<div>I met Andrea in 8th grade at Marshall Fundamental Secondary School in Pasadena. Andrea and I were on the Dance Team together, we were in each other's quinceañeras, we served on cabinets of school clubs together, and we served the Altadena &amp; Pasadena communities together. I love Andrea and her family. It hurts to see my beautiful friend and her family in so much pain after the place they called home and grew up in burned down.

Help Andrea & Chavo After Eaton Fire

<p>If Armani Mondragon has touched your life in any way, you are well aware of what a selfless, honest and humble person she is. I know of no one as devoted to the care of animals in need. She has devoted herself very quietly to rescuing dogs who no one else will ... spending continual and non-ending hours anguishing over their fate and reaching out far and wide to anyone who will listen, and lend a hand. Armani, through her benevolent Bravedogs Advocacy rescue, is an almost-invisible blessing to our animal community in the South Bay and beyond. She seeks no attention, no applause, no acknowledgement. What she has committed her life to has everything to do with the animals, with whom she has a very strong connection. Armani is an animal person first and foremost, with one notable exception: her beautiful daughter, Dylyn, for whom this fundraising effort is created.
</p>

<p>Dylyn is an inherently empathetic soul… Her passion for animals led her to intern at an animal hospital while still in high school. She quickly impressed the staff and the owner with her drive and dedication, and was hired shortly thereafter, working full time while furthering her education to become an RVT. For several years now, she has dedicated herself to the care of animals… including every rescue dog that has come into her mother's home.
</p>

<p>But now Dylyn is the one in urgent need of help. She is selfless, compassionate, funny, and inspiring as she faces the challenge of having been diagnosed with a high grade sarcoma at only 29 years old. Even on the days when pain keeps her housebound and relegated to her bed, she has a smile for everyone who loves her.
</p>

<p>Yet, they are faced with several challenges: loss of income; her day-to-day care; groceries/nutritious diet; cost of pain relief &amp; management; and, though she is currently in a holding pattern in regard to treatment, Dylyn will most likely be facing chemotherapy. Armani travels the two-hour roundtrip to be with her daughter Monday through Friday, to lend companionship and comfort and tend to Dylyn's diet with homemade meals. Dylyn's fiancé—they became engaged December 2020 ❤️ and rent a home together—is steadfast and now the sole income earner.
</p>

<p>We intend to be there for Dylyn every step of the way… and every donation helps secure this promise to a beautiful light that shines so bright in this world. <div>Even at a young age Dominique was loved by so many, and wherever she went, touched people’s hearts with her sweet voice, her loyalty and her sassy, no-nonsense attitude. She was a big animal lover and had what her mom called “a rescuer’s heart”, especially when it came to pit bulls. Which she left behind two dog’s that will now be cared for by her parents.

Celebration of Life for Dominique Ramirez

<p>In mid-July The Beckwourth Complex Fire devastated the small town of Doyle CA, and took NIMBY with it (just a year after the storied maker space was pushed out of Oakland when their building was sold).<br />The losses in this massive fire are too many to calculate. NIMBY founder Michael Snook lost five of six buildings on his property along with truckloads of tools and equipment.<br />This fundraiser is to help Snook rebuild NIMBY and help Doyle be better prepared to deal with wildfires since as they become more common and more intense. We advocate for the communities we engage with and work to link individuals with housing services if requested. </span>

<p dir="ltr" style="line-height:1.38;margin-top:0pt;margin-bottom:0pt;"><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:Arial;vertical-align:baseline;white-space:pre-wrap;">Vincent Williams began Urban Compassion Project in January of 2021, with just a few friends and a box of hefty trash bags. They started by cleaning up trash and debris from illegal dumping, including furniture, mattresses, and bags of trash left near encampments of unhoused people. Williams has been housing insecure most of his life and was tired of seeing unhoused members of his community struggle to connect with much-needed resources while also being blamed for the piles of debris. </span>
</p>

