Please help me cover the remaining costs of Anka's surgery. Many of you have followed the story of this incredible dog who was found near death, laying on the road while everyone drove around her and did not stop. We know now that she was in incredible pain, given she has multiple pelvic fractures. Over the past 2 weeks, you have watched her battle with weakness, pain, and raw, angry skin. She has now beaten the infection and anemia, and today she was cleared for surgery. Please help me cover her bill.

Simparica is a locally available medication for the treatment of ticks and fleas. We have a special arrangement with a local supplier who is able to provide Simparica that has recently expired (but is still fully effective) at a low price. Fleas and ticks are the pinnacle of suffering for Bali dogs. Whether they have homes or live on the street, most dogs in Bali suffer from flea and tick infestations. It is what begins the decline of the skin and eventually leads to infection from scratching and sometimes leads to death. Many dogs get thrown out of their homes because the owners cannot afford the treatment or don't understand the issue. So, this medicine keeps the dogs in homes. Our program offers free Simparica to any dog on the street that appears to be suffering from skin diseases. Our team drives around and provides this essential medicine to any dog in need. One XL pill will treat one large adult dog (approx. $10) or 4 puppies ($2.50 per puppy). $2.50 can completely change one puppy's life!! Just imagine the difference that a few dollars makes! Due to a sheer number of dogs (most dogs in Bali) that need this medicine- we cannot afford to get it without the support. Pease look at the before and after photos the website at what a miracle this medication is. Please help us raise the funds to keep us stocked up on this invaluable medicine.
Shelter dogs are already getting the least amount of care. Living in a shelter in Bali is just a step above living on the street. Did you know that many shelter dogs in Bali survive on just rice? While local shelters do their best to care for the rescued dogs, food supplies are always running low. That’s where we can step in together to make a difference. We support many shelters across Bali. With your help, we aim to purchase 40 bags of dog food (20 kg each) at $25 per bag. The dry dog food, mixed with rice, will stretch to feed hundreds of shelter dogs for days, giving them the nourishment they desperately need to thrive. Every donation makes an immediate impact! The funds raised go straight to the pet store, where the food is purchased and delivered directly to the shelters the same day you make the donation. And to show you the difference you’re making, I will send you a photo of your donation delivery—proof of your love in action. Thank you. By reaching our goal of $1,000, we can provide a reliable supply of food and bring relief to the hardworking shelters caring for these beautiful animals. Please donate today to help us feed the hungry paws of Bali. No contribution is too small—every dollar makes a difference. Together, we can ensure that these dogs experience kindness, love, and a full belly.

This is what a typical rescue process looks like. It takes about 4-6 weeks for a puppy to go from what you see in the 'before' picture to what you see in the 'after' picture. The monetary cost of this process is around $250. Of course, there are other types of 'costs' as well, such as time and energy needed for each puppy, looking for foster homes and adopters, interviewing them, visiting puppies at the vet, feeding and caring for the puppies, socializing them, collars and name tags, and transporting them to and from fosters and adopters. But we do that part gladly. I am asking for your help in covering the veterinary costs. Here is a rough breakdown of one puppy's veterinary costs here in Bali for 1 week of treatment: 2 cycles of vaccines - $50 Parvo virus rapid test - $20 Distemper virus rapid test - $20 1 week's hospitalization - $30 Blood test - $60 Flea and tick treatments - $12 Skin treatment for fungal and bacterial infections - $18 Antibiotics - $20 Consultation - $10 Supplements - $10 = $250 This is the basic treatment if the puppy has no significant issues or injuries that require x-rays or surgeries. The $250 allows them to receive the basic treatment and begin the process of recovery so they can start to look like the cute puppy they were supposed to be. Adopters don't like to adopt puppies that are straight from the street, puppies that look like malnourished wet porcupines :) Most want to know that the puppy is healthy and friendly and their family is not at risk for contracting a fungal infection from the puppy or losing a puppy to a virus. This is why we do this! We put the puppies through the process of veterinary care and socialization, get them healthy, cute and happy so they become 'adoptable'. If you would like to help one puppy's journey, please donate here.
