<div>Trapped in the hospital, Jihan faced immense challenges, delivering Munir under extremely difficult circumstances, without Bassam by her side due to miscommunication and the chaos surrounding them. Munir was eventually taken out of the hospital through a safe corridor.

<div>Before the occupation turned everything into ashes, before the 7th of October, I sold a truck consisting of two vehicles and a private land in order to establish the project of a lifetime that will guarantee the rest of my life, secure the lives of my children, and provide them with a decent life. It cost me more than $150,000, which is a huge refrigerator to store vegetables. I planted 10,000 square meters of land with potatoes, which the occupation bulldozed and destroyed the entire crop during the war.

I spent more time outside the home than the time I spent with my family. During the planting seasons, I would also be absent for days in order to guard the crop. All this effort resulted in the loss of my retina. I underwent a retinal implant surgery for $2000, and another operation must be performed to complete the previous operation, otherwise I will lose my eye. The occupation destroyed the entire project and burned the house with all the floors. We also had a small room containing electrical equipment for my son, who works in electricity.

<div>‏Now we live in oppressive conditions, with no potable water, tents that do not protect humans from the cold, and a difficult living situation that is not suitable for animals. There is also my daughter-in-law with two children: Majid (5) and Aser (&lt;1). The cost of getting everyone out is $50,000. I want them to arrive in Turkey to start a new life, but that costs a lot and they need to reach a country that grants residency other than Egypt, because Egypt does not give residency. On this residence a visa is issued Turkey and the country they can go to is Libya And they need to cover their expenses in Egypt from clothes, house, food and the papers they need to complete all the procedures and cover the costs of airport reservations.

<strong>Help Jeremy Fight ALS</strong> <br /><br />Thank you for taking the time to read about this fundraiser. <br /><br />If you know Jeremy Stork, you know he is a steadfast friend to many – the sort of giving, kind person you can’t say a negative thing about. Unfortunately, Jeremy was recently diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), a motor neuron disease also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. ALS causes the death of neurons that control voluntary muscle movement throughout the body. <br /><br />There are no conventional medical options for Jeremy, but promising alternative options that have helped many to halt and even reverse the progression of this disease do exist. However, these options are not covered by insurance and many are not readily available.<br /><br />ALS is a devastating disease and it moves quickly. Jeremy’s disease has progressed in the past couple of months and he experiences difficulty with everyday functions requiring dexterity and mobility. But Jeremy is also brave and a fighter and is determined to face this challenge head on.<br /><br /><strong>The goal of this campaign is to support Jeremy and his partner of nearly 25 years, Tara Sheehan, by helping to cover the out-of-pocket costs of doctor’s appointments, treatments, travel expenses, medications and supplements, and home modifications needed to accommodate Jeremy’s loss of muscle movement.</strong> <br /><br />Please consider contributing in any way you can, no matter the amount. Now that Amoeba San Francisco and Amoeba Berkeley are open again, we are ending the campaign.</strong><br /><br /><br /><br />A Brief History of Amoeba Music <br /><br />30 years ago, Amoeba Music founders Dave Prinz and Marc Weinstein had a crazy idea. Let’s open up an independent record store, beholden to no corporate interests, that could become a gathering place for the musical community. A record store that would have an affordable mix of new and used product, that could serve as a trading post where people could bring in any unwanted music or movies for cash or trade.<br /><br />So we rented a space on Telegraph Avenue in Berkeley that had been shuttered for years. And we spent the summer of 1990 going to flea markets, garage sales and running a tiny classified in the SF Chronicle that netted us some truly amazing collections. And we put that store together. Piece by piece.<br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/47513602_1587357685510971_r.jpeg" alt="47513602_1587357685510971_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /><br />Many of our friends thought we were crazy too. We were going up against some very formidable stores - Tower Berkeley and Leopold’s Records. Both were over five times as large as us - how could we compete? But we believed. And we begged and borrowed and put up everything we had in the world, all in, to make this work.<br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/47513602_1587358438494053_r.jpeg" alt="47513602_1587358438494053_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /><br />The night before we were to open, the Berkeley Inn across the street from us caught fire. We spent that night up on our roof with garden hoses putting out ember after ember wafting over from the fire. We were there that night until 4am, then went home to catch a few hours sleep before our Grand Opening.<br /><br />When we arrived back the next morning, wiped out and bleary-eyed, we saw something we never expected. We saw something that to this day still gives us chills. <br /><br />

And our hearts sang. Through your support we have been able to contribute to thousands of charitable causes over the years.  Including raising over $600,000 for Hurricane Katrina rebuilding; and working with the Rainforest Action Network to preserve and protect many millions of acres of Rainforest. <div>In the wake of the devastating bushfires that tore through the Port Macquarie region, the Port Macquarie Koala Hospital was overwhelmed by the kindness and support of people from across Australia and around the world.

