One and a half years ago, my life changed in an instant when I became paralyzed overnight. The shock and devastation of losing the ability to walk was overwhelming, and with it, so many dreams I had for my future slipped away. I lost the chance to have the wedding I had always imagined—walking down the aisle, dancing, and celebrating with loved ones. That loss was more than physical; it was the loss of a vision for my life and the hope that came with it. Six months ago, I was diagnosed with CIDP, a rare and challenging condition that has made recovery seem nearly impossible at this point. Not long after my diagnosis, I had to flee dangerous situations by moving across the country, leaving behind everything familiar in search of safety and a fresh start. Every day since has been a fight to rebuild, to find stability, and to hold onto hope. Now, I am no longer homeless, but the threat of losing my home is still very real. I need help to cover the basics that keep me going: accessibility tools to regain some independence, rent to keep a roof over my head, food and water, hygiene products, and the medical copays and supplies that are essential for my treatment. These are things I can’t go without, and I’m reaching out because I have nowhere else to turn. There is no one left in my life to ask for help. Anyone who chooses to support me is truly an angel in my eyes, and I hope you know how much your kindness means to me. Thank you for reading my story and for considering a donation—your support could change everything for me.
Danielle Starbeck, my godmother, has endured more than most people could imagine. She lost her beloved daughter to a drunk driver, a tragedy that would break anyone’s heart. Even after experiencing homelessness herself, Danielle has always put others first, offering help and kindness to those around her no matter how difficult her own circumstances became. Her resilience and compassion are truly inspiring, but the weight of her struggles has become overwhelming, and she is now reaching a very dark point in her life. Danielle is a trans woman who has started her own business servicing food trucks in the area. She pours her energy into this work, hoping to build a better future for herself and her community. However, the challenges she faces—especially in today’s political climate—are immense. She needs help with her business, as well as support for housing, mental health care, and daily expenses. These are not just comforts, but necessities that can help her regain stability and hope. I am asking for your support to help save Danielle’s life. The world can be especially hard for trans women right now, and your kindness could make all the difference. Please consider donating or sharing this fundraiser. Together, we can show Danielle that she is not alone and that her community stands with her.
