First of all, I’d like to thank you all for taking the time to support my daughter Amahji Cook on her journey to college. She successfully graduated from San Domenico School in May 2025, where she played on the Varsity basketball team all four of her years there. She even managed to hold a Captain position during senior year while keeping up with her studies. After graduating high school she decided to take a year off of school to focus on saving money and gearing herself up mentally to start school the year after.
Amahji has since decided to enroll at PIMA community college in Tucson, Arizona and will be starting this upcoming Fall. She will be majoring in psychology and has hopes to pursue a career having to do with counseling or psychiatry. Her plan is to do 2 years of community college in Arizona before transferring to a nearby 4-year university. Amahji’s goal is to take time to explore a new environment while also continuing to her passion for Psychology.
I’d like to ask you all to help support her on her journey anyway that you can. While she has received FAFSA and school is mostly covered, unfortunately housing is out of pocket. She is already in the process of getting a new job to maintain housing while down there but she will need some help getting the necessities to sustain her first month or so. She is also traveling by car in order to bring her belongings and will need support for a rental and gas.
Thank you for all your help, even if it’s just sharing the link. I appreciate each and every one of you who have watched her grow and contributed to that growth in one way or another. I owe a lot of credit to the coaches and extra mentors around her that never gave up on her and always looked out. I don’t know how we would have gotten here without all the help from our village.