<div>During those critical weeks, our team — alongside NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service — worked tirelessly to search for and rescue koalas from fire-affected areas. Many were found injured, dehydrated and suffering from burns.

<div>Each koala brought into care received intensive treatment — rehydration, burn care, and ongoing medical support — with dressings changed regularly as they began their recovery.
</div>

</div>
<div>What began as an emergency response quickly grew into something much bigger.

Adrian Hickman's long fight against cancer was inspirational to all who knew him.  Adrian passed away on June 20, 2019, peacefully and surrounded by an abundance of love.  <br /><br />His kind and gentle spirit touched the hearts of all who knew him or knew of him. Adrian was one of the most genuine, caring, selfless and kindest person to walk this earth.  His extraordinary incredible heart, bravery, positive outlook and enthusiasm for life was simply awe inspiring.  He loved his family and friends deeply.  He was truly loved back in return.  A hero to many, he faced each day's challenges with dignity and grace, never complaining of his struggles.  He always put others before himself.  <br /><br />Adrian was passionate about things that were dear to his heart... his family, his friends, his career, his volunteer work with various organizations, and his love of music...especially the local Philly music scene.  He devoted his life to his family - caring for sick parents and his special needs brother, Tommy.  <br /><br />His sister, Juliana, has tirelessly spent each day by Adrian's side as his greatest supporter, medical advocate and as his loving sister.  Julie is so much like her brother, Adrian.  It is difficult for her and her family to ask for any kind of help.  As you can imagine, the family is grieving and the last thing they should have to worry about are finances needed to give Adrian the proper send-off he deserves, as well as cover any remaining medical expenses he may have.<br /><br />With the family's blessing, we create this opportunity to help them in their time of need.  They would be extremely grateful for the love and support.  <br /><br />The funds donated will go directly to Juliana's bank account. <br /><br />Thank you.

Adrian Hickman's Funeral Expenses

In late October our best friend and bandmate Michael Leavy was diagnosed with colon cancer. He was admitted to the hospital on November 29th for 2 surgeries to remove the tumor, which were successful and from which he is still recovering. This coming week he begins a 6-month course of treatment consisting of chemotherapy and radiation to kill off the remaining cancer cells that are left in his body. It will be a difficult time for Mike but he is going to spend every waking moment doing whatever he can to beat this cancer.<br /><br />Your generous support will help defray the huge financial burden the treatment is placing on Mike and his family. Mike spent fourteen days in the hospital as an inpatient for his surgeries and recovery, battling complications and infection. He has also had numerous doctor and hospital visits for various diagnostic testing and procedures. The cost of this treatment is staggering but your support can truly help Mike defeat this cancer and offset the financial hardship he is facing.<br /><br />Mike has selflessly shared himself and his art with so many of us over the years and he has so much more to share with the world. A Major Victory

