Kay's Heart Foundation

My name is Kimora-Lee Curtis, and I'm raising money to launch Kay's Heart Foundation, a nonprofit born from two parts of my life that I cannot ignore. I lost my aunt to sickle cell disease. Her life and passing showed me how painful this disease can be and how often the people living with it are misunderstood, overlooked, or left without enough support. I want her memory to become something that continues to help people: more awareness, more compassion, and more practical care for individuals and families affected by sickle cell. I have also watched my mom live through housing instability, including sleeping in her car and staying in hotels when she did not have a safe, permanent place to call home. Seeing someone I love worry about where she will sleep changes the way you look at homelessness. It is not a stereotype or a distant problem. It is a real person trying to survive, hold onto dignity, and make it through another day. Kay's Heart Foundation brings these experiences together. The mission is to support people affected by sickle cell disease, poverty, and homelessness through education, advocacy, essential resources, emergency assistance, and community outreach. These issues may look different, but they often share the same painful result: people feel forgotten when they need care the most. This first fundraiser will help build the foundation's early programs and provide the resources needed to begin serving the community responsibly. Planned uses include sickle cell care and comfort packages, hygiene and essential-needs support, transportation or food assistance, safe-night and emergency family support when possible, awareness materials, and the first community fundraiser and outreach activities. My starting goal is $10,000. Every gift, whether it is $5, $25, $100, or a share, helps move this from an idea rooted in heartbreak into real help for families. I will share updates on what is raised, what is being built, and how funds are used as the work begins.
