Hello, my name is Angela Lopez Mendez. I am 50 years old and a single mother. Recently, I faced an unexpected challenge when I was unable to pass my DOT medical exam due to being diagnosed with glaucoma. This diagnosis has made it impossible for me to work and cover my expenses as I normally would. The financial strain has been overwhelming, especially since my health insurance from California Medical does not cover all of my medical needs. I am reaching out for help to cover out-of-pocket expenses like over-the-counter medication, rides to and from my doctor appointments, and supervision throughout the day and night while I recover. These are essential for my treatment and well-being, but they are simply beyond my means right now. It is difficult for me to ask for help, as I have always tried to give to others whenever I could, even when I had little myself.
