Our dearest Jasmine Huerta

<div>It is with deep sadness that I am having to create this fundraiser for my dear sweet friend Desiraye. Unfortunately Desiraye passed away Sunday, September 12 and gained her angelic wings. Though many are grieving and devastated for her passing, I know Dessy is no longer in pain and suffering. While her mother Ira, Sister Destiney, and brother Devin are grieving , I wanted to help take off the weight of worrying about funeral arrangements cost. I can only imagine what they are feeling and going through right now. So I am asking friends, family, neighbors, just the community in general, if you have any funds that you are able to gift, it would be very much appreciated! Even if you don’t have the funds but have the desire to give and sending continued prayers , WE APPRECIATE IT ALL!!!! Once goal is met or at least close to the goal, Funeral arrangements will be set and shared to those who may want to attend sweet Desirayes services! Please keep the Gomez family in your thoughts and prayers.

About the family!<br />Kelly is a single mom of two boys, Jaxon (9 years old) and Hudson (18 months old).  She is a PE teacher and Head Softball Coach at Lake Highlands High School.  <br /><br />Hudson's Medical<br />Sunday, March 17,  Hudson was taken to Children's Plano with what we all thought was Dehydration due to Stomach Virus. He was quickly transferred by ambulance to Children's Dallas and within 15 minutes of us arriving, we were asked to leave the room and our baby went to Cardiac Arrest. He endured 40 minutes of CPR while trying to be placed on ECMO.  He was successfully placed on ECMO and diagnosed with Viral Myocarditis. Cultures came back that Wednesday and a strand of the MONO virus attacked his heart, which caused him to go into heart failure.  Prior to this Hudson was perfectly healthy 18 month old, who was at the ball park playing on March 16.  <br /><br />Hudi was making lots of good strides the first week, but Saturday, March 23 he developed Sepsis.  They felt it was under control and he passed all of his ECMO tests, so doctors decided to take him off ECMO on March 27.  The first 8 hours he did good, but then over night he began to go into organ failure due to sepsis and his heart not being strong enough to fight infection.  They quickly put him back on ECMO on March 28 and all his organ function has been back to normal.  Hudson is still fighting this infection, but Doctors are concerned his heart function is not returning to normal.  So the process for a Heart Transplant has been started and it seems that is the path we are headed.  Current cultures from sepsis are coming back clean 30 hours and counting, we need this to continue.  Next week he will be placed on a VAD hopefully and either his heart will improved or he will go on the wait list for a heart.  <br /><br />Our miracle baby made it out of the hospital late may on several heart medications.  At the beginning of September he was admitted after a doctors appointment showed his numbers and echo were not where they needed to be.  At this time they decided to place him on a Bi-lateral pacemaker.  His pacer has been having work at 100% due to developing pacemaker induced cardiomyopathy. Doctors now feel with his heart failure medication maxed out, that the next step is towards a heart transplant because sadly his heart didn't recover fully.  His heart failure number continue increase unfortunately.  <br /><br />Kelly has been denied coverage by Aetna for Dallas Children's and Aetna is insisting Kelly must move to Houston for Hudson to be placed on the heart transplant list.   Kelly is currently appealing the denied coverage now for Hudson to get his continued car at Dallas Children's.   We are also getting a number for out of network cost for heart transplant at Dallas Children's.  So financially this family is needing help to either - A. cover moving and living expenses in Houston or B. out of network cost for heart transplant. <br /><br />We appreciate any amount given as it will assist this family tremendously and please keep Hudson in your prayers.  This miracle baby is a fighter!!!!!! <br /><br />Thank you, <br /><br />Jayme Baker-Nelson<br />(Kelly's Sister, Jaxon and Hudson's Aunt)
