A very big passion of his. He leaves behind a wife and two children who would benefit from the support towards Dave’s funeral and affairs being put in order. <div>As lots of you know, our Minnie suffers with a rare and complex form of heart disease, Ebstein's anomaly, with all associated defects (she has an extensive medical history!). Minnie’s conditions are life-limiting, and she has spent lots of time in hospital seriously unwell; she has endured 17 procedures including 3 major heart surgeries to date.
</div>

<div>Two years ago, our brave daughter Minnie underwent two major heart surgeries at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh with the world-renowned Da Silva team. After years of being told it would never be possible, it was nothing short of a miracle that the Da Silvas were able to create Minnie a tricuspid valve using nothing but her own heart tissue. The operations gave Minnie a second chance at life allowing her to smile, laugh, play, go to school, and enjoy being a child again.

<div>However we’ve been devastated to learn that the repair is failing and intervention is once again essential for Minnie’s survival. Since Minnie is symptomatic- breathless, cyanosed, extra fatigued, and there is turbulence (tricuspid regurgitation) and significant gradient (tricuspid stenosis), and right-to-left shunting on the ASD (blood leaking back and forth a hole in top two chambers of her heart). Dr DaSilva has determined that Minnie needs another open heart surgery to resolve the issues with her newly created tricuspid valve. They say the sooner she can return to America, the greater the benefit will be for her.

<div>Minnie urgently needs further specialist tricuspid valve repair surgery back in Pittsburgh with the same surgical team who helped to save her life before.
</div>

<div>We will do absolutely everything we can to get her there, but we cannot do this alone.

<div>The total contracted cost of surgery is £110,800 which just covers the cost of the repair and preliminary testing. What is not included is flights, insurance, accommodation, medical oxygen, food, etc.

<div>Today, we are launching this community fundraising campaign dedicated to helping Minnie get back to America for the life-saving treatment she desperately needs, and very much deserves.

<div>My baby boy, Ollie, is just 13 months old. At only two weeks old, he was unexpectedly diagnosed with a rare and complex heart condition: pulmonary atresia with ventricular septal defect and major aortopulmonary collateral arteries (PA-VSD MAPCAs).
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Since then, Ollie has spent much of his first year in and out of hospital. But despite everything he’s been through, he is the happiest, cheekiest little boy. He loves bubbles, ducks, and making everyone around him laugh.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Ollie is my only child. He is my whole world.
</div>
<div>And he deserves the chance to grow up, to go to school, make friends, and live the full life every child should have.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Why Stanford?</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Ollie’s condition is life-limiting without surgery. So far, three major hospitals in the UK and more across Europe have told us the same devastating thing:

<div>“We can’t operate.”
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The only option offered here is palliative care, to make him comfortable, but not to save him.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As his mum, I can’t and won’t accept that as his only future.

<div>That’s when we found Stanford Children’s Hospital in California. The world’s leading centres for Ollie’s exact condition.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Stanford have reviewed Ollie’s case and offered us hope: they believe he is operable, and have accepted him for life-saving surgery.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>The Plan: Two Stages to Save His Life</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Stanford will begin with a pulmonary artery reconstruction, which is the most urgent step. Right now, Ollie’s lung arteries are underdeveloped, making a full repair impossible. This surgery will improve blood flow to the lungs, helping his arteries grow strong enough over the next 6–9 months.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Once that happens, Ollie will be ready for stage two: the full repair.
</div>
<div>We’re hopeful this second stage can be done back here in the UK.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>But it all depends on getting him to America first.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>The Challenge</strong>

</div>
<div>This first stage of surgery can’t be done in the UK, as the NHS simply doesn’t have the expertise required.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The confirmed cost of treatment, recovery, and aftercare at Stanford is £1.5 million.
</div>

<div>It’s an unimaginable figure for any parent.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>

<div>We new our baby boy was special the minute he was born, we just didn’t anticipate just how special he was going to be

<div>On the 26th Feb 2024 I woke up to every parent’s worst nightmare and my beautiful, happy, healthy smiley boy was blue and not breathing.
</div>
<div>I never thought I would ever have to give anyone CPR but there I was giving my 7 month old baby mouth to mouth. On the 5th breath albie finally took a breath and before I knew it the ambulance and my family were by my side.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>we were taken to Hastings hospital and by Monday night Albie seemed to of made a full recovery. On Tuesday morning Albie started having seizures which continued untill Thursday morning were they decided they would have to put him into an induced coma as they had run out of medicines to try and control them.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>That is when the evelina childrens hospital took over &lt;3 by Thursday evening we were told Albie had a rare brain condition which had caused his brain to swell which was then causing him to have sezuires. They told us the the next 72 hours were critical to whether he would make it or not. But I never gave up on hope. I knew my boy was put on this earth for a reason. And I knew there was a reason why I woke up that morning when I did and brought him back to life.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>3 days went by they tried all different kind of drugs and nothing seemed to work. They even tried waking Albie up and he went straight back into having sezuires so they had to put him back to sleep.
</div>
<div>after 5 days of intense steroids to help with the swelling we was sat down and told that not only did our baby have a rare brain condition but he had a condition that they had never seen or treated before but they would do all they could to save him. The only way I can describe it is that Albie caught an infection.. and instead of it attacking his brain cells in Albies case it jumped into his brain cells. They were going to try a new drug that would be drip fed into him over 2 days.. we named it “The Army” where thousands of tiny anti bodies would go into Albies body and attack the one thing that was hurting my baby.. it only needed 1 tiny anti body to get through and get rid of it. If this drug worked then they would have the cure for future babies that may come in with the same systems and that’s when I new my baby wasn’t just put on this earth to save my life.. he was put on this earth to save many more