<p dir="ltr" style="line-height:1.38;margin-top:0pt;margin-bottom:0pt;"><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:Arial;vertical-align:baseline;white-space:pre-wrap;">Rapidly, each cleanup gained more and more volunteers, and now 30 community members on average gather with Williams each Saturday to clean up trash and meet their unhoused neighbors. This work connects people who are unhoused with their housed neighbors, building trust and community, while empowering those who are unhoused to care for their spaces around Oakland. Additionally, by cleaning up illegal dumping and helping people who are unhoused to maintain their spaces, Urban Compassion Project discourages continued dumping—the less trash in an area, the less likely people are to add trash to it. </span>

<p dir="ltr" style="line-height:1.38;margin-top:0pt;margin-bottom:0pt;"><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:Arial;vertical-align:baseline;white-space:pre-wrap;">Williams speaks directly with unhoused residents of an area where cleanup has occurred, taking requests for other unhoused groups that could benefit from cleanup services, and confirming if the community would like a follow-up cleanup on another day. Sometimes the work needed can’t be accomplished in a single morning, as volunteer cleanups generally run between 9 am and 1 pm. The key distinction to Urban Compassion Project’s work is that by partnering with unhoused people in the area, volunteers ensure that no personal belongings are damaged or thrown away—a level of respect not present in police sweeps or city evictions. </span>
</p>

Williams does not take a salary, working other jobs while organizing weekly resource distributions, connecting individuals with transitory services as requested, and in some cases, ensuring individuals released from healthcare centers have a safe place to go.</span>

<p>Ann was tragically killed in an auto accident on her way to rescue animals, that was her passion. She saved so many dogs and passed doing what she loved. She leaves behind 2 little girls whom unfortunately lost their father in the accident as well. Family support and funeral costs

<p>We are raising money to afford to make Mountain View Cemetery in Oakland Corn's final resting place.  To Corn's family, there is no better place in the world to honor her memory and keep her as an enduring part of our lives.  We enjoyed countless dog walks at Mountain View with Corn and Ella, often joined by other happy dogs that Corn was sitting for that week.  It's on Piedmont Avenue, where Corn spent many of her happiest days and there remains a community of loving friends.  It is expensive, but we feel like it's more than worth the cost for all of her friends and family to be able to visit her in such a beautiful and peaceful place that she already loved to spend time at.
</p>

<p>Because of the restrictions during this pandemic, we cannot have a funeral for Corn for the massive amount of people who will want to say goodbye to Corn, but this fund will hopefully also help pay for that gathering when we can eventually have it.  
</p>

<p>If by any chance, there is any donation money left over in this fund after the burial and funeral expenses are paid, we will be so happy to give all of that to PALS, the East Bay pet rescue and adoption organization in which Corn volunteered her time and adopted the love of her life, Ella Bean.

Corn Greaves Funeral and Burial Fundraiser

Greetings Rudsdale friends, family, and community, <br /><br />Please help our students survive the COVID19 shelter-in-place! Since March 16th, Rudsdale Newcomer High School has been shut down and will remain closed for the remainder of the academic school year. <br /><br /><a href="https://vimeo.com/407782478" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">About Rudsdale Newcomer</a> <strong> &lt;-- Check out our video about our school!</strong><br /><br />We are a small continuation high school in Oakland, CA and our school serves immigrant students who have been in the U.S. for 4 years or less. Our school offers students a path to a high school diploma, access to social services, community college, and work-based learning experiences.  Many of our students are undocumented, unaccompanied-minors or asylum-seekers. Our current students are from Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Belize. Some were reunited with families, while most are alone in the U.S. or living with temporary sponsors.<br /><br />Since the COVID19 shelter-in-place, our students have lost their jobs and are struggling to afford rent, food, utilities/bills, and basic supplies. We are in need of hand sanitizer, hand soap, cleaning wipes and spray, groceries, money for rent/ utilities, and laundry detergent. We escaped Paradise. When  leaving town I drove the wrong way to get out of Paradise; west in the eastbound lane of Skyway, everything was burning on both sides of the Skyway, the Welcome to Paradise sign was in flames and almost gone, I knew then we wouldn’t have a home to return to. Three long days later, Sunday, November 11th on Glenn’s birthday, we were sent a video of where our little home used to be. We now had confirmation our home and all our beloved, cherished memories were gone, nothing but ash. I can attempt to begin the closure process, although over five months later, this still doesn’t feel real. <br /><br />"That night" Moose Montana was evacuated from Valley Oak to a vet in Anderson, and our two cats Beasley and Nubbins a few days later to a shelter in Chico. We were all separated for almost 8 weeks, although we were all safe. During this time Moose, most likely as a result of extreme stress, developed A LOT of mast cell spots, in January he had surgery to remove 17 different spots.  <br /><br />As far as needs, this is a new journey for all of us, so I am extremely grateful and humbled for anything. It’s overwhelming knowing we are literally starting over and have to rebuild our lifetime of cherished belongings and memories. Thank you for your generosity and compassion during this incredibly challenging time. Moose Montana and Family Camp Fire TLC

