What they care about

A New Chapter in This Journey of Faith and Hope ❤️ It’s been a little over a year since the day I received the news that I had a malignant tumor. A year that completely changed my life and taught me more than I ever imagined about faith, patience, strength, and what truly matters. It’s also been almost eight months since my 17-hour surgery, during which my surgeons were able to remove approximately 91% of the disease. Recovery has been anything but easy. I’ve experienced complications, additional hospitalizations, and moments when it felt like I was taking two steps forward and one step back. But thank God, physically I’m doing so much better. I’ve regained some of the weight I lost, I’m eating again, and little by little, I’m starting to feel more like myself. However, feeling better doesn’t mean the cancer is gone. Yesterday, I had an important appointment with my oncologist. My tumor markers continue to rise, and the amount of fluid in my abdomen has increased since May. Because of these changes, my oncologist believes it’s time to consider treatment again to help control the disease that remained after surgery. He presented two options: low-intensity chemotherapy or an oral medication called Ibrance (palbociclib), which has shown promising results in a small study involving only 16 patients with a similar type of cancer. While this gives me hope, there are still many unanswered questions about how effective it may be. Right now, I’m researching both options, seeking additional opinions, and trying to understand which approach may give me the best chance of controlling the disease while protecting the quality of life I’ve worked so hard to regain. I won’t pretend I left that appointment feeling completely at peace. Part of me felt relieved knowing there may be another option besides chemotherapy. But another part of me felt scared. After everything my body has been through, the thought of starting another treatment is overwhelming. And yes, I have faith. So much faith. But having faith doesn’t mean I don’t feel fear. It means that even when I’m afraid, I continue trusting God and taking the next step. I don’t know yet which treatment I’ll choose, but I do know I’m not walking this journey alone. To every person who has donated, shared my story, sent a message, or kept me in your prayers throughout this past year: THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART. Your generosity has helped me continue exploring treatment options, receiving medical care, and focusing on my recovery. And as this journey continues, your support remains an incredible blessing to me and my family. My story isn’t over. There are difficult days, unanswered questions, and decisions that weigh heavily on my heart. But there is also life, hope, and so much to be grateful for. I’m still here. I’m still fighting. And I still believe God is writing my story. One day at a time. Faith over fear. ❤️ With all my love and gratitude, Jamie
