<div>On February 16, 2025, the lives of the Murphy family changed forever. Charlie (13), Georgia (12), Jojo, and Quin were on their way home from a volleyball tournament in Chicago when a driver attempting to pass on the other side of the road did not see their car and hit them head-on.
</div>
<div>The accident was devastating. Charlie and Georgia were med-flighted to Chicago-area children's hospitals, while Jojo and Quin were taken to another hospital, and Jojo was later transferred to another. This has left their family physically separated in 4 different hospitals, each fighting their own battles to heal, with separate care teams and individual family members being at every location helping them.

<div><strong>Charlie</strong> (13) is kind, funny, and full of creativity. He has a heart of gold, a natural charisma that draws people in, and a love for bike riding, video games, and hanging out with his friends.

<div><strong>Georgia</strong> (12) is fun, kind, and full of energy. She is a dedicated volleyball player for Madtown 121 National Team who loves spending time with her friends and teammates. Her passion for Volleyball and her bright personality make her an amazing friend. She loves all things girly from skincare, hair, make-up to all the fun!

<div>Jojo and Quin are amazing parents who are deeply rooted in Middleton/Cross Plains, and St. Francis community in Cross Plains, WI. Quin works as a general contractor, and Jojo is an office manager. They are the kind of people who give so much, and now they need our help. Jojo (Jennifer) is the daughter of Greg &amp; Kate Roessler of Cross Plains. Quin is the son of Tom and Kate Murphy of Cross Plains.

<div><strong>Charlie &amp; Georgia </strong>– Both remain medically sedated as they recover from surgeries, with more ahead. They are in critical but stable condition and are in the best possible care.

<div><strong>Quin </strong>– Multiple broken bones- pelvic, leg, ankle, and internal injuries. He has been transferred out of ICU and is doing better but has a long healing process and more surgeries ahead.

<div><strong>Jojo</strong> – Suffered five broken bones in her back, a fractured sternum, wrist, and finger, along with cuts and bruises. She remains incredibly strong for her family and is expected to be fitted for a back brace today before being transferred out of ICU soon.

<div>This journey will require months of recovery, physical therapy, home modifications (wheel chairs and ramps), and extensive medical care. Quin's work as a general contractor requires manual labor, which he won’t be able to do for months. With both parents unable to work, the family needs financial support to cover living expenses, medical bills, and ongoing care for at least the next six months.

Support for the Murphy Family – A Long Road to Recovery

<div>Samuel (Samy) Garduno-Martinez is a happy, obedient, respectful young man, a good friend, an excellent son, and a brother who loves God with an unwavering faith. Unfortunately, he was at Abundant Life Christian School on December 16, 2024 when the shooting occurred.
</div>

</div>
<div>For the past 9 ½ months our son has been at American Family Children’s Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. My husband and I have stayed by his side, seven days a week, praying for a miracle. Samy’s life changed forever after being shot; two times in the head (possibly three times), once in the lower back, and once in his right arm. Samy underwent emergency surgery to relieve his swollen brain and tend to damage in his kidney and liver. Samy fell into a coma and was recovering in the Intensive Care Unit. The doctors gave little hope, despite having done everything possible to save his life. Three days later, Samy opened his eyes. That was the first miracle of resurrection in Samy’s life. Samy began to slowly recover with the help of doctors, nurses, and various physical, occupational, and speech therapists. He underwent lumbar spine surgery, required a feeding tube, as well as a procedure on his vocal cords to help him speak. After a month, Samy started talking again. Samy was scheduled to be discharged on April 8, but in March, tragedy again struck as Samy developed a devastating inflammation of his brain (encephalitis) as a result of the initial trauma. Samy was again admitted to the intensive care unit; intubated, in a coma, and again fighting for his life. We could only hope for another miracle from God.

