Help Kelly and Sons Through Ian's Loss

<p>Dee was recently diagnosed with Uterine Cancer and underwent surgery on 4/29. She had a full hysterectomy and two lymph nodes removed.<br /><br />Her health insurance has a large out-of-pocket deductible. On top of that, she is responsible for 50% of all medical bills and future treatment.<br /><br />Dee is a single mom of two amazing children, Hailey and Christopher. The past few years have been financially challenging for Dee due to two other recent surgeries and a long drawn out court case that requires her ex to pay child support &amp; other expenses.<br /><br />Dee Mayer has been teaching at American Heritage school for 16 years. She loves spending the days with her 18 kindergartners and finds great joy in remembering all the children she’s taught over the years. Dee always gives her students all that she can to be successful and feel loved!<br /><br />Dee’s faith has helped her bravely confront cancer with peace in her heart. We are hoping people donate to help Dee during this difficult season of her life.

Help Dee Mayer Fight Cancer!

<div>Tragically on December 23, 2021, our beloved now 11-year-old son Cameron Hudson was diagnosed with cancer. What started as a golf ball-sized tumor behind his right knee soon revealed multiple nodules on both lungs, measuring between 1 and 3cm. The doctors discovered that Cameron has a very rare and dangerous ewing-like sarcoma called CIC-DUX4, which has limited treatment options and a bleak outlook. We have been fighting tirelessly, and despite initial success, the cancer has returned and intensified. We are now turning to our community for prayers, support, and financial contributions to help Cameron in his courageous battle.

<div>Cameron's Journey:
</div>
<div>On January 6, 2022, the doctors at Children's Health Care of Atlanta initiated an aggressive chemotherapy regimen for Cameron. For 43 weeks, he endured grueling treatment cycles, spending numerous days in the hospital for chemotherapy and enduring multiple surgeries, procedures, and proton therapy treatments. Miraculously, in October 2022, Cameron received a clean bill of health, with no signs of cancer on any scans. It was a tremendous relief and a ray of hope for our family.

<div>Unfortunately, just days before his birthday (May 1st) on April 28, 2023, Cameron began experiencing chest pains and difficulty breathing. Medical examinations revealed that his right lung had partially collapsed, and fluid had accumulated around it. Further tests confirmed the devastating news that his cancer had returned, with two masses measuring 3cm and 10cm in his right lung. Immediate chemotherapy was started, but the prognosis remains grim, and treatment options are limited for his type of cancer. He spent consecutive 12 days in the hospital to drain the fluid and for his treatment.

<div>The Current Battle:
</div>
<div>Two weeks after his 1st chemotherapy treatment, Cameron's condition worsened. He experienced severe pain on the right side and unexpectedly gained weight. Medical tests revealed that the tumor had more than doubled in size, engulfing his entire right lung. The hospital admitted him to the ICU and regretfully informed us that they no longer had the means to treat him effectively. On May 28th, we brought Cameron home under hospice care, knowing that the tumor would continue to grow rapidly until his passing.

<div>The next day, my wife and I informed Cameron and my other son Noah of the grave news.  Cameron looked me right in the eye and said “Daddy, I’m going to fight this and I’m not done yet” 
</div>
<div>Despite facing unimaginable challenges, Cameron continues to fight. His resilience and unwavering spirit inspire us every day. We refuse to give up hope, and we believe that with the support of our community, miracles can happen and my family and I are working towards this.

<div>Cameron’s vitals when he left the hospital were 135 heart rate, 88 to 92 blood oxygen level and his respirations were at 35 to 40. The doctors said that the tumor would most likely double every few days until he passed at this point.

<div>Cameron's vitals as of today: are 95 to 108 heart rate, 92 to 96 blood oxygen level (without being on oxygen) and his respirations are still high at 30 to 36.

Cameron's battle against a very rare cancer

<div>32-year veteran Memphis Firefighter David Pleasant made the ultimate sacrifice for the City of Memphis on Wednesday, August 10, 2022.  While responding to a reported house fire, David's apparatus, Truck 5, was involved in a motor vehicle accident and the ladder truck he was driving turned over on its side. Unfortunately, Brother Pleasant succumbed to injuries sustained in the accident.  As a result, the Memphis Fire Fighters Association Foundation (a 501c3 charitable organization) is collecting funds to pass on to Brother Pleasant's four daughters to assist them in their time of need.

<div>On may 25th 2022 tragedy struck not only to our family but to all that knew her. My mother in law Carol Biganini passed away suddenly. She was more then my mother in law, she was my other mother, my husband Anthony and his sisters Samantha, Raffaela, and Natalie lost their mother.My father in law lost his wife after over 40 years of marriage and after knowing her since they were 15 years old. My son Silvio lost his grandma Carol the bond that those two had was unremarkable. She did everything for everyone even for people she rarely knew. Carol never said no. She would give you the shirt on her back, or her last dollar all the while taking care of her 5 children cause she always said i was hers too, her husband and the house. When she loved she loved with her whole heart and when she gave she gave it all. Carol worked alot at a bagel store as well and did not have life insurance policy. She never got around to making one life got in the way and she put everyone infront of herself always. Carol would get only 1 day off yet she still did it all. She was the true meaning of a saint, an angel and to all who knew her a hero.

<div>Even with her job and her husband working as well and the pandemic times got very hard. Bills had to still get paid.  We are asking for help to pay for the expenses of the funeral and arrangements. This family suffered way to much to worry about giving this beautiful woman a proper buriel.

Whatever you can do would be greatly appreciate!!!<br />On another note if you knew Ron you knew a great man, a legend, a retired US Army 101 Airborne Vet, a comic, a happy go lucky guy, he was just looking to have a good time and he didn’t love anything more than his family!