<p>Hi. My name is Eric. And I'm about to put my life on display for all of you to see...........<br /><br /></p>
<p>After successfully treating and taking care of skin cancer over the last 11 months, I was just recently diagnosed with esophageal cancer 4 weeks ago. Well, to be clear, they say it's "possible proximal esophageal ca". Since the initial biopsy, I've had one more biopsy plus a PetScan and they all show the irregular/cancerous cells in the area of the throat but it (thankfully) has not spread further then that at this time. They also still can't give me an definitive answer on it though (grrr) and now we are going for a second opinion with a specialist in Philadelphia next week. No matter what, it IS there, and it's really just the degree at which it is there that we are trying to determine at this point IMO. In the 4 weeks since, I have done an amazing amount of learning, listening, reading, researching, watching videos and talking to people about many things like cures, treatments, diets, etc. The hostpital/doctor route is always the same 3 things, which are Chemotherepy, Radiation and Surgery. They unfortunatly offer zero advice when it comes to nutrition, holistic healing or plant medicine or any other alternative treatments. So, at least I know where they stand. I also know what Chemotherapy, Radiation and Surgery can do to my body after seeing it both first hand with loved ones in the past and also from all the research I have done in the last month or so. It destroys you, in the hopes of destroying the cancer as well. Burn it, Posion It, Cut the lump or bump....that's all they say.<br /><br /></p>
<p>I say different.......<br /><br /></p>
<p>At this time, WHILE there is still time, I am choosing to try a few other things first,  before doing those things they suggest. I'd much rather go along the "healing route" then the destruction route, and I have a pretty solid plan I think to follow. Lucky for me I have met the most amazing people in the last 3-4 weeks and they are all getting behind me and teaching me and showing me alternate ways to travel this road I am now on.  And that brings me here, to the GoFundMe Campaign we are starting now, and how I need your help if I am going to continue and cure my own cancer.  Yes, cure. Crazy right? Well, we'll find out won't we. It's time to walk to walk and see what happens. And I am extreamly confident that this will work, no doubt in my mind actually. Let me tell you about a few things.......<br /><br /></p>
<p>Once we realized that my options were limited with the doctors, we started looking elsewhere and immediatley people starting coming to me, either directly or through friends, all with viable solutions for me to consider. It was amazing actually, like I was a magnet and the people and info I needed were just drawn to me and I recieved it all. So, since then, we have designed a 10 point treatment plan, and immeditaley enacted it. It involved a complete diet change, cutting all sugars out, increasing water levels, testing the water to ensure PH levels were 7.5 or higher, eating mainly veggies and greens, minor fish and chicken and eggs. Gearing it toward boosting the immune system, lowering acid intake and making my body more alkaline. Then I started juicing on a daily basis, making all kinds of carrot and celery and ginger juices that immeditaly started making me feel better in all ways. Then I was lucky enough to be able to have the means to start treatments with other people in the forms of Reiki, Frequency and Sound healing (which I now do daily and weekly). That then, led me to learning all about Essential Oils and specifically how Frankincense and Thieves are know to be a direct contributor to curing cancer. Started that immediately as well. And now, we are at the most important point in the plan (IMO), which is the Rick Simpson's Oil treatment. This is hands down, the one thing that excites me the most. This has proven, time and time and time again, that it can CURE cancer. Over and over and over again, I have read countless success stories, doctors reports, medical reviews, saw first hand how it helps children and seizures and all other aliments as well, but the most mind blowing was how it simply is a cure. A flat out cure. And there comes a time where you have to just find out for yourself if somethign is true and that time for me, is right now. Which brings me again, to the reason for why I decided to do this. Due to legalities, this life saving medicine is illegal where I live, and I cannot purchase it legally, nor can I grow the simple plant that it comes from and make it myself, again, because it's illegal and I would goto jail. But, lucky or, ironically, for me, it IS legal in a few states and does not require any medical card to secure it, only the funds to purchase it in person. Now, the 60g treatment plan does not come cheap, even when it IS legal, and once you factor in the travel costs and time away from work involved to go get the oil,  you see how this quickly adds up and gets out of hand. Which is why I could use some help :) <br /><br /></p>
<p>Here's the thing, I had the most impossible time getting my mind around doing this campaign. I mean, Im straight out asking for help in a monetary way from people I know or may not know yet and I feel so insecure doing it.  Like, who am I to ask this??  And I feel like I should offer something in return and I don't see how I can ever repay this. But, I still need help, simple as that. So I have to try. This is my life here we are talking about, right? So, in return for the help I am hoping to receive, I am agreeing to put it all out there for all to see. My own personal Truman Show. To be as transparent as I possibly can with the treatment, every step of the way, for as long as I am walking this path. My hope would be that I may inspire someone to look outside the box if ever they are in the same situation. Maybe people can learn things from the journy I now walk, and that in turn will help them in theirs. I'll be the guniea pig, so to speak, and I will do it all and prove to you that it works. My goal is my cure. My own race, and I'm already running it....<br /><br /></p>
<p>So, we did the calculations for the oil treatment, travel costs, medical bills that have already started piling up, lost time at work, other expenses, etc, and came up with the figure for the goal above. We may be over or under a little bit, but honestly, I have no way of telling truly. It's scary actually, but I have no choice now. This is my road, and away we go on it. The plan is to start this campaign now in hopes of getting the funds quickly together to plan the trip to Colorado and go out there in the next 2-3 weeks and start the treatment. <br /><br /></p>
<p>And to be clear, I still have Chemotherepy, Radiation and Surgery on the list as 'possible' treatments, but they are #8-9-10 on the 10 point list, and I'm hoping to not need them at all by the time I am done the previous treatments. But, western medicine has a place, the doctors have some knowledge and their machines are needed to see things inside me so I am in no way being negligent about my health here. I just want a bigger and more in depth treatment plan then they know how to give me. And I won't act out of fear any more, only knowledge. I could go into how pissed off it makes me knowing a cure is available, and it's legal only IF you buy it from the people who MAKE it illegal to begin with. I could go into the disgusting tale of patent medicine and how it made a successful effort to eliminate all homeopathic schools that taught muliple healing techniques including plant medicine so that only patent medicine would be taught and big pharmacy's role would forever be locked into our medical field. There is so much negative I could attach to this story, but I won't do that. Simply because I want to focus all my energy on the positive, it's my thing, and I'm good at it. By staying positive, keeping a sense of humor, and finding the lighter side in all things, I believe I can project a very awesome reality for myself, even in the face of all this danger to my health.<br /><br /></p>
<p>So, that's where I am at right now. I will be posting updates frequently with all kinds of information about the treatments I am currently doing and how well they are working for me to date, as well as weekly if not bi-weekly updates as we go with total transparency on everything as we go as well. Due to legalities, I may need to change names or things like that, but I will be as open and honest as I possibly can be, and more then happy to talk to anyone privately about what we are doing, when I can. My goal here is two fold, to cure my own cancer, and also to inspire and help others with ways to cure themselves through my example or direct help. A total Pay It Forward on this, I promise :)<br /><br /></p>

