<div><strong>My name is Katherine Lee, and I am fundraising for my good friend Noor and her family in Gaza.</strong> Noor, her husband Mohammed, their 2 and 1/2 year-old daughter Wateen, and one 1 year old son Majed have lost everything. Their home in Khoza'a (Khan Younis) has been completely destroyed. They have been displaced many times, and now live in a tent in Abasan.

<div><strong>As all of Gaza has been decimated, they are not able to work to support basic necessities for their children.</strong> They are struggling to afford their everyday needs including food, water, medicine, diapers. Due to the lack of aid entering Gaza, the cost of goods has skyrocketed.

<div><strong>Noor and Mohammed also care for Mohammed's family including his elderly parents Majed and Susan, who suffer with chronic illness</strong>, <strong>and his three younger brothers (Anas, Ahmed and Waad). </strong> This puts tremendous strain on the entire family. There is little aid to find, and the cost of daily life in Gaza is astronomical. Many things are more expensive than even here in the U.S.  With no one able to work and earn a living, the situation is dire.

<div>Noor graduated from Al-Aqsa University on October 3, 2023, with a degree in English. She is a wonderful mother who cares for her children deeply, and will do anything to support them.

I can recognize my house from the effects of destruction, demolishing the house and destroying dreams with it. We suffer from all kinds of oppression, injustice, and deprivation, and my children and I are still living in the most difficult conditions. Small lighting, treatment, firewood, gas, bowls, my basic privacy, and everything related to staying on life, not life, my children, since the beginning of the war, I did not buy them clothes, and everything became small on them, and their clothes began to stammer. Our children are losing their most basic rights. We suffer from everything, especially detergents in this period, their lack of presence and the high prices. The situation is getting worse day by day. Our circumstances are very difficult. There is nothing to help us live, and this is our situation, which should not be hidden from anyone. I want to help you, so that we can survive. I hope you don't ignore us and don't give up our hope. Help Noor's Family to Survive in Gaza

<div>Support disability justice advocate Mary, whose health has deteriorated. She needs treatment, adaptive furniture, and mobility equipment. For years, Mary has dedicated her unpaid time to helping thousands secure funding, advice, and support. Now her own health has worsened she needs support from us.

<div>We are asking for help with funding relating to Mary’s worsening health and loss of mobility that have proven impossible to get through the NHS, DWP or charities. If you know Mary you will know that she has fought with every fibre of her being for over a decade to try to access appropriate treatments and services and all it’s done is worsen her health.

<div>Mary has dedicated her life to helping others, either in her neighbourhood, community or around the world, her passion for community care is unusual and we want to enable her to continue to do that work but at the moment she is frustrated by how limited she is in what she can do for others.

<div>We’ve sat down with her to help figure out what can be done to improve her quality of life, make her home safer and help with mobility, especially in warmer weather which is now particularly challenging as her autoimmune disease worsens.

<div>We’ve talked for over a year about how much to disclose about Mary’s conditions and what exactly she needs help funding with at this point in her disease but ultimately decided that it was safest and most in line with our values to allow Mary as much privacy and dignity as possible whilst accessing resources. Disabled people are routinely stripped of all privacy and dignity and it’s important to counter that as often as we can.

<div>Many people reading this will be familiar with the impossible funding and healthcare barriers that people like Mary face, stuck between punitive and unreliable DWP arrangements and an NHS that was never designed to care for complexly chronically ill patients.

Support Fund for Aragon Children

<div>As many of you know, Lorna has Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (M.E), a condition which has turned her life upside down and impacts her body in a myriad of ways.

<div>Although she experiences a range of symptoms, through research Lorna has discovered a possible link with Craniocervical instability.

<div>Many of her symptoms mimic that of CCI such as:

<div><em>Headaches, neck pain, dizziness, paralysis, brain fog, muscle weakness, nausea, and tachycardia. </em>
</div>
<div>Over the last year these symptoms have become progressively worse and more debilitating.

<div>As research for M.E. is massively underfunded, it continues to be a condition not widely understood or treatable, and as a result Lorna has exhausted all possible options from the NHS, with little to no success.

<div>A formal diagnosis of CCI could mean that Lorna could potentially access treatment that could improve her quality of life. Unfortunately it requires a specific type of MRI that is not yet available via the NHS.
</div>

Help Lorna get a CCI scan

Hi, my name is Javan Mitchell. I just graduated from the New Canaan High School class of 2020. I have been accepted into Nichols College with a Leadership Scholarship and to play soccer. The Leadership Scholarship doesn’t cover an entire years tuition. Unfortunately I do not qualify to receive financial aid as I am still awaiting approval for US residency through a Green Card. Not only have I missed out on many senior year experiences, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there is a back log on Green Card applications. I worry I might not be able to go to college in August without some assistance. Please consider donating to support me in furthering my education.

