<div>October 8, 2025 my sweet husband Paul Lamparelli had a
</div>
<div>hemorrhagic stroke in Mexico. The doctor did not do an MRI until
</div>
<div>the evening of the 10th. The next day they changed all his
</div>
<div>medication. As they had been treating him for a ischemic stroke.
</div>
<div>The medication cause his brain bleeds to worsen. And he was
</div>
<div>fading fast. I arrived the 9th and started working on a medical flight
</div>
<div>out of there as soon as I got there. He was not getting the proper
</div>
<div>care. He was getting worse. I was freaking out and so scared. I
</div>
<div>thought he was dying right before my eyes. I was an absolute
</div>
<div>wreck.

<div>October 13th we got a medical flight through Reva and arrived at
</div>
<div>UCSD that afternoon Paul was completely out of it. He could
</div>
<div>barely keep his eyes open. His left arm and leg where completely
</div>
<div>paralyzed. They told me he would most likely need to be placed in
</div>
<div>a nursing home! I was in shock. Right then and there I made a
</div>
<div>decision to make Paul’s Recovey my number 1 priority. He was
</div>
<div>not going to a nursing home! He could and will recover!
</div>
<div>It’s crazy how much life can change in a matter of minutes. My
</div>
<div>heart was shattered. I was full of fear and anxiety. Would my
</div>
<div>husband recover? Paul is only 52. He is a kind, loving, generous,
</div>
<div>man. He knows all his customers by name and has been a joyous
</div>
<div>part of the Haiku community on Maui for 27 years. We are both
</div>
<div>so very thankful he is still with us and willing to fight to get better.
</div>
<div>Having help with our finances will take a huge amount of stress
</div>
<div>off our shoulders. If you can help in any way—even a small
</div>
<div>amount—it will add up fast. Every dollar will go directly to Paul’s
</div>
<div>care. We have an ambitious goal. Paul’s insurance covers some
</div>
<div>of his care but he needs more. We need money for extra physical
</div>
<div>therapy. So we hired this awesome guy to do two more days a
</div>
<div>week. Paul is also working with the best acupuncturist on the
</div>
<div>island, Malik. He made a huge improvement after 1 secession! 
</div>
<div>He is also seeing an incredible osteopathic doctor. None of this is
</div>
<div>covered by insurance. If you feel Paul has made a positive
