On Tuesday, July 26th, The Stone family was tragically involved in a car accident near Williams, AZ. Brian, Alison, Oliver and Alex had just attended a family reunion in Colorado and were traveling back home to Laguna Niguel when the accident occurred. Sadly Brian, Alison and Oliver succumbed to their injuries . 6 year old Alexander (Alex) survived with major injuries.

This GOFUNDME was created on behalf of and with the permission of The Mason Family. We want to help the family and Alex during this difficult time and all money raised will go directly towards funeral expenses, and Alex’s ongoing care and medical expenses.

The Stone Family was loved so much by family, friends, and their local Church Congregation. Thank you again for your generous support of The Stone Family.
Any continued fundraising money will go towards the personal protection and defense against persecution of abortion providers in Indiana and across the country who continue to take care of patients at great personal and professional risk. We need them to continue to provide safe, compassionate abortion care, but we must continue to support them so that they can do the great work they are needed for. We appreciate any support you can give and will keep you updated on any needs that arise.

ORIGINAL MESSAGE - JULY 15, 2023

On May 25, 2023, Attorney General Todd Rokita brought five charges against Dr. Caitlin Bernard before the Indiana Medical Licensing Board. After hearing fifteen hours of witness testimony and argument, the Board exonerated Dr. Bernard on the most serious and baseless charges – alleged failure to report child abuse and being “unfit” to practice medicine – but imposed a letter of reprimand and fines based on alleged privacy violations.

We are Ob/Gyn providers & abortion providers from across the country who want to thank our colleague, Dr. Caitlin Bernard, for doing a courageous thing and helping provide compassionate healthcare to a child in her time of need. Many of us have experienced this in our line of work, and the ability to rise to the call despite tragedy like this is truly commendable.

As a result of her doing her job, she has come under intense scrutiny and needs urgent assistance, as well as security for her family.

We are starting this GoFundMe to help her pay for these expenses and ask for your help in supporting her.

"My heart breaks for all survivors of sexual assault and abuse. I am so sad that our country is failing them when they need us most. Doctors must be able to give people the medical care they need, when and where they need it." - Dr. Caitlin Bernard

The friends of the Roberts family have created this fundraiser. Keely Roberts and her 8-year-old son, Cooper, were significantly impacted by the tragic events of the Fourth of July parade in Highland Park, Illinois. Cooper’s brother Luke was also present, witnessed both of those injuries, and suffered emotional trauma that day. Cooper’s spinal cord was severed, and he is paralyzed from the waist down. After undergoing many surgeries, suffering complications, and spending weeks in the hospital and rehabilitation, he is now home where he continues to work with doctors, nurses, and rehabilitation experts on his healing and progress. Cooper continues to fight as hard as he can. We know the family’s medical bills will be significant, as will the treatments, therapy, and all of the equipment, devices, and needs in their home. Please continue to keep the Roberts family in your thoughts and prayers. Any help you can provide is deeply appreciated.

I have been a friend of Frets for over 50 years who, along with a group of other friends, have taken on helping him though this long rehabilitation effort, and ensure that he has adequate funds to do so. Frets had surgery in early October to correct a GI issue; unfortunately, a series of events led to him being put on a ventilator for an extended period of time as well as other complications. He has needed skilled nursing care to assist him in becoming as independent as possible, but now will be moved to assisted living for an undetermined amount of time. He would like to return to his apartment and live as independently as possible, but will need some time to accomplish this goal. Once he gets to his apartment, he will be needing to pay for part-time care givers as well.
He is a life-long musician and has recently been involved with numerous ukulele groups around the US, performing and teaching. He was also an accomplished guitar player and member of two regionally popular bluegrass groups in the 1970's. He was diagnosed with MS some years ago which impacted his guitar playing, but, forever resourceful, became accomplished on the uke.
Funds raised will go directly to Frets for his use in paying bills.
Thank you for considering this worthwhile effort!

Help Frets Halligan With Rehab Expenses

THANKS TO OVERWHELMING SUPPORT, WE HAVE STOPPED ACCEPTING DONATION.
Many of our friends have asked how they could help, several suggested a gofundme account...

After 20 days in local hospital with pancreatitis, two episodes of atrial fibrillation, and progression of illness to pancreatic necrosis, Brian was sent to The Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. The local hospital had decided his health issues have become too complex for them to handle.

