<div>My name is Kiandria Demone, and an activist, most known as  the Black woman who used HTML code to expose the payment processors behind a fundraiser that rewarded a white woman for calling a Black child the N-word. What started as one investigation did not end there. It became a platform.

<div>That moment grew into a sustained fight where I actively challenge racism, expose those who profit from harm, and hold systems accountable when they try to operate in the dark. That woman was not the only case.

<div>Since then, I have brought viral attention to multiple stories, including Trey Reed, a case involving injustice that was not receiving the visibility it deserved, and Kyle Basinga, whose situation raised serious concerns about mental health, police accountability and harm that needed public scrutiny. I use my platform to make sure these stories are seen, understood, and acted on instead of ignored or buried.

<div>I have also used my platform to directly support the community. With the help of my audience, I have raised over $100,000 for the Tamir Rice Foundation and organized efforts to feed over 200 families in Atlanta when SNAP benefits were cut during the government shutdown. This work is not hypothetical. It is active, ongoing, and rooted in real impact.

<div>Over the past year, your support helped fuel that work. It allowed me to step away from my business when necessary and focus on advocacy, organizing, and rapid response during moments that required immediate attention. Donations are a major part of what made that possible.

<div>This fundraiser is about more than sustaining the work. It is about building the infrastructure to expand it. I am now actively engaging with elected officials, policy leaders, and legislators to push for changes in cybercrime laws, specifically around harassment, stalking, and terroristic threats that disproportionately impact Black women. The law has not caught up to the reality of digital harm, and I am working to change that.

<div>I am also engaging in conversations around broader civil rights legislation, including proposed policies that could impact public access to body camera footage. Transparency is critical in cases involving police violence and misconduct, and I am working to ensure that access is protected and not restricted in ways that prevent accountability.

<div>This year includes travel to meet with senators, candidates for public office, and local leadership, including officials here in Atlanta. It also includes expanding my in-person presence through community events, organizing efforts, and public engagement that require both coordination and security.

<div>At the same time, the personal cost of this work remains real. I have faced repeated threats, harassment, and attempts at doxxing. There have been moments where I had to secure temporary housing for myself and my son, increase home security, and take active steps to protect our safety and privacy. This work impacts every part of my life.

<div>In addition to that, every time there is a major civil rights issue, I step away from my business to respond. Whether it is police violence or a case that demands national attention, I use my platform to organize, inform, and apply pressure. That time is unpaid, but necessary.

<div>I moved to L.A. for finding better work opportunities to support myself after divorce- I moved in with a long distance partner of 3 years, in their WestLA sublet rent controlled area.by Culver City.

<div>That was a colossal mistake.
</div>
<div>DV, drugged &amp; trafficked multiple times keys/phone stolen &amp; locked out, police that didn’t believe me cuz they were friends, told me to stop calling or I’d be arrested… Then my attempted mrdr by strangulation &amp; ended up sort of believed from visible eye vessels &amp; neck marks, but not helped &amp; told I couldn’t go home. So as I navigated living in my car to hotels &amp; a shelter, + attending online university f/t with loans, working &amp; being the only be to do the driving for visitation exchanges. And then wages garnished for corrupt ex child support orders change &amp; that spurred supervisor harassment &amp; unlawful termination when I called out sick for my CPTSD &amp; IBS she triggered I received a ups of my desk contents + notice of [unlawful] termination— all my bills went unpaid &amp; accounts closed, . SSDI, SNAP &amp; UI all denied…. I went no contact with my maga mother in 2015 per therapist &amp; ex’s family disowned after 16 years— so you all are ✨my only hope, my Obi Wan’s✨

<div>I have known Michael Stewart for many years of both friendship and business. His restaurant Tavern on Jane has been not only one of my first "homes" in New York, but it has been a neighborhood gem and staple for now 28 years! Unfortunately, Tavern on Jane finds itself in a time where they need help. They need money. While I mentioned the idea of a GoFundMe to Michael, he was uncomfortable asking himself. So, I am taking it upon myself to humbly ask for your support for Tavern.

<div>	Just before COVID happened, Tavern took out a business loan for general assistance with costs of operation. The loan was $160,000, and they were paying it off without any issues. Originally, this would have been paid off in December 2020. However, we all remember what happened in 2020.

<div>	During COVID, Tavern lost almost 2 million dollars in revenue. With these losses, the original loan ballooned to over $500,000 to include the costs of required refinancing charges. As we all pushed through COVID and the continued recovery, Tavern kept their chins up hoping support would come to abate the widening borders of the monetary pit they were finding themselves in. I helped Michel apply for The Restaurant Relief Fund, which was predicated on the business losses due to COVID. While many other restaurants received this . . . Tavern was not so lucky. If Micheal had received these funds from the RRF, they would have taken care of his deficits––now his original loan and revenue losses are well over 2 million dollars.

<div>	Even though business at Tavern has returned to the brisk bustle of the days before COVID, with the cost of everything it is impossible for them to catch up. People tell us all of the time that this place can never go anywhere. And I couldn't agree more wholeheartedly. We all would love to maintain Tavern for a long time and continue to be a source of comfort for the neighborhood. If they have been doing so for 28 years, how can they stop now?
