Groceries and Essentials for a Fresh Start

<div>In late November of 2023, my partner Jordan Sauceda, who is only 22 years old, was diagnosed with B-Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, a blood cancer. Never in a million years would we have thought that this would happen to us. Nothing in life prepares you to hear that your loved one has cancer. Jordan has been an amazing young father to our four-year-old daughter Ava since day one. He is such a selfless, hardworking, humble, supportive and loving individual, who’ve I had the honor to be with since we were 16 and 17. It’s still a struggle for me accepting that this is happening to him, the love of my life. We trust God, however. We firmly believe this will be apart of Jordan’s testimony, that he will get through this and that we will grow old together!

<div>We have spent many weeks getting treatment away from home and our daughter Ava since his diagnosis. I’ve been with him every single day and night at the hospital for chemotherapy treatment, to remind him that he’s not alone. His fight is our fight. I’ve had to learn how to be a nurse when we are allowed to be home. We acknowledge we have a journey ahead of us. The goal for Jordan is to get a bone marrow transplant in the future. On top of our monthly expenses, medical bills and travel costs are mounting. We humbly ask for your help with these costs, but more than a donation, we ask for everyone’s prayers.

<div>When we started treatment in late November, right off the bat, the doctor told us that Jordan could be infertile after all of this was over. I was distraught. I cried countless of times. We had always said that we would give Ava at least one other sibling when the time was right, in a few years. It felt like another big hit to our family to hear these words come out of the doctor’s mouth. Little did we know that a week into Jordan’s treatment we would find out that we were already expecting baby #2 all along and most recently we found out that it’s a boy! This news has brought us, his family, and my family something to look forward to, it’s given us strength. It’s a blessing for sure and a reminder that if you want to make God laugh, tell him about your plans.

Support Jordan’s fight against cancer!

<div>On one of his first few unsupervised visits without his mom, this is how sweet baby Jio ( 1 y/o) came home. Jio’s mom, Yailene, received a call from his dad saying he fell off of a skate board and had a few injuries. After a FaceTime call, Yailene instantly knew it was deeper than that. He refused to take him to the hospital and begged her not to take him, stating the injuries were minor and he would be okay after a nap. Yailene rushed over to Jio and immediately took him to the ER where 10-15 nurses and doctors urgently attended to him. His injuries were so bad he was flown to Houston to receive the proper treatment necessary for his injuries. Upon arriving in Houston, Yailene was informed by investigators and medical professionals that Jio acquired 2nd and 3rd degree burns from what seems to be an incident involving a boiling liquid either being poured on his skin or being submerged in. Based on injuries, they are confident that foul play was involved and there was malicious intent.

She will be financially responsible for her stay, the helicopter ride, and other medical expenses while she sees her baby through this impossibly hard time. She is a single, young mother who is not prepared for such a burden, as she could have never expected such a tragedy to strike. Yailene is in Houston alone taking care of her baby to the best of her ability. Yailene is blessed to have her father and step-mother by her side, but a large majority of her family and support system do not live in Texas so she is coping with this the best she can. I am hoping we can relieve some of the financial burden from her as well as providing prayers and community to help her get through this

Her mother and father passed away 7 months apart this last year. <br />There are days they go without food, no money for clothing, education, medicine, or even basic necessities such as a fridge or table. <br />With your donations we are going to fix and fully furnish their home. <br />Build her her dream business (hot dog stand) in front of her home. <div>My mother, Sylvia Leonard, is a 48 year old woman from Los Angeles, California who began her battle with cancer in November of 2017. She has fought tirelessly to find the right treatments and give herself the best shot at a smooth recovery. Over the course of the last few months the cancer became more aggressive and requires an aggressive course of action. She is a wife and mother of 3 boys.
