Rod has always been the kind of man who shows up. As a husband and father of four adult children, he spent his life working hard and doing whatever it took to provide for his family. Long hours, sacrifices, and a lifetime of putting others first, that’s simply who Rod is. Today, Rod is fighting a battle he never expected. He is currently on the kidney transplant waiting list and undergoes dialysis three days a week just to stay alive while waiting for a transplant. Dialysis is incredibly hard on his body, leaving him exhausted and weak. Because of his illness and the toll these treatments take on him, Rod can no longer work the way he once did, and the loss of his income has created a very difficult situation for our family. Right now we are asking for help during this incredibly challenging time. We are also praying for a living kidney donor. If anyone feels called to step forward and be tested, it could truly save Rod’s life. Unfortunately, I cannot donate because I am a transplant patient myself, and our children are not good candidates due to the risk of hereditary kidney disease from my side of the family. That makes finding a donor even more important for us. Even through all of this, Rod still worries more about everyone else than himself. He’s the kind of person who would help anyone in need without thinking twice. Now we are asking for that same kindness to come back to him. If you are able to give, share, or simply keep Rod in your prayers, it means more than words can express.