<div>After 6 months, with numerous challenges and various new medications and treatments, another miracle occurred, the second resurrection. "Mom," said Samy. He hadn’t spoken a single word for 6 months. He moved his right arm and opened his eyes briefly. Our long hours of waiting were rewarded with this small glimmer of hope. Every day, Samy improves, showing his strength and determination, smiling, making small movements with his hand, and improving his speech, but mostly saying “Mom”! Although Samy is making progress, he still has a very long way to go. Fortunately, he has reached the point where he no longer needs a ventilator, but will require 24-hour care to perform and complete the basic activities of life. The next step in his recovery will be an admission at a specialized rehabilitation hospital near Chicago. Espiri, Dani (younger brother) and I will accompany Samy, temporarily relocating to the Chicago area to continue caring for him and supporting him. We need financial assistance since we have not returned to work since the shooting because we’ve stayed in the hospital with Samy due to his critical condition. This means we will need significant assistance for lodging, food, fuel, and support for the 2-3 months while we are away from home. In addition, we are preparing for a handicap accessible rental property after the rehab hospital while we determine the most significant need of long-term housing (a new house) and accessible transportation to meet Samy’s needs.

Support Garduno's Family after ALCS Shooting

<div>Hi! My name is Chelsea, and I am writing this for my parents who are currently working through cancer treatments.
</div>
<div>Both of my parents have been diagnosed with cancer, within weeks of one another. Something that I never thought would happen to either one, happened to both. My mother has been diagnosed with breast cancer and my father has been diagnosed with prostate cancer that has metastasized to his spine. My mother has had to go onto FMLA, which means she does not get paid for the days she does not work, as she has already used up all of her vacation and sick days. This is due to the fact that the chemotherapy has made her extremely weak, nauseous, and tired. I have been assisting, when possible, in cooking, cleaning, and daily activities that healthy people can complete. My father has been taking medication that has made him extremely tired as well, even though he has been working. The medical bills are starting to accumulate and will continue to come in throughout their treatments. Although they have insurance, my mother still has to pay for her portion of her insurance even though she is not being paid when she cannot work. Just prior to my parents being diagnosed with cancer, they purchased a very small home that is a fixer-upper, and the home did not even have all the appliances in operating condition.
</div>
<div>We are asking for some assistance until my mother is able to go back to work full time in order to help pay the medical bills for both of them.
</div>

Assist Chelsea's Family Through Cancer Treatments

<div>Hello, my name is Abby. My two year old dog Maurice had a terrible accident last Sunday 3/3/24. His paw got stuck in a raised garden bed at the UW Madison Memorial Union which left him bloody, in extreme pain and traumatized.  Perfect strangers helped me get my 120 pound baby into my vehicle.  In retrospect it was a beautiful display of humanity and compassion from perfect strangers.  His paw was shattered in 4 places and hanging on by a thread.  The vet asked if he got stuck in a bear trap because the injury was so extreme.  
</div>
<div>Our main mission was to save his leg so these past days he’s been at the emergency vet getting sedated twice daily to clean the bone and the dying flesh in hopes of saving his leg. Unfortunately today 3/8/24 we got the news that Maurice’s leg is not salvageable. He is currently going into surgery to amputate the leg. 
</div>
<div>Although Maurice will be everybody’s favorite tripod his leg will be missed dearly by many and his accident will forever be traumatic for everyone involved.  
</div>

<div>My fun and feisty Aunt Traci sadly passed away from metastatic cervical cancer October 22nd despite a valiant fight with chemotherapy and extensive surgery at the age of 49. She leaves behind three children; one adult child, Tyler, and two 15 year old twins- Erin and Shelby. We are working to transition the twins into their new home with family, which is a home filled with immense love and support; however it already has 3 young kids. We are realizing funds are now quite limited between a memorial service, medical bills, and creating this new safe and secure space for them to transition into on short notice.

