 Hello, my name is Cait. I never wanted to make a gofundme asking for financial help, but here I am. On the morning of July 29th, my boyfriend Fabio went for his scheduled appointment at the homeland security office in Charlotte, North Carolina. He was allowed one phone call where he informed me that he had been detained by immigration officers. These officers told him he would be transferred to Georgia to await an immigration hearing. He has a valid work permit and no criminal record. I have hired an attorney who specializes in immigration law. Any money donated will cover the lawyer fees and if there is any possibility of a bond, I would use the money for that as well. It has not even been 24 hours so this is all I know for now. I will keep this page updated. I had become accustomed to being alone until I met Fabio, so I will never stop fighting for him. I cannot thank you all enough for your support during this time.

<div>I am Muhammad. My life completely changed after the seventh of October in Gaza, as I lost every hope I had in my mind. After my success in high school, I was able to enroll in university to begin my first steps for the future. Only a few days after starting university, the Gaza War surprised us and my dream disappeared.
</div>
<div>I cannot forget that night when the occupation forced us to leave our house and everything in it at three in the morning under bombardment by aircraft and flares. We didn't know where to go. I left my clothes, important things, official papers, university books, and personal tools.
</div>
<div>I registered at the university in the Faculty of Information Technology. I was ambitious and happy in my first days, and now I am losing happiness after the university was completely destroyed and the academic year ended without studying. Instead of moving forward, I am moving backwards and my dream has become very far away.
</div>
<div>As for my parents, they have nothing to do with the matter. My father lost his job and my mother is sad, crying over our lost home and our changed life. We lost everything, everything. I will be very grateful to everyone who will stand by me and help me get back on my feet, complete my studies, and achieve my dream.

Help evacuate my family out of Gaza

<div>Yesterday evening, a friend reached out to me terrified for his family who are still in the strip. He has been doing everything in his power to ensure the safety of not only himself but, the safety and survival of his family. Please take a few moments of your day to read their story, in their words.

<div>We hesitated a lot before making this connection, but our sense of danger was approaching and increasing day after day, and our extreme fear for the rest of our families was what ultimately prompted us to resort to this method after I, Suhaib, suffered a broken spine and a small part of my spinal cord was damaged. When I woke up I felt alive again but was shocked by the martyrdom of my mother and the injury of my brother, Siraj, who survived a fractured skull and bleeding inside the brain.

<div>All that remains of my family is my father, my brother Siraj, who is injured, and my little sister Carmen. The only survivors of my cousin Dilara’s family are her father and sister Layan. After being separated from family that were able to get to treatment abroad, we were unable to communicate with them. When we were finally able to communicate, we discovered the suffering that they are experiencing.

<div>Dilara and I wake up every day crying over their separation and fearing the loss of them as well due to the ongoing displacement, malnutrition, lack of potable water, and the abundance of diseases and epidemics.

Our parents’ sources of income, which they depended on, and the loss of many of our possessions in this war.

<div>We were patient and endured in the hope of returning and repairing what the war destroyed, but unfortunately the war we are living in continues without stopping, and even if the war stops, we will need a lot of time to repair what it destroyed. All that remains for us now is our last attempt to help our families from the Gaza Strip build our lives, and continue our studies until complete calm returns to the Gaza Strip.
