My name is Robert, and I'm reaching out because I've run out of options for financial help. I've tried over and over again to get benefits and grants, but nothing has worked out. It feels like the government isn't able to help people in my situation, so now I'm turning to the kindness of others. I know there are people with big hearts out there, and I hope that someone will be able to help me, just as I've always tried to help others in their times of need. My financial struggles have affected my life dramatically. I lost the RV I was buying, and now my only vehicle is in bad shape—it smokes badly and the air conditioner and heater barely work. Since I had a stroke in 2012, the heat has become dangerous for me, and I'm worried about having another heat stroke. I'm also facing the possibility of losing my medical insurance, which I rely on for medications and basic care. On top of that, I recently found out I owe taxes I didn't know about, and I have no idea how to handle them. All of this has left me without stable housing and very few options, and it's taken a real toll on me. Despite everything, I keep trying and believing that somehow things will get better.
