Dear family & friends
I’m writing this with a heavy heart. As you may already know from a previous GofundMe project, I’ve been diagnosed with metastatic colorectal (colon) cancer, and I’m now receiving palliative end-of-life care. With treatment stopped, my focus is on care and spending as much meaningful time as possible with the people I love.
Alongside everything else, I’m facing a practical financial pressure that’s become overwhelming: my car finance balance is £9,654, with monthly repayments of £344 per month. I only now only receive universal benefits. As I had to stop working in August 2025. With my health declining and my ability to work/earn affected, keeping up with these payments is no longer realistic.
The car has been important for appointments and day-to-day needs, but the debt attached to it is now a constant worry. My wife who is my primary carer has taken over the driving duties. My hope is to settle the finance so this doesn’t continue to build stress for me and my family during this time. My wife is my part time carer and only works half day for the council so she can care for me.
What the funds will be used for
- Paying off the outstanding car finance balance: £9,654
Transparency and updates
To reassure everyone that the money goes directly towards clearing this debt, I will provide regular updates for anyone contributing:
- bi- weekly updates showing how much has been paid and the remaining balance
- Monthly updates with a clear summary and supporting evidence (e.g., screenshots/receipts/settlement statements with personal details safely removed)
All information will be freely available to contributors so you can see exactly how your support is used.
I know times are tough for many people, so please don’t feel pressured. If you’re unable to donate, I’m incredibly grateful. If you can’t, sharing this page on all your social media platforms will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for any support you can offer.
