My name is cody, and after seven years with my girlfriend, we recently went our separate ways. Now, I’m a single dad to my 11-year-old son, Jamie, doing my best to keep us both moving forward. Living with disabilities and stage 4 COPD, I’m on a limited disability income, which makes it tough to cover all the basics, let alone the big changes we’re facing. We have about half a year to find a new place to live—somewhere that won’t break us financially, and where Jamie can have his own room on the same floor as me. That would make things so much easier and safer for both of us. Moving is a real challenge for me because I can’t lift or carry much, and my health is declining. I want to make sure Jamie has stability and a safe place to call home, but I can’t do it alone. Any support you can give will help us secure a new home and cover the costs of moving our things. I am diagnosed with stage 4 COPD, CHF, and several other problems which made me disabled. That being said, I'm also 530 pounds, working on losing weight. Now, this also means I make less than $1k a month to try to find a place to live because me and my girlfriend of 7 years just broke up. Why would they give you enough to live on type shit? So, yeah, GOOD NEWS is I have a year to find a place and get help!!!! ALSO, I will not move further into Danville and/or Peoria. Thank y'all in advance for even taking your time to read this!!! That's very appreciated. Just if ANYONE finds a cheap place or low income around Oakwood, I would love to keep my son in Oakwood school, but again, will not go further into Danville or inside Peoria and shit!!!
