<div>Our Mission: Empowering low-income tenants and marginalized communities in Los Angeles through education,

<div>In response to the constant evictions and harassment faced by tenants in Los Angeles, especially those in affordable or
</div>
<div>rent-controlled housing, CELA has focused its efforts on defending the rights of tenants in mixed, low-income
</div>
<div>communities. Our work primarily benefits Spanish speakers, African Americans, Asian Americans, and others in areas
</div>
<div>such as Westlake/MacArthur Park, Pico-Union, South Los Angeles, Mid-Wilshire, Koreatown, East Los Angeles, Echo Park,
</div>
<div>and Hollywood. Additionally, our reach has expanded to South Los Angeles, and we are receiving an increasing number
</div>
<div>of requests for help from neighboring counties.
</div>
<div>For over four years, CELA has worked tirelessly with low-income tenants, using educational tools and community
</div>
<div>activities to address issues such as poor housing conditions, harassment, and the lack of due process in eviction cases.

<div>Our Key Initiatives:

<div>• Informational Workshops on Tenant Rights and Responsibilities: These workshops are designed to educate the
</div>
<div>diverse community in our area about their legal rights and responsibilities, including the proper care of the
</div>
<div>rented property, thereby fostering harmony between landlords and tenants. In this way, issues related to unsafe
</div>
<div>and unhealthy housing conditions are addressed, as well as how to protect oneself from landlord general
</div>
<div>harassment.

<div>• Community Tenant Rights Fairs: In collaboration with the Los Angeles Housing Department, the Department of
</div>
<div>Health, the Department of Consumer Affairs, attorneys, and other nonprofit organizations, these fairs inform and
</div>
<div>empower tenants to fight unjust evictions. They also provide legal resources to address violations such as
</div>
<div>trespassing, wrongful eviction, assault, defamation, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

<div>Thanks to these initiatives, tenants are more empowered to defend themselves and make informed decisions, reducing

<div>the risk of unjust evictions. This empowerment is especially crucial for families with disabled children and seniors, who