The Mayo Clinic determined that two surgeries were needed to place a permanent interior drain from the dead portion of the pancreas into his stomach. Thus far five external drains have been put in place to draw out fluids that are collecting around several internal organs.

Complications have included multiple occurrences of afib, where the heart goes out of rhythm; inability to move beyond IV feeding or tube feeding; inability to remain off of oxygen; and findings of several serious bacteria.

As of October 31 Brian has been hospitalized for 40 days, and we have been in Jacksonville at The Mayo Clinic for 21 days. We may be required to remain in Jacksonville for weeks or be transferred to an acute care specialty hospital.

During this time his partner Doug has been by his side from morning to night each day. This has meant cancelling of catering jobs resulting in no income from his business. COVID and the closing of the three mile bridge had already greatly impacted earnings.

Once discharged from The Mayo Clinic an lengthy stay at a rehab or acute care hospital is very likely. There has been speculation that tube feeding may need to continue once Brian is home. Both of these will require services most likely not covered by his insurance.

Doug's travel and lodging costs, and lost income, arising from his desire to remain by Brian's side during this extended hospitalization. The accumulation of expenses to be in Jacksonville, lost catering income, and anticipated medical costs not covered by Brian's insurance, are expected to be substantial. Money raised will help offset these.

Any unused funds will be donated to charities.

THANK YOU!

Travel, lodging, medical support for Brian & Doug

My name is Rick Gutierrez. I live in Fort Worth, Texas and I am creating a gofundme campaign for a couple of great guys who really need your help.

Roy and Christopher are a recently married couple. They are two of the most awesome people on this planet. They are friends of my family and deserve a great Christmas. Here is why

They came home on 12/19 to find their apartment flooded and much of their belongings completely destroyed. Turns out a copper pipe had burst in the apartment, flooding it and causing all of the damage. Maintenance for the apartment complex were well aware of the situation and did nothing to fix it.

The funds raised will be to help these guys replace their belongings, find a new place to live, and potentially any lawyer fees that may be needed to resolve the issue with the apartment complex. These two guys are like family to me and they really need some kindness this season.
Any and all help provided will be most appreciated.

Roy and Christopher's Flood Relief

[Updated] Running total of billed costs so far: $7,426

There are a number of very good and not so good reasons I don't have medical insurance. I won't bore you with most of them. The one I think is most pertinent is that I live in Texas and governors Rick Perry and Greg Abbot decided my not having insurance was less important than ensuring a system in which a hated political rival had the least success possible.

I'm about to go to the hospital with a seeping wound in my left pubic region. It is likely I will be sent home with with a prescription for oral antibiotics and an ER bill I can't pay.

You might be wondering why I put such a high goal on this campaign. This has happened to me before. That time I took the antibiotics as prescribed and came back to be reevaluated three days later. At which point I was admitted to the hospital for over a month, required surgery and had an expensive wound vac on my leg for another two months.

If the oral antibiotics work, I will lower the goal. I want to be ready if they don't. Regardless, all donations in excess of my own medical bills, which I will share as they come in, I will forward on to others in my situation.

Please consider helping me out.

EDIT: Some people have expressed an interest in contributing by check rather than electronically. If you or someone you share this campaign with wishes to cut a paper check, please send it to:
Jonathan Bell
PO Box 670808
Dallas, TX 75367

I'm going to the hospital

Hi everyone as you may already know I have been dealing with a little stress and life altering event. Which unfortunately We were not prepared for. I had lost my job 1 week before all of this and have been unable to get another job. I'm afraid the bills and other things are going to go over my head. I'm asking for whatever you guys can help me out from drowning. I'm the worse in asking for any help and I figured this was the best way. Slightly embarrassed but I felt I needed to drop my pride this time.

Help Me Take Care Of Things

My name is Trevor and my pug Diesel just started having seizures recently and he can barely walk. The vet isn't sure what is going on. They think it could be encephalitis/meningitis or possibly cancer. If his seizures get worse today, then he will need to stay over night with the vet and get IV meds until his anti-seizure meds start working (hopefully). If all of this fails, then he will need a MRI. I have had him since he was 5 weeks old and he is now 6. He is my everything. This couldn't happen at a worse time. I need to drive back to TN from Denver Monday the 10th to start my 3rd year rotations for medical school. He has to be stable before I can do that. I can't afford this on my own and we would both be very appreciative. Any money that I have left over will go to animal charities. Thank you

Diesel Vet Help

Hey everyone,

Brandon has been a supporter of our podcast, Chronicles of the Nerds, for years. He's the kind of guy that would make it to our live chat box evey day, come to any event we held, and would hunt us down for a hug at every convention. The very least we could do is try to be there for him in his time of need.

