My name is Kathy, and I am reaching out for help for myself and my immediate family. We are a multigenerational household—my 72-year-old retired mother, my 44-year-old brother, and my four sons (ages 15, 13, 11, and 9)—all living together in a three-bedroom single wide mobile home. One of the bedrooms is used for storage, so space is tight. Our only income comes from my mother’s Social Security and my brother’s job.
Recently, things have become even more difficult. My child support is not dependable, and my mother’s car broke down and needs a major repair. It’s currently in the shop, and we just can’t come up with the money to fix it. My truck is now our only transportation, but it has a slow tire leak, which makes getting my kids to school and my brother to work a daily challenge. I have scoliosis and have had spinal surgery, which makes it hard for me to work. I am applying for disability, but the process takes a long time.
Our home is also in need of urgent repairs. The roof has holes, the pipes only have hot water, and the floor coverings are falling apart. We are doing our best to get by, but it’s overwhelming. Any support you can offer would go directly toward repairing our vehicles and making our home safer and more comfortable for my family. We would be grateful for whatever help you can provide. Thank you for caring, and God bless!
