits, and a state waiver application — all of which cost money. Our Goal: $33,000 This will cover: Licensed commercial plumbing contractor labor Specialized WuduMate ablution fixtures (2 units) ADA-compliant wall-mounted sinks (4 units) Dual drinking fountain installation City permits and state regulatory compliance Final inspections to open the mosque Where we are now: Raised so far: $9,100 Still needed: $23,900 Why it matters: Grand Rapids' Muslim community needs a dedicated, accessible place to pray, gather, and serve. Masjid Sunnah has been a vision held by community members for over ten years. We are so close. With your help, we can finally open these doors. Every donation — whether it's $5, $50, or $500 — brings us closer. And every share helps us reach someone who might be moved to give. Your gift is tax-deductible. Masjid Sunnah Grand Rapids Michigan is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Our IRS Taxpayer ID is 47-1456194.