Brandon recently became very ill and has been in and out of the hospital for the last month. He'll now be undergoing surgery to literally have parts of his body taken out. Just the amount of medical debt he'll be stacking up, plus the amount of work he'll be missing (has missed), is just going to be too much in this day and age for a person to reasonably be able to recover from. All funds donated will go to help cover any of his expenses that've stacked up, and help pay for just his regualr living expenses like rent and bills.

So what we're asking is that you help out a guy who's always been there for everyone who's known him. If you can pitch in some money, awesome. If all you can do is share and help spread the campaign, that would be so appreciated.

Thanks so much for taking the time to read this, and thank you even more for helping in any way you can.

Brandon Needs Your Help!

My dad Kurt has his own lawn business. His trailer and all of his lawn equipment was stolen! If he doesn't find it or get his trailer fixed, his business wont be around anymore. This is my dads life! His business. Please help him out!

Lawn equipment for my dad!

Our pal, and super funny comedian Andy Ritchie got himself a brain tumor this year and needless to say, it hasn't been awesome for him at all. He's had a couple surgeries and is still getting treatment. Though he's not doing too bad, he's not out of the woods yet.

As you can imagine, all this nonsense has left him unable to work, and the ongoing medical treatments & doctor visits he requires aren't cheap.

That's why me and Andy's friends Colton Dunn & Nick Swardson decided to start this campaign. We want to help Andy and his girlfriend Ruby get through all of this as smoothly as possible without having to worry about bills, money and everything else that goes along with this kind of thing.

If you can, please drop a few bucks towards this campaign and share it with your friends & family.

Help out a super great dude during a totally shitty time!

Andy Ritchie's Big Headache

Hi there, and thank-you for taking the time to read this. With so many people in need these days, it's a real honour.

As some of you who know me know, my Pug Shilo is my very best friend, and helped me crawl out of a deep depression that threatened to take everything from me, including my life.

When I was so deep, I no longer left my house, talked to anyone, and spent my days in anxious tailspins, I got a magic email from out of nowhere, saying that a young, overweight pug needed help. I took Shilo in, too overweight to walk, and somehow the alien I had become, and the alien that showed up at my door, formed a bond. Through love, friendship, and photography, I helped Shilo redisover his happiness, and he helped me rediscover my life.

Many, many pictures later, he became the #ShiloPug people know and many have loved over the years. His popularity and ability to touch lives is what ultimately dragged me back into the light, and I owe him everything.

Yesterday, June 25, when I went to get him up, I found him with his eyes rolling in his head, and curling his whole body to one side. I thought he was having a stroke in my arms, and I can't tell you how many dark shadows began to rain in on me.

I curled him up in his baby blanket, flagged down a truck as I no longer drive, and raced to the vet.

Turns out he either has a deep ear infection that you can't see from the outside, or a disease in older dogs much like Vertigo in humans. Either way, his eyes will be rolling for the next while, and his balance is so bad I hold him up to pee and poo...but it is difficult because he is such a polite little boy, he doesn't like to go with me around.

His first Vet trip cost $300. I am a freelancer that teaches disabled people about reconnecting through the internet, much like I did, and this was a whole paycheque to me for one of my classes. His next trip to the Vet is in only a week, and I know it will be about the same, and we are still in the discovery period.

I have never asked for anything before in my life. I spent time homeless, I was abused in every way imaginable, and I still managed to crawl back and have some sort of life for myself. The only thing in the world I need is this little Pug, and sitting here bawling and watching him try to walk, I had no other ideas than to ask out there, to all of you, and hope maybe someone that Shilo's pictures have uplifted, to maybe help if you can.

I am a designer, photographer, and all around helpful and bright guy, and can lend a lot of talent and time to any project you might have. I can do a lot.

Please help Shilo, and I promise, I will remember you always, and reciprocate 10x.

Thank-you for listening, and if you can't help with stupid money, please keep us in your thoughts.

Love,

Chris & Shilo Pug.