My own Race for the Cure

Reji B. of Reji B. Photography is a 28 year old published freelance lifestyle, music, and fashion photographer based out of South Jersey. He is always on the move and working late hours perfecting his craft and providing his clients with amazing photos. Two weeks ago, he started feeling ill, coming down with a fever but that didn’t stop him from working and running around.<br /><br />On Wednesday, December 9th, 2015, Reji felt his chest tightening up on him and he was having trouble breathing. His mother took him to the Urgent Care to get him seen by a doctor. During that visit, the doctors noticed that Reji was not just having trouble breathing; he was suffering from severe pneumonia. His lungs were filling up with fluid fast. An ambulance was called and Reji was rushed to Virtua Memorial Hospital in Mt. Holly, NJ, where he was admitted and worked on. The doctors and staff flooded his body with medication and breathing tubes. He could no longer breathe on his own.  Reji was placed in a medically induced coma. His condition was critical.<br /><br />The medications were not working as well as they had hoped they would. It was then decided that Reji needed to undergo emergency surgery to remove the fluid and dead tissue from his lungs. A surgeon was brought in from University of Pennsylvania Hospital to perform his surgery. The surgery was successful but Reji’s condition remained critical. After little time in recovery, Reji was flown to University of Pennsylvania Hospital and placed in ICU. He has been in ICU since Friday, December 11th, 2015.<br /><br />On Sunday, December 13th, 2015, the doctors attempted to allow Reji to breathe on his own. He could not. He is still on a ventilator. He has a feeding tube. He is still in and out of consciousness. However, he is aware of what’s happening to him and knows it is extremely serious. As of Wednesday, December 16th, 2015, Reji started coughing up blood. He now has internal bleeding and the cause of it is unknown at this time. The doctors have given Reji a 50/50 chance of survival.<br /><br />Reji is a fighter. He loves life and he is making an incredible name for himself in the photography world. With his medical stay and medical bills mounting up, his family and friends are asking for your help. We are asking for prayers and donations to help with Reji’s medical expenses and recovery. Please give anything that you can give. It is greatly appreciated and to our future donors, may many blessings come your way.<br /><br />Reji is my family and I love him dearly. I know it is going to be a long road to recovery. I am just trying to help in any way possible. His brother's birthday is next week and he is also getting married in March. Reji is his best man and the only person standing beside him on his wedding day. We need Reji to fight, to pull through this and to survive.
