In 2024 my mom was diagnosed with a brain tumor, an acoustic schwannoma was the technical name they told us. Luckily it wasn't cancerous, but it was growing over the base of her spine and was reaching a size that they told her put her in danger of paralyzing her, so ignoring it wasn't an option and it was already causing some neurological problems to her and effecting the hearing in her left ear. She went through the surgery and they were able to remove most of it but a little piece was left that they have to keep monitoring, and it went well for the most part but she was left with some problems still. Because of this she also needs continued medical support. She put a lot of work into recovering and she still is, but she lost most of the hearing in her left ear, she has facial paralysis on the left side of her face and that also caused harm to the vision in her left eye, and all of this effects her balance as well. She's still working hard to recover but her doctors told her some things she won't recover because of nerve damage. Despite all of this she still wanted to recover enough to go back to her job at Walmart and return to her normal life as much as she could. Her doctors gave her a list of restrictions she had in what she could do back at work, and she tried her best to work with Walmart to try and get another position with them, but in the end they fired her. And with her losing her job at Walmart she's also losing her medical benefits. She's asking for any help people can give her while she tries to figure out the next steps in her life with disability and to continue receiving medical assistance. Ayuda para que Adelina pueda continuar su tratamiento El 31 de agosto de 2024, mi vida cambió por completo. Después de varios malestares, me diagnosticaron un tumor cerebral de 4.2 cm que estaba poniendo en riesgo mi movilidad y mi vida. El 23 de octubre me sometí a una cirugía que duró 24 horas. Gracias a esa operación estoy aquí hoy, pero quedé con secuelas permanentes: pérdida total de audición del lado izquierdo, parálisis facial, pérdida parcial de visión y problemas severos de equilibrio. Cuando intenté regresar a trabajar con las restricciones médicas necesarias, mi empleador no las aceptó y fui despedida. Con ello también perdí mi seguro médico. Hoy sigo en tratamiento y necesito ayuda urgente para poder pagar algunos meses de seguro médico mientras logro estabilizar mi situación. No pido más que la oportunidad de seguir recuperándome.
