<div>Dear Family &amp; Friends,
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>It is with a heavy heart that I share devastating news: <strong>Steven Pressfield and his partner, Diana Wilburn, have lost their home of 32 years in the recent Los Angeles fires.</strong> Their beloved home—a sanctuary of love and creativity—was destroyed, along with Steven’s writing space, where he crafted <em>The War of Art,</em> <em>Gates of Fire</em>, and countless "<em>Writing Wednesdays</em>" posts that have inspired so many.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>True to their nature, Steven and Diana were reluctant to ask for help, but after reminding them of the immense community they’ve touched, they agreed to let me extend this request on their behalf. Now, we have the opportunity to stand by our friends and help lighten the burden of the difficult road ahead.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The funds raised will help them secure temporary housing, replace essentials, and begin the difficult road to rebuilding. <strong>Though the task ahead is daunting, their spirit remains strong, as does their commitment to Steven’s writing and supporting their community.</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>For years, Steven’s words have helped us push past resistance and face life’s challenges. Now, we have the chance to offer them the same compassion and support they have given so generously to others.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Every contribution will help them rebuild their lives. Thank you for showing them the love, kindness, and encouragement they have shared with so many.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Important Note:</strong> All donations go directly to Steven Pressfield through GoFundMe’s secure platform.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Steven and Diana are profoundly grateful for the outpouring of love and support. If they haven’t been able to respond yet, please know how much your kindness has touched their hearts.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>With gratitude and love,
</div>
<div>Stephen Scott (close friend of Steven and Diana)

Outpouring of LOVE for Bridget & Stella

<div>Beautiful Denali has passed away. A freak accident I’d never even think possible. My heart is shattered and I’m so incredibly sad for this majestic and gentle soul who only had 2 1/2 yrs with us. Our sunshine herd is going to miss her forever. I’m so sorry Denali.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>I can’t legally bury her here which breaks my heart even more. Cremation is the only choice so she has peace at home w us. It’s $410 for Trails End to come out to pick her up and $1300 for cremation so she can come back home to us. If anyone wants to help in this soul crushing final goodbye…. Life is unfair and so friggin sad . We are letting Ireland, lil bob and RJ say goodbye now.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>You are forever my girl Denali. I’ve loved you since the day I saw your auction photo as a 6 month old orphan.     She was perfect. I miss her so much, this is just not fair.  Beautiful, beautiful girl…a piece of my heart is gone w her.
</div>

Denali we will love you forever

<div>TL;DR
</div>
<div>Boogers, world’s cutest dog, has a gallbladder infection and an infected tooth, and needs to raise $3000.00 to get the treatment she needs.
</div>
<div>Hi, I’m Boogers!
</div>
<div>I’m turning 13 on Wednesday, I like Froot Loops, walks in my little pink stroller, and people doing what I tell ‘em to! I'm the sneezinest gal there ever was, hence my name. I was born in Bastrop, Texas (during the 2011 fire), with wonky eyes and a leg that doesn’t work, but it takes more than that to keep a lady down! I’ve lived with my dad for four years now, and I love him to bits. Lately though, when we came back from the Big Mean Puppy Eaters (he calls ‘em the “vet” but I know what they are), he’s been acting real weird and nervous. He’s been giving me extra treats and snuggles though, so no complaints. My life is pretty great, because everybody wuvs me!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Hi, y’all,
</div>
<div>Unfortunately, Boogers recently started losing weight, so I took her to the vet out of caution, and I’m glad I did. Her bloodwork came back with alarming results for her liver and gallbladder. I got her ultrasound done on Monday, and it turns out she likely has a gallbladder infection. Her gallbladder is full of cholesterol and her bile ducts are inflamed. She’s going to need antibiotics and several more vet visits, which will cost around $400. The initial bloodwork cost $307.14, and the ultrasound to diagnose her cost $934.85. On top of that, once she’s recovered, she needs surgery to remove her last tooth, which will cost around $1000.00.
</div>
<div>I took over for her vet care in January 2020, and got her fixed, microchipped, caught up on her shots, several surgeries to remove her infected teeth, and more; all in all I’ve spent over $7,000 on her vet bills alone over the last few years. It hasn’t always been easy, far from it, but I knew the responsibility I was taking on to have a senior dog, and I’ve never had to turn to my community for support like this before. But this comes to me newly unemployed (the company went under), and while I’m actively seeking work, I simply don’t have the money saved up to afford what she needs on my own.
</div>
<div>Boogers means everything to me, anyone who knows me knows that I’m the Guy With The Cute Dog. She’s gotten me through some tough times, and I have ALWAYS prioritized her care over everything else, even to my own detriment. People who know me also know that I never ask for money, it’s just not my way. This time, I’m prioritizing her needs over my pride, and asking for help.
</div>
<div>My goal is to raise $3,000.00 which will cover the cost of her bloodwork, ultrasound, medications, follow-up visits, and dental surgery.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Any additional money raised will go towards her future care as she continues to be the silly little angel we all know and love for many years to come. I promise not to let her blow it all on Froot Loops.
</div>
<div>Thank you,
</div>
<div>Brandon

