When you're the one who is always helping others, asking for help can be one of the hardest things you'll ever do. Today, I'm finding myself in that position.
My wife and I have always believed in showing up for our community whenever and wherever we can. My wife serves as Chair of the Board of Education in our town, and together we have spent years volunteering, supporting local families, and doing our best to give back. We are also raising our incredible 14-year-old son, who has grown up watching the importance of helping others in times of need. Now, unexpectedly, we are the family in need. What began as a trip to the emergency department quickly became something much more serious. After extensive testing, doctors determined that my condition requires specialized medical care, and it is becoming increasingly unlikely that I will be able to return home anytime soon. Instead, I may be transferred to a specialist facility for further treatment and evaluation.
The fear and uncertainty surrounding my health have been overwhelming. Beyond the medical concerns, our family is now facing a growing financial burden that we simply were not prepared for. Being hospitalized and unable to work means that everyday necessities like groceries, utility bills, household expenses, transportation, and other basic obligations, continue to pile up while our income has been significantly impacted. The hardest part is knowing that while I focus on getting better, my wife is trying to hold everything together for our family. She is balancing concern for my health, caring for our son, fulfilling her responsibilities to our community, and managing the mounting stress that comes with unexpected medical and household expenses.
We are humbly asking for help during this difficult chapter. Every donation, no matter the amount, will help ease the financial pressure on our family and allow us to focus on what matters most: my treatment, recovery, and getting back home to the people I love. If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser would mean just as much. Your kindness, prayers, support, and generosity will help carry us through one of the most challenging times of our lives. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with our family when we need it most!
