<div>I have always dedicated my life to helping others as a Registered Behavior Technician, working closely with autistic children and making a positive impact in their lives. In September 2025, while being treated for colitis, doctors discovered a rare cancerous cyst on my pancreas. This unexpected diagnosis has turned my world upside down, and I now face the daunting challenge of undergoing a major, complex Whipple surgery to remove the tumor and protect my health.

<div>The road ahead is filled with uncertainty, not only because of the surgery itself but also due to the financial strain it brings. I will need to take an unpaid medical leave of absence from my job, and the costs of surgery, medical bills, and recovery are overwhelming. Despite these challenges, I remain hopeful and continue to rely on my faith to guide me through this difficult time.

<div>For the last 2 years, I've been doing everything I can to help the wild world of indie comics. It started with a blog. It evolved into a podcast. Now, the world is moving to video, so I tried to follow suit with the livestreams and YouTube content.

<div>Video editing isn't the easiest for the person or the machine. I've reached a point where I need new tech to keep the Blake's Buzz brand battle-ready.

<div>Many of you know, I've recently found myself unemployed. I had to leave a job to save my mental health. Initially, they stopped our bonuses. Afterwards, they halted 401k matching and annual raises. I found myself stuck in a situation where benefits were being constantly removed while the workload constantly increased. I ended up having a panic attack on the clock. I've never had one before, and I thought I was having a heart attack. I thought I might die. It was during this episode, I was told I couldn't leave for the day. My acting manager told me, "I've been sick all night, but luckily, we work from home and I can handle it."

<div>After talking to my friends and family, I realized I couldn't live like that anymore, and I quit the job. Unfortanetly, that meant returning the equipment I used to produce Blake's Buzz.

<div>This community has been there for me and my family numerous times. I'm not trying to take advantage of that, but I do need help. I want to continue helping indie creators find their audience and make their dreams a reality. I want to try and turn this brand into a business, but to do that, I need some upgrades.

<div>The initial ask of $800 is for a new laptop. Anything extra will be used for other production updates: a boom arm, lighting, maybe even a desk (my 'studio' is built atop a coffee table).

<div>My name's Blake Morgan, and many of you know me from my blog and podcast, Blake's Buzz. I'm sure a lot of you who follow me on social media know my dogs as well: Maynard and April. About a week ago, April collapsed. Her back legs quit working. We've spent a week working with our vet, and we've found out she has some nerve and spine issues and some kind of doggie scoliosis. The vet is hoping we can treat some of this with medication, but we will require the use of a doggie wheelchair.

<div>Our incredibly kind vet has loaned us a donated set of wheels, but, unfortunately, they're for a much larger dog, and she's having trouble maneuvering with the large harness and oversized wheels. We're going to have to get her a wheelchair made for her size, and they're not cheap.

<div>Walkin' Wheels is a really solid company, and they're vet recommended. The price for their wheelchair is about $500. The rest of the money will be used for transaction fees and, if any is left over, materials for my dad and I to build a couple access ramps.
</div>

<div>As many of you know, I very much believe in the power of crowdfunding. None of you owe me anything, but I'm hoping that, through the power of April's precious smile and the ever-growing Blake's Buzz audience, I can get some help in turning my dog into a racecar that runs on pure love.

Today, the plaintiff and I are issuing a joint statement, as follows:<br /><br />“On September 19, 2018, plaintiff Richard Meyer filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas against defendant Mark Waid that asserted claims of tortious interference with contract and defamation arising out of the intended publication of a comic book by Antarctic Press entitled ‘Jawbreakers.’ Following jurisdictional discovery and motions practice, a First Amended Complaint was filed on July 24, 2019.<br /><br />Since the filing of the lawsuit, ‘Jawbreakers’ has been successfully published and COVID-19 has significantly impacted the world around us. Upon consideration of all the circumstances, the parties have jointly decided that it is in the best interests of all concerned, and the comic book community at large, for this litigation to end and Mr. Meyer has decided to voluntarily dismiss the lawsuit. Neither party has admitted any liability or responsibility, can claim to have achieved any victory and both have agreed to assume their own fees and costs.<br /><br />With the dismissal of the lawsuit, the parties have executed a confidential agreement and have no interest in continuing this dispute in the public arena or anywhere else.”<br /><br />Again, each and every one of you has my gratitude. The spread occurs through the lymphatic system and/or the blood vessels. Melanoma can spread to the subcutaneous tissue which lies underneath the skin, the lymph nodes, and to other organs such as the lungs, liver, bone or brain. </strong><br /><br /><strong>We are raising funds to help with the exorbitant costs of treatments and medical expenses. Sean Wachter's Fight Against Cancer

We lost a beautiful person in a senseless act of violence at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando this past weekend. <br /><br /><strong>Eddie Sotomayor</strong> was the kindest, funniest, most sarcastic person anyone would actually love to meet. From the moment you met him, you could tell he was someone special and were instantly drawn in by his personality. <br />On June 4th, he posted "Each and every one of us has certain tests to pass in our lives: certain elevations that we have to go through, certain pain that we need to feel, certain cleansing processes we must experience, certain specific missions that we have to accomplish. That’s why we’ve been put here on Earth. If we can go through our lives with the understanding that everything that we face and every place that we find ourselves is put in front of us to bring us to another level of spirituality, then we can move through each day with a new kind of strength and certainty.<br /><br />Sometimes we complain about our struggles, but if we truly understood the process we are in, we would realize that everything is as it needs to be — and that we wouldn't have it any other way."<br /><br />His family is left with heartache, anger, unanswered questions and uncertainty of what to do next. We are hoping that we can raise some money for his family so that the costs of a wake, funeral arrangements, travel, etc. during this chaotic time is not something they have to worry about or endure the financial burden for. We hope that by raising some funds on their behalf we can help them focus on grieving and taking care of themselves and each other.<br /><br />All funds will be given directly to Eddie's sister Kimberly to help with the expenses she and her family incur as she goes through the heartbreaking steps of picking up the pieces in wake of this horrific event.<br /><br />Thank you in advance for your support for our family during this difficult time.