This is my dear friend, Janette. She and her father are both handicapped and lived together in Paradise. They barely made it out of their home with their beloved pets and the clothes on their backs, but they were lucky—and are grateful to be alive.<br /><br />Now that they have overcome the initial shock of this tragedy, it is time to adjust to life after disaster. Dad is going to be moving to Idaho with Janette’s brother (whose family, sadly, also lost everything in the fire). This leaves Janette on her own in California without a permanent home. <br /><br />Janette is unable to work due to her disability and physical limitations, so at this point she really needs a place to live.  We are collecting donations so she can purchase a used 5th wheel trailer and truck as a baseline. If someone has either a truck or trailer they might be able to donate, then any funds raised would be used to get her set up as self-sufficient and accessible as possible.<br /><br />As we head into the holidays, this is one way that each of us can make an impactful and lasting difference in the life of a real person in our extended community. Disabled Paradise fire survivor needs a miracle

One week ago life changed in a matter of hours for some very dear friends of mine. They lost everything in the #campfire wildfire along with the rest of their family. The fire roared up the canyon so fast that they were barely able to grab their belongings, toss their pets in the car and escape with their lives. They are temporarily staying in a Church in Biggs, California while they try to figure out a more permanent solution.<br /><br /> <br /><br />Tammy and her husband Jonathan have been joined by Tammy’s father Bill who also lost everything in the fire. They are trying to figure out where to go from here, what to do, and what starting over from scratch looks like?  Right now they don’t have many answers.  Mostly, they’ve spent their days making sure that the people they care about are okay,  and getting their basic needs met.<br /><br /> <br /><br />Now, they need to focus on finding semi permanent or long term housing somewhere, as Paradise will be uninhabitable for a very long time!  They need to shift their focus to finding a new normal. They were not homeowners and had no rental insurance.  Also, Jonathan is out of work because there is no longer a town to go back to. <br /><br /> <br /><br />There is some urgency to their situation because of pre-existing health conditions. Tammy is has an autoimmune condition which makes living in these conditions more dangerous, because she will get ill faster than those with a healthy immune system. Bill also has a health condition, he has COPD. Because of this it is urgent that they get away from the toxic smoke from Paradise burning as soon as possible.<br /><br /> <br /><br />Any donations will be so very appreciated and will go towards helping this amazing family rebuild their lives. If you’re able to contribute anything, big or small, it will make a difference. No one should ever have to go through this. Please help them before their health conditions become too compromised to recover from

After going through what I had left in Paradise. This was very emotionally and physically draining beyond belief. A couple of sleep deprived laughs escaped my body as I came across dishes we would throw over the fence as kids when we didn't want to wash them... now with no fence to conceal them, my mischievous childhood secrets were exposed. I'm tired, hurt, drained, and physically feeling the effects. I was not able to find my mom's ashes. They were in a glass bottle and all the glass I found was melted together into what could pass as an abstract piece of art. I felt so hopeless. As I stood there sinking into muddy ash and rubble in the pouring rain, thoughts began to speed through my head. Why did you come here? Did you honestly think you would find anything? Was it worth the 8 hour drive? Can you handle this without a crew? I wandered over to what I knew used to be my room.. only recognizable by the crispy skeletons of a washer and drier. I began to dig, gloves soaked, glasses drenched, and my heart aching as every bit of hope evaporated at a rapid rate. 
Through my tears I could see some of my sons art in tact♡ only then did i regain some hope .