<div>they told us that Albie only had a very small chance of recovering and if he did recover then there was a high chance of him being severely brain damaged.
</div>
<div>but we still never gave up on hope.
</div>
<div>after 2 days they decided to try and start waking Albie up again and started to reduce all the medication he was on..
</div>
<div>from the minute they starting waking up.. in my eyes was the start of us witnessing a miracle
</div>
<div>he’s not only woke up without any seizures but he’s thriving, his right side of his body is a lot weaker but with the right physio I know in my heart it will be just fine. we have now been moved out of intensive care and we are now in a ward where we will stay untill it’s safe to come home.. but home really is wherever my baby is
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>we were told Albie only had a small chance of recovering that if he even survived this.. and as I write this we are on our way home with our “small chance” happy, thriving boy and I honestly have never felt happiness like it. Albies will always have this brain condition which they have called AISD but there is nothing to say what has happened will ever happen again. There may be some long term effect but we won’t know untill Albie starts growing up and if there is any then we will cross that bridge when we come to it &lt;3 all I know is that my baby’s heart is pumping and his lungs are working and he has his infectious smile back and that’s all that really matters &lt;3

The Albies Army Trust

<div><strong>I have set up this page to help Daisys family with funds towards the funeral. It will come as a major shock to everyone that on Sunday 4th June 2023 Daisy was returning from the P.I.L rally where she has a fantastic weekend after rebuilding her trike following an accident she won the best “paint job” trophy…. Everyone who knows Daisy and her trike knows that “it’s a wrap job!” But hey she was over the moon to still win!  </strong>
</div>
<div><strong>On the way home there was an horrific RTC where Daisy was involved in a collision with another vehicle, paramedics worked on her but she didn’t make it and now heaven has gained another amazing angel! Trust me she will be already giving them hell up there!! </strong>

<div><strong>We will all miss you, it was a pleasure to of had you in our lives. You are going to be missed on all of our rides and meets, Lincs Imps won’t be the same without you around! </strong>

Daisy aka Madmax passed away 4th June 2023

<div>We have just lost our Beautiful Brave Border Terrier ‘Benson’ at the age of 16 yrs 5 Months. He was an incredible dog who inspired so many people because he used wheels. Benson slipped a disk aged 4 and became paralysed. Unfortunately surgery was unsuccessful. We were determined not to give up on him as he was still the exact same fabulous dog, it was just his back legs that didn’t work. We borrowed some old wheels from the vet and Benson accepted them straight away, so we decided to buy him his own wheels. These came from America and were a huge expense after very high vet bills. That money was the best we ever spent! They gave Benson his life and his freedom back. We threw his tennis ball and off he went. Benson walked hundreds and hundreds or miles in his wheels over the years in this country and beyond. Nothing stood in his way, fields, woodland, sand and snow he zoomed through them all. Everywhere he went he made people smile because they could see how much he loved life and how much freedom his wheels gave him. He was our pride and joy and we are so proud of him. Unfortunately dogs can’t life forever and on the 22/7/22 we had to say the hardest good bye! Those wheels gave Benson twelve more years of life.

<div>I have discovered an amazing charity called “Winston’s Wheels” who buy and then loan out dog wheelchairs and strollers to dogs in need! The wheels are then returned when no longer needed, to help another dog. It’s all done in memory of Winston, another amazing dog who thrived on wheels. I believe it’s a fantastic charity who helps families going through the most difficult time, to give their dogs the chance at life that they all deserve.

<div>We have set up this page in the hope we can raise some money for this very worthy cause in Benson’s name, so that other dogs can be given the opportunity to live their lives to the full and shine their lights wherever they go just like Benson did. He was our star and will live in us forever.

10hr static bike ride for DISC Dementia Support

We’re still reeling from the loss of Liam; he is on our minds and in our thoughts constantly. The effort, energy and love put into activities and projects to raise funds in Liam’s name over the past eighteen months has been unbelievable in so many ways, and allowed so many people to come together to remember and celebrate our son and brother, to share stories, to laugh, to cry.  <br /><br />We’d like to thank everyone who has been a part of these events so far for their love and support, and also to say we’ve been in constant contact with the organisation Future Men (<a href="https://futuremen.org"><a href="https://futuremen.org" target="_blank" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://futuremen.org</a></a>) throughout, to learn just how much the funds raised have been able to help them in all they do for at-risk young men and boys across London.