Help Boogers Feel Better!

<div>Dear friends,
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As many of you know my life has taken a very sudden turn due to a serious, life-threatening health condition. Much of what used to fill my days has evaporated nearly overnight, including almost all of my work and income, as healing has become a full-time job.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>My condition requires immediate and intensive treatment if I am going to live and live well. It's likely to be a 2-year journey to health in the best circumstances.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Despite having insurance, the medical bills are huge and keep coming. I am just at the very start of treatment and have already spent close to $4000 in co-pays, mainly on diagnostics.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I humbly ask for your support.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If I have touched your life in some way and you are able, please give as generously as you can, so that I can have the health care I need to give my body the best chance to heal. It truly does take a village, and I must reach out to all my beautiful villages now for help. This is profoundly humbling and not easy. But I can't do this without you.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Please see me as vibrantly healthy and well in body and mind. Please also see me free and at peace within. My prayer request is: <em>If it be in the highest good of all, may Maxima's body-mind be restored to vibrant health and wellness and may she be deeply guided and supported on her healing journey. </em>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you so much for your support!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>With love and gratitude,
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Maxima
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Update at 8 months into the journey &amp; other ways to give:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I'm raising my goal because I have used almost all of the funds previously raised. And the journey continues!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I am only able to work a tiny bit, so I have almost no income (currently about $1000 from Patreon and my Brilliant Playmates community--see below), and am doing a ton of treatments that add up currently to about $2000/month.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I need to raise funds to carry me through the end of this year to cover my monthly living expenses (about another $2000 a month) and health care expenses. Please give as generously as you can do so joyfully. There are several ways to support me financially:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>1. Give here on the GoFundMe site. (Please note that GoFundMe has a default option to give them 15% to cover their costs. You can just move that slider to zero so I receive your whole donation or to wherever you like.)
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>2. Mail me a check if you prefer not to make payments online. This also saves the 3% credit card fee from being deducted by the bank. You can mail checks c/o Dr. Don Williams (my husband), 590 Searls Ave #13, Nevada City, CA 95959.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>3. Become a patron of mine on Patreon. This is a way to provide steady monthly support in any amount and receive wonderful things in return: <a href="https://www.patreon.com/maximakahn" target="_blank" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://www.patreon.com/maximakahn</a>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>4. If you are a creative soul, engaged with making art of any kind and you would like to take part in a community of other artists, consider joining my membership community: <a href="https://maximakahn.com/playmates/" target="_blank" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://maximakahn.com/playmates/</a>

