<div>Two weeks ago, my mom’s husband was diagnosed with Stage 4 esophageal cancer. On the morning of June 30, 2025, he passed away.

<div>It was fast. It was brutal. There was no space to prepare—no time to make a plan, process anything, or even catch her breath. One day he was here, and the next he wasn’t.

<div>And somehow, this wasn’t even the first heartbreak.

<div>In the past year and a half, my mom has lost her dad (Joe), her dog (Apollo), her dad’s cat (Herbie), her brother-in-law (Harold), watched me go through breast cancer, and now—she’s lost her husband to cancer as well.

</div>

</div>

<div>She’s still in the thick of fresh grief. And she’s tired. Not just physically—but mentally, emotionally, and in every part of her that’s been trying to hold it all together for too long.

<div>My mom also lives with multiple sclerosis, which makes everything harder—even on a good day. MS affects her energy, her mobility, and her ability to function under stress. What most people can push through, she has to carefully ration. Grief like this doesn’t give her that option.

<div>My younger brother, just 23, has taken time off work the past two weeks to grieve his father as well. Everything has fallen on their shoulders—but neither of them has a financial safety net. They’re doing everything they can, and they’re still drowning.

</div>

<div>My mom and brother had believed there was a life insurance policy that would help with funeral costs, but it turned out there wasn’t one in place after all. Now, on top of fresh heartbreak, my mom is left trying to figure out how to move forward without the help they thought they’d have—while managing a chronic illness that doesn’t stop for loss.

<div>I’m doing everything I can emotionally and logistically, but I can’t take on the financial burden myself. That’s why I’m asking for help on their behalf. That’s why I’m turning to the people who know what it means to lose someone suddenly, to feel lost in the aftermath, and to need just a little extra help to stay standing.

It’s about finally letting people step in when she can’t carry it all herself anymore. When life keeps knocking you down, sometimes survival does mean reaching out.

So much grief. Just one Mom.

<p>Hi everyone, 
</p><br /><br />
<p>As most know, our dear friend Kelsie needs our support. At just 31 years old, she has been diagnosed with Stage 2, hormone positive, her2 negative, grade 3 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. She has gone through multiple biopsies, scans, MRIs, an egg retrieval cycle, and underwent a double mastectomy on May 6, 2024. 
</p><br /><br />
<p>Pathology after surgery also indicated that she has grade 3 Ductal Carcinoma in Situ as well as Grade 3 IDC. Grade 3 cells are poorly differentiated and look the most different from normal cells. They grow irregularly and many cells divide to make new cancer cells. <b>All margins luckily came back clear at this time with nothing advanced beyond the original area</b>, however, grade 3 cells tend to have a higher chance of recurrence as compared to grade 1 and grade 2 cells. 
</p><br /><br />
<p>Kelsie's journey is still far from over. She started the hardest chemotherapy regimen, ACT - also known as "red devil", on June 20th and faces more challenges ahead including physical therapy, lymphedema therapy, being put into medical menopause and multiple years of hormone blockers, among other treatments. 
</p><br /><br />
<p>According to the CDC, an estimated 10% of all new breast cancer cases are found in women younger than 45. Typical routine breast cancer screenings in this country start at the age of 40. It is Kelsie's goal to be an advocate to the younger population of women in this country and to educate them on self-screening and self-advocating to their medical professionals - which is commendable. 
</p><br /><br />
<p>Kelsie is someone you can count on to always have your back while making great memories along the way. Her strength and resilience are truly inspiring! She plans to continue attending work starting next week in order to maintain health insurance, but unfortunately, she won't be able to take on her normal hours. As a nurse, Kelsie has always been there to take care of others, and <b><i>now it's our turn to take care of her</i></b>. 
</p><br /><br />
<p>Kelsie often teaches us to live life to the fullest. She loves spending her summers skydiving, a passion she’s had to put on hold this year. Kelsie's love for adventure and skydiving is a symbol of her resilience and determination to get back to all the things she cares for and misses. It's Kelsie's courage that inspires us to stand by her side as she faces this head-on. 
</p><br /><br />
<p>So, I'm asking for your help. As Kelsie's friends, family, and fellow adventurers, we can help to ease her stress and lift her spirit! We are raising funds to help cover Kelsie’s rising medical expenses and any other financial burdens during this journey full of emotional and physical hurdles. Help Kelsie Kick Breast Cancer's Butt

On Sat June 22nd, My best friend Briana &amp; her family had the worst day of their entire lives. Her husband John was rushed to the hospital non responsive &amp; in serious condition. After a 5hr long, life saving surgery John ended up having a large tumor removed from the right side of his brain and had to have part of his skull removed. This was a very unexpected occurrence that has me beside myself for my best friend and her family. The last thing they need to be worried about is financial stress. We are not sure what the future holds at this time but we are holding onto each day and praying that with each day John gets stronger and stronger. He has shown great improvement considering it has only been 3 days  but they still have a long road ahead of them. They have a 6 year old son little John and a 4 year old daughter Naomi that need their Daddy.  I am asking if you can donate even a $1 it will go to help them with medical bills &amp; daily needs for their family as they will be spending a lot of time at the hospital.<br />Thank you all SO SO much from the bottom of my heart. Help Briana & John Geddis with Medical Expenses

This is my dad, Bruce Henry. He is one of the kindest, most gentle people you could ever hope to meet. He was driving home late from work last night (12/19/17), which is very typical as he is in commissioned retail sales. On his way home, he hit an icy patch, and wrecked his truck. He suffered a dislocated/broken (nearly shattered) hip, broken hand and several other injuries. He was lying in the mud in a ditch for nearly an hour calling for help before a truck also hit an icy patch and spun out, shining thier lights on him. They were able to call for help and get him to the hospital. Had they not spun out, who knows how long he would have been lying there helpless. He is going in for reconstructive hip surgery tomorrow (12/21/17) to hopefully pin him back together. My dad is facing several mountains in the coming months. Physically as he recovers, financially as he has to figure out how to pay for all of these bills, a new car, and being out of work for at least a couple months if not several. He is going to have to figure out how to walk again, and get his life back. On top of all of the other hurdles in front of him, my parents will have to figure out how to afford going to my brothers wedding next June in North Carolina. Any money you could donate towards helping my dad and our family put back the pieces from this devastating event would be greatly appreciated. My sister and I will be around as much as possible to lend a hand, but my two brothers who are on active duty service with the Marine Corps won't even be able to see him for several months.