As the holidays and new year approaches, i find myself stessed and worried about going into the new year so unstable. We are still in need of everyday essentials such as gas and groceries. Please share our story. We are hoping not to slip through the cracks as the days since this tragedy grows.
I am staying focused. Yes I breakdown.. how can I not?? I'll get back up though and keep going.

We consist of a small family with a fur baby. I, Alysia, am 28 years old. My son, Lyric, is 9 years old. My doggie, SugarBear, is a 8 year old small white pit bull. I have had her since she was 3 days old. On November 8th, 2018 we, like many others, lost our home in the Campfire that destroyed Paradise California. My son was in Alaska at the time of the fire and due home just days after. Needless to say we cancelled his return ticket. Unfortunately this left him to endure the recent earthquakes in Anchorage. His nerves are shot and mine surely are as well. My family is still in great need of help to move forward.

NEW UPDATE ♡♡♡ (IN UPDATE SECTION) 

Our home was destroyed in the campfire. We lived off of Pearson and Foster. Right on the corner. Everything I own in my life was in there. We narrowly escaped the blaze with my car, the clothes on our backs, 5 dogs, and a cat. I am surprised we made it out with my car. Just a couple days later my car engine blew up. It was my shelter and storage of the clothes I've been donated. Please if anyone could possibly help or share this even. Please do so, I greatly appreciate it. Thank you for taking your time to read this. ***Update Nov. 19th 2018 We made it to Oregon. Thanks to some very kind hearted people. The nightmares haven't stopped, the worry still hits me, I miss my family and my friends. I miss going to my MoMo's house.. seeing the dogs, getting cookies from the cookie jar that Papa had just made (even at 28 years old). Ugh my heart is so shattered when I think about "making a list" of losses. Nothing can bring back my sons first outfit. The baby clothes I kept for his future kids. Generations of family treasures. My mom's ashes were in there. I can't even think about this without crying my eyes out. I can't make a list. None of it can be compensated for. The only thing that has made this slightly bare able has been everyone coming together like I've never seen. I'm so close to getting a decent car I can taste it. To me, right now, that and shelter are what matters.. that's the start to a restart. Im so lost as to what restart means right now :'( Everyone is rushing to the stores to get their final thanksgiving food items. They are prepping all this food. I thought to myself for a minute.... why are they doing this? What's going on? Ooooohhh..... thanksgiving... it doesn't even register with me. I'm so worried about everything else. I wonder when I will hold my son again. Very glad he knows how to facetime and use the Marco Polo app. I sure love seeing his face. Donations and help are all my world has been for over a week. I'm usually so independent so this has been tough on my ego. Yet I'm nothing but humbled. Many things I am thankful for are: My son was in Alaska at the time, I have clothes, I have food, I have a bed to lay in for right now and one soon after while I figure some things out. I have wonderful memories with friends in paradise. I have access to some copies of Lyrics baby pictures through family. Also saved many to my Facebook through the years. I have my dog through this all. I have almost enough for a good car. I still cant believe mine took such a crap on me. At the same time, I'm glad it's at least saved us from the fire and got me to many donation centers while also serving as a temporary bed ♡ I am here for any of my Paradise family and friends that need to talk or need information on resources. I have done a lot of research. Myself, I still have a long road a head of me. CAR, PLACE, JOB. I am staying focused. Yes I breakdown.. how can I not. I'll get back up though and keep going. He lost his home, all of his belongings, his animals, but most devastatingly, he lost his wife of 30+ years Ellen Walker. <br /><br />He went to work early in the morning before there was even an evacuation notice out. Without going into much detail she was still asleep when she passed. <br /><br />As of right now he needs a place to rest his head, and funds to recover what was materially lost in the fire. We know that the wounds will never fully close from this horrific event but we’re asking for your help to try and make things a little easier on him. <br /><br />We ask that if you cannot donate please share this fundraiser for him.