Help Max's Beautiful Life

<div><br />
</div>
<div>I have dreamed of writing and publishing children's books for a long time, and I finally decided to do it! I teamed up with a very talented artist named Josh Strickland, who helped me bring my dream to life. The process was so fun, and I'd love to keep creating books forever, but I'll need your help! If I can get close to making the money back that it costs to illustrate and publish this book, I can keep doing it. I have so many more stories in various stages of development, and I'd love to entertain and educate young readers and their families for years to come!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Each $20 donation will get you a first-edition copy of Charlie the Champion. Please message me or leave a note saying where you'd like me to send your book.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Here's a bit about what to expect from the book:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Charlie is a confident and kind girl who tries not to let a bully bring her down from cloud nine! In this book, your child can learn some strategies for dealing with a bully in their own life, that you never know what others are going through in their own lives, and see the value of being kind to others. Using those skills, they can be champions too!

Pre-Order My First Children's Book!

<div>In the early hours of January 17, 2023, Oak Canyon Equestrian in Newhall, California, suffered every horse owner’s worst nightmare: an electrical fire sparked in the barn where the horses were stabled and quickly spread as 20-foot flames ravaged the building. Thanks to the fast action of neighbors who alerted the Adamson family of the crisis, and firefighters who put out the fire, the majority of the horses were rescued and gathered safely in the arena. However, two beloved horses tragically lost their lives in the blaze, and three others were badly burned and need ongoing medical treatment.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Our hearts are broken for those lost. Malone, a Palomino Quarter Horse, was a World Series roping champion, a heel horse and an invaluable teammate to his owner, Daniel Lopez. More importantly than his huge competitive achievements, “Little Melons” was affectionately known as the “good horse” with a heart of gold and the fluffiest ears who taught so many young riders how to rope. Nothing will ever bring Malone and Rocky back and their memories will always live on, but we hope to be able to relieve the financial burden on their owners somewhat in this time of mourning. Rocky was a beautiful black thoroughbred who left behind his best friend, Tykes, and owners John and Stephanie Blair.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Tack rooms and feed rooms full of expensive equipment, essential supplies, and personal belongings were also lost in the fire. Some of the tack that was burned belonged to boarders who have ridden at Oak Canyon for decades, while other items lost were owned by youth riders who had paid for their first tack by tirelessly working weekend jobs or saving up birthday money. In addition, a large section of the barn’s structure was destroyed and needs to be rebuilt to ensure that it is safe for the remaining horses to live in.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Oak Canyon is a family business and a community barn. Many of the current adult riders discovered the joy of horses at the barn’s annual summer camp, and now they get to share that passion with their own kids when they attend camp or take lessons. Unlike some affluent equestrian centers, Oak Canyon has been built from the ground up by dedicated horsemen, women and children who put the welfare of their horses before anything else. They sacrifice so many other luxuries in life to look after their horses on the hottest summer days or the rainiest winter nights. In return, the horses are far more than just animals or pets: they’re family members, best friends, partners, athletes and four-hooved therapists, who are always there when they need them.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This is a barn family and a community stricken by the most unimaginable tragedy that now needs to rebuild, recover and remember those who were lost. We appreciate any help that you can give us so that Oak Canyon can continue to be a welcoming place where riders of any age and ability can fulfill their equestrian dreams, and a safe home for the horses that we all love and nurture.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>All donations given will go towards repairing the damage done to the barn’s structure; paying vet bills for the horses injured; buying new tack and stable supplies; and doing what we can to fill the holes left in the Blairs’ and Daniel’s hearts by the loss of Rocky and Malone to honor those magnificent horses.

Oak Canyon Equestrian Community Fire Recovery

<p>Like the rest of you, I am heartbroken about the nightmare unfolding in Afghanistan. But the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it, so I thought maybe we could take up a collection and send it to Doctors Without Borders. Not knowing what else on earth we can do for the time being, besides witness, prayer and love, let’s see if we can get the people some food and water, antibiotics, and caring humans to step in. You can send donations directly to donate.doctorswithoutborders.org or donate here. Love, Annie
