My name is Sherri, and I’m reaching out for support as I navigate a challenging chapter in my life. In 2023, I underwent surgery to remove my bladder due to cancer, and after three years of hoping I’d left cancer behind, I was diagnosed in March with Stage 3 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma Breast Cancer with malignant axillary nodes. I’ve had 12 weeks of chemotherapy treatments. Chemo has been incredibly tough, causing severe side effects that made it difficult for me to work consistently. I’ve done my best to keep going, but the financial strain has become overwhelming. I am currently in a no paid due status at work, which means I don’t have vacation or sick leave to help cover my expenses when I’m unable to work. With surgery scheduled for July 29th and a recovery period of 6 to 8 weeks, followed by 30 days of radiation therapy, I’m facing a long road ahead. I need help covering my rent, utilities, insurance, and car payment—essential living expenses that I simply can’t manage on my own right now.