College Tuition

This past month, Cisco was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in San Diego. Though California has been home to Cisco and his family since he was barely three years old, the United States has ordered him to return back to Honduras, a country in which he not only has no memories, but no family, community, or support to rely on should he be forcibly removed. San Diego and Los Angeles are the cities in which Cisco has formed his identity and established entire communities of those who love and rely on him. <br /><br />After a month in an immigration detention facility, Cisco was released on $3,000 bond with help from a private attorney. In the immigration system, our country refuses to provide individuals with any constitutional rights, therefore leaving them with no legal or financial assistance. Consequently, this means the majority of individuals are left to represent themselves, without knowledge of the arbitrary legal processes or requirements for defense, and the reality for these individuals is incredibly bleak: most are deported back to places that are often unfamiliar and life-threatening. Without our help, this could be Cisco too. <br /><br />And the costs in no way stop with bond-- now that he's released, he is responsible for funding his future legal representation in his deportation proceedings and court costs, and will also need to repay his family who originally paid for his bond and lawyer. <br /><br />He is currently living with his mother and four younger brothers in LA while he tries to rebuild the security and stability he made for himself prior to the arrest. Unfortunately, his mother's apartment has limited space and his immediate family can no longer afford to provide financial assistance. <br /><br />Cisco is doing everything within his capacity to raise money, though now that he has been criminalized and his information recorded in federal databases, he has been denied access to jobs, housing, or any public assistance. <br /><br />While no person should be forced to endure detainment and possible deportation, California is and has always been home to Cisco and to all who know and love him.<br /><br />That's why I'm asking you all to offer Cisco any financial support that you are able and willing to. Any amount, no matter how small, is incredibly appreciated and would go a long way. Especially under our current administration, it's crucial that those of us with the privilege to support and enact change protect fellow Americans who are denied the liberties we so often take for granted.

Justice for Francisco Licona Fletes

<strong>Family,  friends and strangers who have been touched by cancer</strong><br /><br />We have started this fundraiser in an attempt to raise funds for our Mum whose cancer has now spread throughout her body and is need of equipment at home.<br /><br />This is her story…<br /><br />Diana Amanoil was diagnosed with cervical cancer last year in February, and it turned our world upside down. She is a mother of four, including a three-year-old girl. Even though we had so much hope and faith in God that Mum was going to heal, we struggled with the fact that she was going to suffer.<br /><br />She has gone through strong doses of radiation for 5 days a week for almost 8 weeks in an attempt to shrink the cancer. Things were going quite well, and she was tolerating treatment and we were told that the radiation was working. A few months later, additional pain in her neck revealed that the cancer had spread, and she required high doses of chemotherapy for many months.<br /><br /><br />The chemotherapy was working, and the cancer did shrink. In further months, we were told (very hopefully) that we could stop inpatient chemotherapy rounds and begin Avastin at home. Mum’s hair began to grow back, and we were very hopeful for her future as she began to return to her old self…<br /><br />Unfortunately, recently our mother has been in severe pain and after many further tests and hospital admissions, we have been told that the cancer has spread throughout her body, and that we will not be able to continue treatment as she is immunocompromised.<br /><br />She is now struggling to walk and do daily routine activities due to the severity and worsening of her symptoms. As the cancer has spread to her lungs and grown, she is having difficulty breathing without medical assistance and has been hospitalised for almost two weeks now. Earlier this week, we were told the worse news that every family prays they do not have to hear: there is nothing more the doctors can do for her. Radiation will not work for the area in the lung that has been affected, chemotherapy is too strong for her body to tolerate and the immunotherapy options we were offered is now off the tables as her body is too weak.<br /><br />As a family, we are devastated. We are confused, hurting and we are in a dire situation of having to try anything and everything possible to give our mother more time.<br /><br />We have started this fundraiser in an attempt to raise funds to source all of the equipment we need to keep her stable when she is released home, and hopefully try alternative treatments/specialists.<br /><br />Every dollar helps our family in affording medical equipment and supporting our family. If you are unable to donate, we ask kindly that you keep her in your prayers as we know that the next few months will be difficult on our family. <br /><br />Thank you

<p>On Thursday, Oct 31 when most families were gathering costumes and celebrating the childhood wonder of Halloween, my tender hearted nephew (14) watched his house burn down. Thankfully the 9 year old and 5 year old were at school and saved from the horror of seeing their home engulfed in flames. But their lives are forever changed; left without their clothes, household items, personal treasures, and most importantly a place to call home.<br /><br />This was only the beginning, now the trauma of building a life from nothing, and sifting through literal ashes to search for any remaining belongings faces my sister Tamra, her partner Jimmy, and their three children. They are in need of immediate financial assistance, for food, gas, clothes and other basic necessities.  While their community, family and friends are gathering to aid them, this is going to be years long recovery and additional support is needed especially at the onset. <br /><br />I'm creating this page as a central space for us to gather support and comfort in hopes that we might ease the weight of this grief by filling in some financial gaps.
