<div>Following a recent court decision ordering the immediate return of her daughter to Morocco, she is now confronting the devastating reality of a forced separation. During the initial trial, she sold all of her belongings and relied on the generosity of friends for support. However, legal proceedings — especially in international family matters — are extremely costly.

<div>In this case, the Ontario Office of the Children’s Lawyer was appointed to represent the child’s interests. After conducting an investigation, they raised serious safety concerns and identified a grave risk of harm if the child were returned. These concerns include the trauma of separation from her primary attachment figure — her mother — as well as exposure to potential physical and psychological harm, particularly given that the father was previously found guilty of physical abuse.

<div>This sudden and painful situation has caused profound emotional distress, along with significant legal and administrative expenses related to the appeal process and a motion to stay the return order.