Memorial for Traci and support for her children

We're asking for help for our dear friends and neighbors, the Eilers family. It's for expenses related to multiple, chronic and critical medical conditions that the father, Bill, and daughter, Riley, have both recently suffered from.<br /><br />Riley, a 19 year old college student, has been suffering from a number of lifelong autoimmune diseases including: Type One Diabetes (she is currently on an insulin pump), Graves Disease (her thyroid gland doesn't work), and Celiac (can’t eat gluten). However, in May of this year, Riley became gravely ill and has not been able to eat any food at all since then. She was fitted with a feeding tube and that is how she has been surviving since then. She also has not been able to eliminate body waste.<br /><br /> Riley has been diagnosed with two chronic diseases;<br /><br />1. AutoImmune Autonomic Ganglionopathy - (AAG) a rare autoimmune disorder in which the body's immune system mistakenly attacks and damages certain parts of the autonomic nervous system. Paralyzing the esophagus, stomach and colon.<br /><br />2. GastroParesis - a disorder of the digestive system in which the stomach cannot properly digest food and pass it on to the intestines and rejects food and water.<br /><br /> Riley has since been hospitalized six times since May, with several instances of an ambulance pulling up to the house because her feeding tube would come up, causing her to vomit and choke. Because of this, her feeding tube has now been surgically implanted and faces almost certain serious interventional procedures in the coming year.<br /><br />Because Riley cannot eat or eliminate body waste properly - her diabetes has also become a critical, intensified, daily threat.<br /><br /> As all of this has been going on, her father Bill has been critically ill as well with hereditary advanced heart disease. Bill has been hospitalized seven times since 2018 – the most recent in late August 2020 for an angioplasty stent procedure.<br /><br />He received open heart surgery (a quadruple bypass) in 2018, but had serious complications with the surgery. During the surgery, Bill had a rare reaction to the blood thinner used by the doctors and the reaction went undetected. He was ultimately sent home and as a result, had massive blood clots in his heart and lungs and the clots caused all of the bypass grafts (except one) to fail. Since then, he has been back and hospitalized six times - receiving over a dozen stents to keep his vascular system open.<br /><br />From 2018 to present, Bill has been hospitalized for a total of 49 days and has received a total of 14 cardiac stents in six separate procedures, and will require aggressive and consistent care for the rest of his life.<br /><br /> April (wife and mom) continues to hold up the family. She serves our veterans at the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis in her role as Photographer/Videographer chronicling veteran’s recoveries.  Bill has fought hard to remain on his feet and fully employed since the quadruple bypass in 2018.  He has worked full time since March of 2019, as a Supported Employment Teams Manager for Opportunity Partners, a non-profit agency serving adults with disabilities. Quinn (the oldest daughter), a nursing student, has stepped up by working during the school year, and in the summers, and has paid for nearly all of her own tuition for her nursing program during the family's hard times.<br /><br />The family has been seriously burdened with scheduled and emergency hospital visits and is still playing catch up from ongoing medical emergencies. They will exceed their $20,000 out-of-pocket deductible in 2020 and expenses will continue to climb well into 2021 and beyond.<br /><br />As I mentioned, this family would never ask for help from anyone and even though they are going through all of this, would do anything they could to be of help to someone else. Support for the Eilers family

<p>Our dad, Mark Fischer was in a bike accident on Thursday, June 11th. He suffered minor breakage and bruising to his upper spinal cord, causing paralyzation from his shoulders down. This is going to be a very slow and long process, but the goal is to bring him home and we hope to see him regain movement in his right arm so he can have a "quality" life (Feeding himself, steering an electric wheelchair, draw/paint, hold something in his right hand). He is currently at Froedtert Hospital and is working on rehab.
</p>

<p>It’s now been a month since the accident, and wehave seen some incredible improvements. His right arm can move a little more, and we just discovered he can now wiggle his toes and slightly kick his legs. Truly a miracle! After analyzing his swallowing strength and weaning off the ventilator,he can now eat solid foods as well. He is now using a wheelchair that uses the “sip and puff” straw to control the chair. The chair is ultra sensitive and very frustrating, but we hope in time we will get a custom chair that will be specifically geared for dad and work better.  We are all trying to take this day by day, but we do know the future has drastically changed and more adjustments will need to happen to accommodate our Dad. We are building a 19-foot ramp going up to our front door, rearranging our home for the time-being to make it semi-suitable for him, learning all the sensitive cares and needs he will have to have 24/7, and bringing in some medical equipment and a hospital bed. We most likely are going to need home care around the clock, and eventually we may have to say goodbye to our current home and rent an apartment or buy a house more accessible for him and closer to Froedtert. We continue to tell our dad despite his worries that even though there are many changes happening, all of this is worth it no matter what. We will be there for him every step of the way and we will fight by his side during this extremely difficult time. <br /><br />Our dad is such a hardworking and caring man, who loves his family, friends, and coworkers so much. We are hoping he continues to fight this terrible tragedy mentally and physically, and will make it home to us. We love him so much. <br /><br />Thank you everyone for the continued love, support, and prayers.

