My name is Jessie, and I’m reaching out for help during one of the hardest times of my life. After my dad passed away in April, everything started to fall apart for me and my family. On top of the grief, my car began to break down piece by piece—a big oil leak, broken struts, and a damaged brake line. Each problem made it harder to keep up, and now my car is completely out of commission. Having reliable transportation is so important for me, especially now that the weather is turning cold. Without my car, I’ve had to walk to work every day, which has been exhausting and overwhelming. Fixing my car would mean I could get to work safely and start to rebuild some stability for myself and my family. I’m someone who never asks for help, but after losing my dad, it’s been so hard for me, my mom, and my brothers. I didn’t know what to do until I saw an ad for GoFundMe.
