<p>I never thought I’d be in a place where I’d have to ask for help like this—but right now, I truly need it.

<p>I’m trying to rebuild my life after some really difficult setbacks, and at the moment I’m also facing serious heart issues and preparing for surgery. Everything has been harder than I ever expected. 
</p>
<p>The biggest thing holding me back right now is something most people take for granted: a reliable vehicle. 
</p>
<p>Without transportation, I’m stuck. I can’t fully get back on my feet, return to work, or move forward the way I’m fighting to. 
</p>
<p>I’m not asking for a handout—I’m asking for a chance to regain independence and stability. 
</p>
<p>I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who has donated thus far.  But I still have a long way to go.

Rebuilding My Life While Facing Heart Surgery

<div>This is really hard for me to write because I hate asking for help but I’ve found myself in a situation I just can’t handle alone.

<div>I’ve been traveling in Alaska and what was supposed to be a meaningful trip has taken a hard turn. My motor blew unexpectedly in the 4runner and now I’m stranded, thousands of miles from home in Utah with no way to get back.

<div>I’m doing everything I can to stay positive but the truth is, this has left me feeling lost. The cost of fixing or replacing the motor is more than I can afford right now. I never thought I’d be in this position, stuck far from home, asking for help but here I am, trying to get back to the people and place I love.

Stranded and Struggling — Just Trying to Get Home

<div>Hi!  My name is Kris and I am fundraising for Shannon Maupin, my BFF!  As most of you know, Shannon was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2002.  She has since been diagnosed in 2019 with Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer.

<div>For all of you that know Shannon, she is NOT one to ask for help, so I decided to start this fund for her.  
</div>
<div>She is going through chemotherapy and has lost her hair again.  She has been graciously given a wig, but it is synthetic.  It’s hot and not very natural, which is not conducive to her working and busy lifestyle.   She would love to get a wig made with real hair- but those are extremely expensive.

<div>She also has ever mounting medical bills and trying to support herself in California.  Not the cheapest state to live in.  If you could find it in your heart to help with any donations, she would be so incredible grateful.

Ember was lucky to have a mother like Erin. I'm trying to help my sister with some of the things she doesn't need to worry about right now.

Funeral expenses.

Hi, my name is Katie and I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 12, and am now 30 years old. I was recently diagnosed with stage 4 Proliferative Diabetic Retinopathy in both of my eyes, as well as macular edema (swelling  inside the eye).  This advanced stage of retinopathy triggers the growth of new blood vessels in the eyes. These new blood vessels leak blood and fluid into the eye and severe vision loss and eventually complete blindness results. To stop the formation of new blood vessels, and to prevent them from leaking further, medicine is injected into the eyes monthly (which helps to slow down the process). These injections are $350 per eye ($700/month), and the medicine used is $2000. I’m not asking for much, but I am asking for help. This condition is ongoing for the rest of my life.

Blindness Treatments: Proliferative Retinopathy

John’s family took in a miniature dachshund on Easter from a family who said they were rehoming their puppy, only to find out now that the lady who they adopted the puppy from was most likely running a puppy mill. The new puppy, who they named Ruby, started to show signs of being ill a few days after. Thinking she may have eaten something bad, they took her to the vet and instead found that she had a severe case of Parvovirus and the breeder had sold them a sick puppy.<br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/47518472_1587332995393613_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" alt="47518472_1587332995393613_r.jpeg" /><br />The vet told John’s family that the virus is attacking her intestines and that she would need to undergo treatment. It has a 80% success rate and they think that she will recover if given immediate attention. Unfortunately the cost for the treatment is incredibly expensive. The treatment in total will end up costing $12,900. The family has paid $5.9k into it already and needs to provide $5k more.<br /><br />John is one of the artists at the Hideaway and he has been with us a long time. This time is already a difficult and uncertain time for self-employed artists. John has not been able to tattoo since the covid19 shelter in place order, and he does not know when he will be going back in to work. He normally never asks for help, but in this case he can’t afford to jeopardize the financial situation of his family so he decided to turn to his community for help. I am setting up this fund for John because he is one of the members of the Hideaway family. The goal is to raise $5k but we would appreciate anything you have to give. The funds will raise will go directly to John in helping his puppy Ruby.