Adam A. Haag, age 37, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 10, 2019. Adam was born on April 4, 1981 in Madison, WI to Larry Haag and Mary (Maasch) Slattery. He moved to Oshkosh in May of last year to be closer to his son, Deonte - who he loved dearly.<br /><br />Adam was full of life and had an amazing heart. His love and loyalty to those close to him was immeasurable. He enjoyed spending time and musky fishing at his dad's cottages - Haag's Haven, and four-wheeling with his son, Deonte. Nothing was more important to Adam than his family. He was a loving father, son, brother, and nephew. He will be dearly missed by all those that had the honor of knowing him and loving him.<br /><br />Your contribution to this fund will be used towards Deonte's future education.

<p>On July 10th Ryan Welch was 20 minutes into his shift as a Volunteer Firefighter when the call came in for a natural gas leak.  <br /><br />As the team discovered that this was a highly dangerous situation, they evacuated a block of Downtown Sun Prairie.  Two In, Two Out, in teams they worked to shut off the gas in the century old buildings. Two In, Ryan and Capt. Cory Barr got all the gas shut off and walked out of the Barr House, job well done. Two Out.<br /><br />Then the building exploded.<br /><br />We lost Cory.  Ryan is still with us, but has a long road ahead.  Volunteer Firefighters are regular people, with regular jobs, who do extraordinary things just to give back to the community.  Ryan is a mechanic, he works with his hands.  His face is burned, his jaw is broken in several places, he lost teeth, his hands are injured.  A building fell on him, but he was up walking (with help) the next day.
</p>

<p>Please give what you can to help Ryan and his family while he's trying to get back to work. He won't ask for himself, but he will climb stairs for any charity, just ask him.  He won't tell you he's hurting, but he would pull you from the wreckage.  We won't let you know he's a softy, but he will (I have pictures) make sure to save a kitten from a fire.

On the morning of March 25, 2016 Rob and Michael were involved in a horrific automobile accident just outside of Chicago, Illinois.  Rob has suffered serious injuries to his neck, back and spine.   Michael suffered minor injuries and has been by Rob's side since the accident.<br /><br />Rob continues to be in an intensive care unit.  Many of you have expressed interest in sending flowers and gifts which Rob and Michael greatly appreciate, but instead ask to consider contributing to the fund that has been created on their behalf.  <br /><br />This fund has been set up to pay for medical expenses and to support Rob's recovery and lifelong journey he is now faced with.<br /><br />Michael &amp; Rob are <strong>EXTREMELY </strong>grateful for all of the prayers, love, and support from family, friends and co-workers.  They ask that you keep the both of them and especially Rob in your thoughts and prayers while they navigate during this difficult time.

On Thursday, April 21, Hayley Krause and another young lady (Ari) were crossing the street near their school when they were struck by a reckless driver who was eluding law enforcement. He struck the girls without stopping, speeding away and causing another accident and injury less than a half mile away. Both girls were seriously injured in this tragic hit-and-run incident and were emergently transported to the hospital. <br /><br />The individual who hit these girls has no license and carries no insurance. <br /><br />Hayley's father is Lieutenant Tim Krause of the Middleton Fire District. Members of his fire department family responded to the scene, treating and transporting his daughter to the hospital. <br /><br />As his extended family, the members of Middleton Fire Company #1 are standing strong for both Hayley and Ari as they recover. While we are enraged at this reckless incident, we are steady and committed to supporting Hayley, the Krause family, Ari and our community. <br /><br />In addition to other ongoing efforts by our fire family, we are seeking to help the Krause family with the mounting expenses involved in recovering from this awful situation. We ask that you contribute whatever you can, as soon as you can, to help the family devote their time and attention to Hayley's recovery and well-being.
