Norman is a bright and beautiful 7-year-old boy with special needs. I had the privilege of being his school nurse in the intermediate unit, and I’ve seen firsthand how his smile can light up a room, no matter what challenges he faces. Norman’s joyful spirit and happy-go-lucky attitude are truly inspiring, even as he deals with significant medical needs every day. Recently, Norman’s family lost their insurance after filing for asylum. This has left them unable to provide the medical attention and therapies he requires, as well as the special formula he needs for his feeding tube.
